It’s crazy that even after a possible career ending ACL injury he’s still the best CB in the world and if u disagree you don’t know jack…imagine if VVD had a CB partner half as good as him or 30%…lovren was old and out the door, Matip was a free transfer and monster is supposed to be that guy full France international but he’s still got ways to go where as CVS is in his prime and needs a proper world class partner cuz it’s basically him and Allison back there dealing with everything since Trent can’t defend and is always bombing forward which is his job but shows how many fires VVD has to put out EVERY WEEK

ive seen a few people say “vvd was lucky with that offside goal” like no he played it perfectly, if he ran further he wouldve given him a chance go go through but he stopped so he couldnt. If he stopped too late and he got through it would be bad but no it was perfect
I think the main thing people aren’t realising, is how much impact he has on his own team. The moment he returned from his injury, the entire team started playing better, they are so much more calm and collected when Virgil is playing
