We are so sorry to hear this, Ty Skippy is a legend in the Chi and beyond. He was definitely built for this. We never had the pleasure of meeting him in person but he had no idea the song I wrote “Step & Let the Floor Smoke” was inspired by him. I watched this smooth brother time after time step and let the floor smoke. I have overdubbed him in several of my videos. When I wrote the lyrics in the song that says “WE SPINNING LIKE WE ON THE MOON, SHINING LIKE STARS AS WE DIP AND SLIDE ACROSS THE ROOM”, this was written from what I saw Ty Skippy do as he mesmerized the crowd. We will never forget you my brother. We’ll keep praying for the family. Queen Celeste, we hold you in our prayers. RIP Ty Skippy. You have touched more people than you know. Rest Easy 🙏🏽

It seems as if the steppin' community has lost quite a bit of its best practitioners lately. These past few years have been exceptionally hard. I just want to extend my most sincere condolences to his family and friends. I didn't know him personally but I had friends who did and they all had nothing but good things to say about him. We should all hope to be as well thought of and well remembered as Ty is.
