As the good lady is saying, our entire understanding of pre ancient history is going to be reshaped after this. My mind was thinking about the following questions when I was following this lecture. Please share your thoughts on the following: Western plate tectonic theories propose our earth has had multiple polar shifts and reversals. this threw out and pulled back continental sized land masses. They propose these movements happend seven times. I was assuming this is the seven successive Manavantars noted in our scriptures.

@@dreamsdesires pardon my ignorance, I have only read the translation of Mahabharat. I can recall several descriptions of the land mass being a single super continent surrounded by oceans on all sides. I always thought this meant something like a pangea like supercontinent. Sometimes I thought that it was simply referring to the Indian plate while it was travelling to Asia. Another point is the Himalayan mountain range. Several descriptions including the Aigiri Nandini bhajan refers to Vindyas being the tallest mountain range. Was the Himalayan mountain not created by the clash of Indian plate against the Asian plate then? I can also vaguely recall reading out the previous super continent was at the south pole and how our plate along with Africa broke away and went northwards. I was also under impression that Lord Shiva's second marriage with Mata Parvati was the allegorical description of the collision between our continental plates. After hearing today, I have to rethink quite a bit of my basic understanding.
