So in the comics Batman DID actually go to Zatanna’s father to learn magic, but he was turned away for the reason you guys state in the video - it’s too much power for someone like Batman to have. Plus Zatanna’s father said such occult knowledge would corrupt and twist Bruce.
Rather than protest, Bruce acknowledged his concerns and left to continue mastering martial arts and the like. He and Zatanna are very good friends and have even dated at one point in time.

True just consider how many worlds he manages to take over if he turns evil.
Funny enough none of the dark knights were magic users. I think Snyder realized that the Batman Who Laughs would have competition he couldn't beat. Since the reason Batman doesn't use magic in the main timeline. Is because the way magic works in the DC universe and feeds on your energy, Bruce no matter how well intentioned. Would eventually go dark.
He already gave himself multiple personality disorder that could act as a back up in case he was ever compromised. And that version of him managed to take control and put himself in the mind of a robot Bruce had designed to take himself out of he ever killed someone.
Now imagine what he would have done if he could do magic? I'm never gonna get a chance to write an elseworlds story, so I hope one day that someone figures out a way to tell the story of the magic using Batman.

To give a contrasting example, the Batman in the Dark Knight Returns animated movie is pretty much Batfleck. I don't recall if he explicitly killed anyone but with some of the injuries, realistically he probably did. I can still see that version comforting a small child even with how violent he is
Had the rest of BvS balanced out Batman's violence with his compassionate side or more interestingly if it treated Batman killing people as a character study I probably would like it a lot more and actually count it as a great example

It really is, but there's only a handful people in the world who that these levels of magical power and one of them spent centuries developing it.
Human's aren't naturally compatible with magic, so to break through a certain threshold, you need mutant bloodlines, contracts, or inhuman transplants. Fun fact, pretty much all of Constantine's impressive latent magic is consumed by his ridiculous bloodline passive ability, so to do things he does here, when not relying on magic objects, he sold his soul to a large amount of different demons, in exchange for their blood, such that if any ever try to collect, they'll start a turf war in hell.

He's basically Immortal too he can regenerate easily as long as theirs plant life around dont matter how small it could be a little bush, messed up roots, even a piece of Tobacco and he's back to normal he's incredibly OP. He passively manipulates fate, by stealing good fortune from everyone around him. Being near him is like second hand smoke, but most of his stats can be considered "irrelevant level". The only law of a Hellraiser story is, Constantine has to end up worse off at the end.

Speaking of Zatanna, she is actually one of my favourite female DC characters and is an underrated character, and I like how Zatanna speaks backwards to conjure spells and use magic. That scene where she shows how OP she truly is with her magic is so DOPE! Her dynamic relationship with Constantine is also entertaining as Constantine is a bastard and knows it. Matt Ryan, as John Constantine, is such perfect casting that he plays the character in live-action CW DC shows. I wish more DC projects would dive into the magical side of the universe.
