Thanks so much guys for sharing your experience! One could learn lot from it. I came to Canada in 2019. I was pursuing CA back home but didn’t appear for finals due to lack of guidance. People used to say Indian study won’t be considered there & blah blah..! Also my research part was not strong at that point. Anyway, landed here & I did Accounting Technician Diploma recently. As of now going through Transcript Evaluation and soon I will be back on my track. Looking forward to connect to more Indian CPA pursuant! Great platform Dweepa!! 👍👍👍
Thanks you for the informative video. today is my first day of preparation and was struggling a lot. now i got some idea where to focus on and move further.
There are a lot of whatsapp groups. Connect with some CAs who are doing CPA and you will be able to join the wapp groups. From there find like minded people to create your own core study group. 3-4 people max.
Hi I am wondering as to how much time it would have required to prepare ? Is it like how we prepare in india for CA finals ? Like studying for 12-16 hours ?
No it is not based on hours of study and how much you remember. It is more focused on what you have understood and how you can apply the knowledge in the case study. More focus is required on understanding case study writing strategies. 6 months study time is sufficient. First 3 months -6-10 hours per week Last three months 30-40 hours of study per week
Hi deepa, can you advise if cpa canada cases provided in capstone 2 are sufficient for first timer writers to pass cfe or would you suggest taking dena more material and follow them rather than capstone 2. I shall be very grateful for your advise. Thank you
Hi Ankita Capstone 2 case writing practice is very effective if you follow it sincerely. It means writing the cases with the time limit, submitting for marking and debriefing the cases. Debrief is very important. CPA resources are enough to pass the CFE. You can always go for additional resources but it is not a must.
@@canadacpaonlineacademy4451 Thank you Deepa. Much appreciate. So you did those 16 cases too that were provided by cpa right. I am only concerned as it says on the portal that they are not updated for any recent changes. Did that show on your portal as well.
@@ankitasharma8199 yes they are not updated but it is mostly for tax. e.g. CCA policy was different in 2019 and 2020. so for those AOs you will have to check the answer from the ebooks for the updates. but mostly it is effective practice.
Thank you all for such informative video. Deepa, I am appearing for CFE Sep 21 and have started with studies now. Watching the video was really encouraging. I cleared CA (India) in 2008 and been working in Audit and assurance for most part. If I dedicate 3 hours daily and 8 hours on weekends to study for next 3+ months, would it be effective way of preparation or do you recommend more? The though I have in mind is am I too late. I decided to enrolled myself with the positive intent of getting on and picking up pace but wanted it would be helpful to have your view on the same. Thanks in advance !
1. Have you enrolled for capstone 2? It gives you the best practice for cases. 2. Are you working full time? If yes - How much time off do you get? 3. It depends on your readiness in the technical area. If you are a recent CA you might be aware of IFRS etc and more recent with the knowledge. You need to give more time for studies if you are starting just now. 4. Make a plan for every day and start working towards it. If you need further help please email me at canadacpaonline@gmail.com All the best
@@canadacpaonlineacademy4451Thanks for your response. 1. I have not enrolled for capstone 2. But I have subscribed to prepformula wherein case marking would be done. 2. Yes, working full time. I should be able to get 1.5/2 weeks time off for prep before exams. 3. Got it. I am not recent CA but I was in touch with IFRS till 2019 before moving to Canada.
Hi All, the interview was very good, real and inspiring. I am also pursuing CPA CFE. Just received my letter of good standing from ICAI. Can i submit application in May or June? So that i can pay only half f the yearly fee. Because i want an access to the online course material so that i can start studing
Hi thanks for this video. How long before the exam did you finish technicals? Also were you memorizing them? How many weeks did you take time off from work? And lastly did you follow capstone 2 schedule to write cases? Thank you
@@healheals783 completing the technical reading is the first piece of the puzzle. Finish it early in the process and then keep revising. You dont have to memorize it as such but have to know the concepts well to apply it in a case setting. Anything between 3 to 5 weeks is a good study leave. And last but not the least a big YES for capstone 2. Follow the schedule and debrief the feedback from the markers.
