  • Today I go over how to use a Fluid extractor to do an oil change on my Audi S4. This tool is awesome because it can be used on a lot of different brands and models like Honda’s, Acura’s, BMW’s, Jeep’s and plenty more. This not only will save you time but can help enable you to start doing oil changes on your own and save you more money!
    I also go in depth a about how FCP Euro works and why it’s a great company, for example, they have a lifetime warranty on anything you buy as long as you can physically put it in a box and return it but you do have the purchase the replacement first then return the original one you bought. Here are some items you can do this with for example:
    •brake pads, rotors, even calipers
    •Oil, Oil filters and even the the drain bolt
    •Spark plugs, Hubs, windshield wipers??
    --------------------------

    FCP Euro oil change kit for Audi S4 $66.63- www.fcpeuro.com/products/vw-a...
    And even the Spark plugs I ordered, NGK iridium. $11.28 each x6= $67.68- www.fcpeuro.com/products/audi...
    Thanks for watching guys the support for the channel is amazing it means the world to me thanks for watching!

    ESC tuning just lowered the price on the extractor to around $50. I enjoyed your video and feel better about the crush washers I purchased for the drain plug . On the same day I got the extractor. I had a MB with 350K plus and every change was through an extractor. Only way to go.

    I find that using an extractor connected to an air compressor works better for me. The oil filter on my 2016 A4 is a "regular" filter which makes it a lot easier and cleaner to change than just the filter shown in the video. I prefer using Amsoil european oil and filter.

    I believe the oil filter housing reads “25 + 5 nM” basically meaning up to 30nm is an acceptable torque for the filter housing. I could be wrong though. I always set my torque wrench to 26nm just to be safe.

    • @KotaPerformance
      @KotaPerformance  3 года назад +2

      I usually pull about 6.5 out of the engine and there’s probably about .5 that’s floating around in the engine but really nothing to worry about since your replacing most of it and it will still run through the new filter to catch anything

    Why use the oil suction over draining?

    • @KotaPerformance
      @KotaPerformance  3 года назад +1

      Faster and easier service, there’s myths out there that people say it’s better to pull the drain plug to get all the oil out and that the suction does get all of it out but I find that this method removes 95-98% of the oil from the system and even when you remove the drain bolt it does not remove 100% of the oil as some will stay in oil lines, channels in the block for cooling and the heads of the engine. The rest of the oil that stayed in the system will get cycled through your filter which is why it’s there to help keep the system clean! Hope this helped answer your question

    So what do you do with old oil? your not sending that back to FCP euro? You send back the empty containers and then they credit you? I am in NY also FCP is 1 hour away from me sounds like its worth going there for service.

      @@KotaPerformance Hi Kota so I changed my oil today using the extractor and I it was super easy except when I went to start up the car after I was done. Upon start up it sounded more rough than ever, I know oil had to get pumped into circulation but man it made an ugly noise. So I let it idle, 40 seconds into idle the low oil pressure light came on and said turn off engine. I double checked the cap and made sure I torqued down the oil filter ( no crescent wrench lol) and was like wtf...it didn't go away I left the car running about a min after the light came on I didn't think this would throw an error. Killed engine then waited a min started it up again the oil was circulating no rough start up noise, but then the low oil pressure light came on again. I let it idle for another min still didn't go away, then I had to move my car because someone was pulling out and I moved it like 10 feet in idle and then the light went off. Let it idle for another 5 min, then took a test drive no more light....is this normal for the low pressure light to come on for any period of time? thx

    • @KotaPerformance
      @KotaPerformance  3 года назад

      @@davidlopez8953 hey David, I would say definitely not normal to throw that low oil pressure light like that, the car is trying to tell you that something is wrong and it’s trying to protect itself before something catastrophic occurs. I’m really not sure what would have caused that, the only think I could ask is did you remember to fill the car with oil after? It may sound silly but surely it’s possible and people have done it. Also if your car has a dipstick to check the oil, check to see if the oil is too high, the extractor can’t get all of it out so sometimes your see an entire quart still in the system, if you put all the oil you got into there you could have over filled the system. Good rule of thumb is to replace only what you removed. This is my best advice to start from there and if it’s over filled remove a little and check again

    Good video for showing how to. I appreciate it. BUT Get some gloves my man, ballin outrageous with the bling'd out wristwatch but cant get some gloves! I know its a pandemic but even ur mamas dish washing gloves get u there lol
    My man, What is going on with your supercharger core bleeds? I get the premise at first, but aren't creating another opening for the waterpump to flow less and recycle??? The pump will push water into the the core and some water will be forced directly back into the reservoir through the top of the core. Unless I am missing something you will have a decent amount of hot water recycle....
    Not hatin. Food for thought.

    • @KotaPerformance
      @KotaPerformance  3 года назад

      Hey man thanks for the input! This is my only time to get my hands dirty so I appreciate the times that I can and as for the bling Rolex made this watches right they can take a lot of bearings and stay pristine! Lots of people use them daily in a lot of different work fields but to each their own haha, as for the SC res. The thought is that with an additional exit for the coolant you create less pressure in the system which can help prevent intercooler failure (leaks) and help get the hot coolant out of the coolers faster since this system uses a dual pass design it flows front to back then back to front so the other idea for this is to get the coolant out of the coolers on the first pass so it doesn’t heat up as much. As for the reservoir it’s directly to the inlet of the coolant pump which routes it to the beginning of the HX which is where the outlet of the coolers go to anyway so they essentially follow the same path 👍🏼

    • @christos8189
      @christos8189 3 года назад

      @@KotaPerformance Ha! ay if you got, it flaunt it! Do you!
      I get the idea of reducing pressure inside exchangers. That makes sense to protect them.
      Now, your reservoir is routed in after the front HX but before the inlet of the coolant pump?
      Right??
      What reservoir is that and where did you get it?

    • @KotaPerformance
      @KotaPerformance  3 года назад

      @@christos8189 the reservoir for the SC is routed before the pump, the intercoolers are the last step in the process of circulation before they restart at the pump again, so in process how my set up is pump - HX - PLM Expansion tank (holds more coolant for the entire system) - Sc in - Sc out - then back to pump. Let me see if I can find the link to the res I bought it off of eBay there is some other hardware required for the build

      @@KotaPerformance Thanks for the listing. You da man.
      I may be confused because I cant see your actual setup, but I do think you are reducing you cooling efficiency by routing the SC hx bleeders back to your expansion. Its creating a loop of hot water that is not cooled. A cost for reduced pressure protection. Hard to truly prove though, again just trying deduce. But fuck it, I mean saw you launch your whip with the .034 2 step on IG and I was like oh hell yah!!! Stay up My G!
