I feel like Walsh jumped the shark last night. The home jerseys, pics of Brady and Bonds and numbers of Serra greats on the side line, the wacky formations. It was sad to see. I've been a fan of Walsh since he played at DLS so it was kind of sad to see. The antics only riled up MD.
I watched this whole game and Mater Dei is obviously the better team but you have to give Serra some credit. Although undersized, they played a very physical game which many these highlights don’t show. Mater Dei players have played teams around the country but I’m sure they’d agree that Serra can hit hard. It’s the size, speed and skill position players Mater Dei has that they couldn’t possibly match up with. I went to St. Francis but proud of how Serra played
Few years from now you’ll be another De La Salle. Great dynasty but NorCal can start stacking talent too. Don’t forget who ran shit all throughout the 90’s-2012
THIS IS ALMOST A NO BRAINER. THE TONE WAS SET ON THE OPENING KICKOFF AND ESPECIALLY WHEN THE QB GOT BLASTED AND LIST HIS HELMET... 10 STOOD OUT DEFENSIVELY FOR JSERRA(MINUS THE DIRTY PLAY) BIG PROPS TO MATER DEI ! EASY WORK FOR THE D-LINE#89 BALLED OUT!
Number 5 in Serra was also a force but they just got overwhelmed. MD is stacked beyond belief. They even have a Brock Bowers clone who was only a freshman. McManus may actually exceed what Rollo has done the past few years.
Bro put Gorman in the Trinity League and they won't look so pretty anymore. They're a great great program but lack a competitive schedule. For the record... Mater Dei reached out to them in the spring and even offered to travel to Vegas, Gorman declined.
Just to set the record straight: According to MaxPreps ranking, released Dec 11, Mater Dei finished THIRD in national HS rankings, behind Bishop Gorman (NV) and Chaminade-Madonna (FL). High School Football America 100 ranks Mater Dei #1, but that was released Dec 8, the day before California state finals were played. Also, HSFA admits their national championship "crown" is unofficial. I don't know about other states, but California (CIF) actually used MaxPrep's rankings to set their playoff brackets.
To me those national rankings for high school football are so silly and not very accurate. Things have also changed a lot over the years, I remember back when you basically had to go undefeated to have a realistic chance at being voted the #1 team in America, but today sometimes 1 loss can still get you a national #1 ranking in some polls lol. I kinda feel like high school football is starting to turn more into like NCAA football, where the voters are starting to overlook losses and focus more on just strength of schedule and also popularity of the school. However, I'll at least give MaxPreps and the USA Today credit, those 2 polls are pretty much consistent every year with how they rank the schools. If you lose just 1 game, it is very hard to finish #1 in a MaxPreps or USA Today poll lol.
hence this is why the term "mythnical national champions" is some times used and it can be i guess used in a case for mater dei. the term was more prevalent in the college ranks under the old college BCS bowl national title system. @@justinexplainseverything1554
@@justinexplainseverything1554 Ya but Mater Dei literally only loses to Bosco and vice versa. Them losing to each other in an iconic rivalry game when both teams are always top 3 should have no affect on the rankings rather than to swap places. Schools like BG on the other hand are afraid to schedule strong national competition.
Lmao mater dei smacking any team from GA, don’t play yourself. Mater dei reached out to top ga schools but all turned them down, creekside stepped up tho, props to them even tho they got their shit ran 62-0
@@michaelcrosby8643 🤣 its an undercover trend bro! you’ll be surprised on how many parents do it. I get it tho looking out fir the future of their kid but when you hit college and up everyone can play!
That was a beat down. Serra DB's got torched.
Love how Serra was acting tough and talking all game. Almost like they forgot to look up at the scoreboard from time to time

I like Mater Dei, but I thought Bishop Gorman was #1 in the Nation.
MD's defense would be too much for them IMO
Are they gonna play? Would their respective controlling bodies even allow that after season?

@@meyer7312 Gonna need receipts on that. I have no dog in the fight but talk is cheap.
@@SurfkloneThey played a few years ago and Mater Dei spanked that ass.
National Championship? Sure. They're also having National Championships in Florida and Texas to. Who knew?
They beat Florida and Texas teams every year check the schedule lol have been for years
There wasn't a single publication that had a TX or FL team winning the Natty.
Last names on the jersey in Highschool is crazy but Cali has those celebrity Academy rich schools
These are regular Catholic private schools wtf are you talking about ???🤣
You sound remedial

It’s embarrassing to watch Serra play the best socal team in the nation! One day Serra gonna upset them!
that's only if ya undefeated, they arent

False. CIF used CALPREPS’ rankings for playoff seedings, NOT Maxpreps. And more polls ranked MD higher than BG. Facts.
There are more polls . Most polls have Mater Dei as National Champions. BG has 2 . MD has 4 polls

The nation all know who Mater Dei and Bosco are......why don't you goofy Georgians bring your butts down to cali to get woken up.
Creekside in the state championship rn lol, and remember when 13 ranked Jserra whooped State champion and #1 in GA Milton.

Every state does it
