I've NEVER been able to do push-ups (50kg female, not a lot of muscle) and found it impossible to activate my pectorals. The Chest squeeze has finally activated those muscles for me. I’m starting to get back into working out due to being in a women Tug of war team, and last he’s run season I lost Almost a stone of weight by doing training three times a week, group gym session once a week and some small work outs at home. However while I haven’t put the full weight back I on, I suffer form lipodemea in my legs and find it hard to lose weight there than my torso. I’m hoping by doing this workout at least two to three times a week I can hopefully start getting back into the fitness routine I had last year…… and maybe even keep it when we are out of season😂 thanks Chris this is a great

A very good point, particularly for beginners is the quality of reps you do is very important. Being in full control of the full range of movement possible during each rep is important to gain muscle while maintaining range of movement and flexibility long term. Lots of people that focus on building muscle wind up with drastically reduced range of movement because I guess they miss this point while straining away at low reps and max weight. And long term that is not good for your joints.

I am 18 years old, kind of skinny right now but I have been playing hockey for the last 10 years so I'm in a good shape from the stamina and speed viewpoint, but I want more muscles and just be stronger overall. I did this workout yesterday, it was amazing but I made the mistake of going for 2 sets! my middle chest is sooo sore the day after lol I think this workout can seriously help with building up strength. My goal this year is a handstand push-up! (Last year my goal was full planche and Ive achieved it)
Hey man! I am new in the industry and I made a concept for a workout schedule for myself including Pull, Push and Leg/shoulders. I am 18 years old, kind of skinny right now but I have been playing hockey for the last 10 years so I'm in a good shape from the stamina and speed viewpoint, but I want more muscles and just be stronger overall. Here is my concept workout, is there someone who can help me optimize it? It would be great if I could get some advice/feedback for things I can do differently to get stronger in a more efficient way :). Thank you in advance :)))
Day 1: Push (Chest/Triceps)
* Bench Press (with barbell): 4 sets 18-20 reps
* Dumbbell Chest Press: 3 sets 20 reps
* Standing Double Curls (with dumbbells): 7 sets 10 reps (30 SEC REST in between)
* Close Grip Bench Press (with barbell): 3 sets 8-10 reps
* Push-Ups (possibly with weight on the back): 3 sets till failure
Day 2: Pull (back/Biceps)
* Bent Over Barbell Rows: 4 sets 8-10 reps
* Underhand Rows (with dumbbells): 4 sets 12 reps
* Negative Chin-Ups: 3 sets 4-6 reps (focus on eccentric phase)
* Supermen (back muscles): 3 sets 15 reps + last one till failure
* Hammer Curls (with dumbbells): 3 sets 10-12 reps
Dag 3: Legs (legs/Shoulders)
* Squats (with barbell): 3 sets 8-10 reps
* Romanian Deadlift: 3 sets 8-10 reps
* Bulgarian Split Squads: 3 sets 8-10 reps
* Standing Calf Raises (with dumbbells): 4 sets 15 reps
* Hip Thrusts (with barbell or dumbbells): 3 sets van 12 reps
* (+ some sort of shoulder exercise?)
