      I agree, it looks more like South East Asia and has living standard at par with European countries, 2022 United Nations report on SGD/HDI Score of Kerala is 0.779 which is actually more than European countries like Latvia, Albania and neighbours.
      "Kerala, a state in India, is a bizarre anomaly among developing nations, a place that offers real hope for the future of the Third World. Though not much larger than Maryland, Kerala has a population as big as California's and a per capita annual income of less than $3000. But its infant mortality rate is very low, its literacy rate's among the highest on Earth, and its birthrate's below that of America's and falling faster. Kerala's residents live nearly as long as Americans or Europeans. Though mostly a land of paddy-covered plains, statistically Kerala stands out as the Mount Everest of social development; there's truly no place like it." - Bill McKibben

      around the mid april "Thrissur pooram" happens. (Thrissur= another district of kerala probably 2hr drive from kochi and pooram means festival) . A resplendent festival celebrated with a grand display of caparisoned elephants, dazzling parasols, and percussion music, the Thrissur Pooram is a magnificent spectacle merging the spiritual and cultural essence of Kerala. , the pooram is held at the Thekkinkadu Maidanam in Thrissur. The festival sports an enthralling line-up of vibrantly decked up elephants and is marked by the kudamattom ceremony. Involving swift and rhythmic changing of brightly coloured and sequined parasols, the kudamattom ceremony is one among the highlights and is a keenly watched event. @@yaltta

  • @errol700
    @errol700 8 месяцев назад +5

    They head to Kerala and order "Butter Chicken" - even after spending so much time in India, they still seem blissfully unaware of the rich culture and diverse cuisines.
    Here's a quick lesson: Languages/ dialects, and culinary traditions change every 200 kilometers in India, and Kerala boasts some of the finest cuisine in the country.
    Butter chicken was actually "created" around 70 years ago by an innovative chef in Delhi to repurpose leftover dry Tandoori or clay oven-grilled chicken. It is a left-over stale chicken dish- you would never get the perfect taste with freshly cooked chicken. For context: can you make a decent East/South East Asian fried rice with freshly steamed rice!
    Consider the process and ingredients:
    The Tandoor or clay oven was introduced by Central Asian nomadic conquerors (Descendants of Genghis Khan!) , while tomatoes and cashews were brought by the Portuguese from Spanish traders in South America. Before the introduction of tasteless broiler chicken, most Indians, primarily vegetarians, either did not consume chicken or could not afford it. Butter, a recent addition, was introduced by the colonial Europeans / British; only the wealthy could afford Ghee (clarified butter), which was mainly used in Hindu rituals as an offering to the gods.
    It's disheartening to see them request “Butter Chicken” in Kerela and southern India in general, and sad to know that many restaurants include it on their menus to cater to Western and East Asian palates, resulting in an almost bland array of options.
    And then they will surely label it as "authentic Indian" food/cuisine. I've spent my entire life here and still don't know what truly constitutes "authentic" Indian cuisine. We are not one India - within our ancient nation, there are thousands of diverse cultural and culinary traditions.

    Check out Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep Islands! Their beaches are like a gazillion times better than Goa - crystal-clear blue waters and stunning white sand.
    Andaman and Nicobar are so much easier to get to, loads of direct flights from India, and no permits needed! Super tourist-friendly with tons of beach activities. It's massive, though. You'll need like 12 to 14 days to soak in all the beauty - beaches, forests, waterfalls, marine life, and wildlife.
    Lakshadweep has even more beautiful and less crowded beaches. But it's a bit trickier to reach, and you'll need permits. Go for a private or government tour package. It's close to the Maldives and Kerala, so if you're planning, hit up a Lakshadweep tour operator in Kerala, especially in Kochi.

    When all your india travels are done, i'd love to see a video reviewing your overall experience in travelling in india on both of your trips. What were the challenges? What did you feel? Did you experience the usual stereotypes to be true or the story was completely different? Usually, i don't ask these from other vloggers but because Koreans usually have a bad preconceptions of india, i'd like to see a video in korean appealing to the korean audience and telling them the actual truth, no matter what it is. Anyway, great vlog as always.

    DID you find any board anywhere in INdia stating "KOREANS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE", like the one you see in KOREA very commonly????

      No u wont find "Indians are not allowed in korea labeled boards "Commonly". The word commonly is wrong actually, not all koreans are same, the above mentioned board was only seen in front of a pub or smthng, coz of some specific people who create nuisance in that specific place!!So its okey dude there are many Indians still in korea who are studying, working&living happily, even my friend too...
