You can see the flow of a heartbreak.....1st thinking "it what it is" (Love Scenario)..... Then afterwards.... You feel like Killing Me..... Them Goodbye Road..... Then I'm OK

😂 Funny how you said you didn't have much experience in that department... But B.I the Songwriter was famously single.... Never had a girlfriend. So he had to write all the songs through inspirations from comic books, poetry, movies, and conversations with his friends. So basically you had more experience than B.I 😂

Finally, I get to see your reaction to the song that made iKON one of my ultimate bias groups. And it's because this song showed me the genius that is B.I. He gets you to sing along to a song that is about a not-very-nice person.
The thing that is impossible for most international reactors to get is that it is NOT a classic break-up song. Everything about the song is a trick.
To really understand the lyrics of this song, you need to look at it through a linguistic point of view, rather than at face value. There is a surprising hidden meaning that cannot be expressed through a translation.
The very expression this whole song is based around "죽겠다" (jukgetta), or "Killing me" in everyday Korean is mostly used in a light-hearted manner. In comparison, we use something similar in English. For example, "This is so boring, I'm going to die." Of course, no one is dying, but this is how the expression goes. Same with 죽겠다. It isn't used seriously. The very title of the song is sarcastic! You should already not be trusting the narrator. (Which for a writer like me is an awesome use of word play!)
The listener is meant to think that the narrator is singing of regret over a relationship that was ended. He seems to regret the outcome of breaking up with HER. And he is hit with an unexpected feeling of missing HER. You think he's lonely for HER.
But at the end of the song the lyrics change slightly and suddenly you realize the entire song is about something completely different. The whole group even sings it twice just to emphasize it!
"Is it because of this painful longing?"
"Or is it my selfish loneliness?"
The narrator stops singing of love altogether in those exact two sentences. It's not regret over a break-up because of lost love, but because of a return to loneliness. It isn't love that's stopping him from moving on, it's selfishness. It's the fact that he no longer HAS a significant other. He doesn't want to lose HER out of a pure need of possession. Not possessing in the literal sense of owning something, but rather just knowing he has someone beside him. It doesn't matter to him who that person is, only that he doesn't have to be alone anymore.
So no, missing HER isn't "killing him", it's just a minor inconvenience. Which is why he uses that particular sarcastic comment 죽겠다" (jukgetta). And this is where the 2 lines of the song at the end explain everything. The whole sincerity of the narrator's feelings is being questioned. With the actual use of the expression Killing Me in South Korean culture and these two lines, the entire song is flipped upside down. It's not a break-up song in the classic sense, it's the narrator realizing he never really loved her at all. He was just using her to fill up his vast loneliness. He was selfish in every way possible in the relationship and he's still selfish because he's singing this song to get her back so he doesn't have to be alone.
Genius.
This is a club banger but yeah imagine wasted, so heartbroken and dancing this on the club. Damn iKON
This song is my favourite from iKon, I am ready to listen to the last part on repeat forever, it sounds so good! B.I. is a genious to write such songs for iKon!

a lot of people have already recommended goodbye road (my absolute favourite song of theirs) to react to next which i'm totally for, completion of the trilogy and all, but i feel like music video and lyric wise you'd really enjoy "i'm okay", so i can also only recommend that one! besides killing me and jinhwans solo blue moon it's definitely their most aesthetically pleasing mv!
it's also their last release as seven members. definitely recommend a live stage that came out around the same time as the song so hanbin is still in it. he's the one who wrote all their songs prior to his departure from the group.
The set is gorgeous, true. YG actually used this built set in several mvs including "Anthem" which is my favorite idol duo rap (Bobby and B.I) and yes, even more so than GD and T.O.P's Zutter which is a close second, but I digress. I think it was also in a BlackPink mv but I may be wrong. If you want to continue with the "trilogy" the next song would be GOODBYE ROAD.
Technically, LOVE SCENARIO, KILLING ME and GOODBYE ROAD are a story told in trilogy form but also I'M OKAY is the "extended version".

I like that your reaction video was educational and informative. Thankyou for that. I was also very impressed with these set designs. I also like to mention, whenever a song goes viral, artists will typically try to make another hit song by making it sound similar to the first one, but it will sometimes end up like a copycat version. After the success of Love Scenario, I think it was a great choice for Ikon to come out with a darker, angry, frustrating version of a "break up" song and worked with a whole different genre of beat that's much more distorted and edm/house sounding. And they pulled that off so well to go with the theme. Someone had mentioned that B.I compared both songs to Jekyll and Hyde; one side is good and the other evil which is such a cool concept imo. What a genius.

Actually Ikon is hiphop BG. But they do all genre, and their ballads so so good. Before love scenario, sometimes their shows their 'abs'. But cause that LS, many children show their concerts. So until now, no abs anymore 😂😂

one thing about iKON when performing live is that during those spoken back tracks they really don't lipsync it purposely, they will show you "NAH DAZ ME BUT NOT ME RIGHT NOW" LOL, the only one thing i remembered (actually it was Bobby, he was forced to Lipsync on stage) during a performance of his solo in 2017 for his song I Love You, he's sick and lost his voice, he could barely speak and (take note, during that time iKON's been going back and forth to Japan, Korea and China for concerts, performing 3x
a day and another survival show) and that was the only time he's able to promote his solo in Korea and he's heading back to Japan right after and he cried backstage after performing feeling he cheated his fans and also ashamed for not giving the performance they deserved. it was actually well known that he's the idol who cried because of forced lipsyncing....

Love Scenario, Killing Me and Goodbye Road are break up trilogy. The songs are continuation of each other showing the phase of break up.
Love Scenario - When they first break up. We met, we fell in love and then fall out of love. I will cherish those times as good memories kind of feeling.
Killing Me - When it finally hit you. That she no longer here and you miss her so much. But wonder if that feeling was love or just their selfish loneliness
Goodbye Road - When they finally able to let her go. Wish her nothing but happiness. Hoping that she will forget their memories and live happily

This is totally my own opinion, but this MV was probably the most expensive set iKON ever get in their time in yge. They finally spend some money for them after Love Scenario hits. The rest MVs was cheap green screen and sighhh.. Glad they left!
