Chase is all mental. Jett was winning everything on the same bike at it rattled him. I hope he does well on the KTM. Seeing Chase, Jett, Hunter, and Eli racing at their best would be so epic.
He’s not doing so much better. 22 was a bleh year for Kenny. But you forget in 21 he was leading the points heading into Atlanta. He also won multiple races that year in dominating fashion. I think he’s happier at Suzuki with the people around him, but his results aren’t necessarily better.
Kenny needs the ability to do his own schedule. Full seasons arent good for him anymore..hence the 1 natty he raced and the 3 SMXs..his body just isnt the same since that 17 crash.
Big difference, MXGP bikes doesn't need to be production bikes like the AMA so there's probably gonna be a big difference with every Factory MXGP bike vs Factory AMA bike
I think it comes down to the Honda not complimenting Chase’s riding style. If you compare Jett to Chase, Jett rides very far back on the bike. He’s always stretched out sitting on the rear fender. Chase rides in a more neutral, or proper position, moving the COG forward. Maybe Jett was able to adapt and Chase couldn’t.
People who ride a lot standing up tend to lose the front end more and you can’t save it because your feet can’t react quickly enough, if your sitting like dungey you can catch it with your foot. I think these teams are getting a bit big and some riders need their space.
The problem with chase is chase it's in his head and cracks under pressure.Yes he is fast but there a fine point between riding within your ability and riding over your head. It's only about 30% the bike and 70% rider with bike performance. Chase has alot of fine turning to improve and moving to a bike that can't win isn't going to help as we might fine he crashes more this year
People need to go watch chases recent podcast with on Adam ciancirulos podcast. Chase says it wasn’t really the bike, but really more that he was just pushing the limits trying to go as fast as possible. I think that chase took a lot of responsibility for his crashes
So true ! I had a awesome contact whit HRC but left for ride the SR500. Because how they did treat me .. And I did return as a semi/private Honda CR500 in the 90s and that different story there I was the one deciding what to change or not to change.... Thanks Öhlins for your support over the years 👌
i think chase will find a bit more lean angle grip in the front with steel with the lateral flex the aluminum frame of that honda doesnt seem to have that flex
The problem Chase had at Honda was that Chase wasn't getting the same treatment he got last year when racing Eli. It was all about Jett this year and Chase wasn't able to use certain parts that Jett was using. Specifically the HRC shocks. That's what I heard. It may sound foolish but that's why Ken Roczen left Honda. The exact same reason, Ken wasn't able to use the same parts as Chase and Gasjer was using, specifically the frames.
thats not how this works.... no team is holding back parts favoring a certain rider, thats insane. In the states every team has to run the production frames, only in MXGP can they make changes.
That's where you're wrong. The US production rule is true but not enforced. Chase was running a gusseted frame last year. Literally, watch Ken Roczens interview on why he left Honda. He explains all of this.@@m9xr
and considering I heard this information from Chase's dad makes it all valid. At an IL dealership, his dad said Chase wasn't getting the same parts as Jett so I don't really care what you believe mate. Chase was sick of Honda dog. He wanted to be the focal point in which he was not at Honda.@@m9xr
Exactly, it's only cheating if they get caught. If you think teams are abiding by the book, you are drunk. Teams push every button as far as they can. Lots of riders make frame modifications and Chase was quite open about his.@@unstoppableplayz6948
They didn't really talk about it, but I think Kenny's dad talking crap about Honda when they left was stupid ridiculous. I'm sure they worked with him plenty to get the bike to where he was comfortable, but it was easier to throw shade at the team instead of just admitting it wasn't a good fit for them.
Chase is gonna shine on the ktm ,, a team that will put all there efforts and resources into him ! He isn't fighting for attention and his biggest competition is sitting right next to him , I think we'll see a different chase in 24!
@@stephenwilliams4583 his mechanic has absolutely nothing to do with bike setup and testing.. he just bolts parts on and takes them off.. not saying they don’t know or aren’t talented but their mechanics don’t open engines (aside from changing clutch plates between motos) or open suspension.. they will take an entire engine out and send it out for a rebuild or like star does them in house but still has specific people that only built engines the mechanics don’t
Pretty sure the ‘97 CR absolutely WAS the issue for McGrath…. So saying it can’t be the bike is false…. And I can say that from experience, given I’ve been riding my ‘97 CR250 since New in 1996!!! It’s TERRIBLE!!!!
You have to remember Chase was never supposed to win SX, or battle Eli for a champ. Honda had Roczen with Sexton as their number 2. Then Jett was supposed to come up and be their next number 1. Sexton threw a wrench in that by performing so well, but him leaving was inevitable unless he did so much better than Jett that Honda was forced to go with him as the #1 instead. That didn’t happen though so now they got the two brothers 1 and 2 which should be less drama for them. I imagine at some point Hunter will be tired of #2 and move on as well. This should be really good for the fans since the two best guys are on two teams that really want to win. KTM will do everything they can to fix Chase whether it’s the bike or mental.
What I'd like to know...was they gonna keep chase if he wanted to stay? 3... 450 riders? ..cause hunter would be moving up..I bet he would have been gone after 24 season if he did want to stay..
Chase is fast. Chase’s mental game is Charmin soft. IF he ever gets a handle on that he will be a real contender. Until then, his dumping the bike when the pressure is on will continue to be a meme.
Well, actually, it's like you have a new, better-looking girlfriend(Jett), but you want to keep your old girlfriend(Chase) on the side.......So you're not really that crushed she broke up with you.....I hope Chase kicks everyone's butt next year, and you regret letting your old girlfriend breakup with you...😂😂😂
They both did well. No one else even came close to those two in lap time or race finish. Jett was just a little better last year. If Jett wasn’t there chase could have rode at 90%, never crashed and dominated outdoors. Essentially what Jett was doing until Chase arrived.
I don’t buy this charade; Honda wanted the Lawrence brothers… those are their franchise players… they were never going to field three 450 riders certainly not with all of them get paid what they deserve.
I think most of these riders ride heavy bottomed. They aren't riding light in the mid section. They need to go do some yoga, dance lessons or horseback riding lessons to lighten their core and straighten their backs. I would keep them off of a mountain bike, where it only sits you in one position, heavy on the front end, heavy bottomed and hunched over. Mountain bikes hurt their core. They need to get their hips moving and stomach muscles involved. Watch Jett, he rides pretty, light in the bottom, hips, straight in the back. Lars, lighten Hunter up and other team mangers get these guys to lighten up their cores and bottoms.
It a honda thing for sure! Ive ridden them all, hondas are known for it. Its so obvious, the only people who ask are dudes that haven't ridden then. Duh! Even donut boy fell over going straight down a hill!

Doing better? How many mains has he won on the Suzuki UNDER the ama supercross series ? Oh that’s right….
Kenny was thrown of the bike because it kick up in the rear.
He had some bad crashes on Honda.
I'm happy he left HRC.

That argument doesn’t even matter , jett went 22-0 so there’s obvs nothing wrong with the bike

I'm curious how close the KTM Chase will be riding to the one Herrlings rides.
Big difference, MXGP bikes doesn't need to be production bikes like the AMA so there's probably gonna be a big difference with every Factory MXGP bike vs Factory AMA bike
Chase, I think, is all the hype with the Lawrence brothers on the team was figuring it’s time for a change.
If Chase has the same front end problems on the KTM that could shatter his confidence so badly he is Never As Good as he's been the last couple years
Chase needs a mental coach

Jett rides the 'proper ' position man. How do I know? He wins. The riding style is 5 years ahead of the rest.
The problem was Honda was seeing the future in the Lawrence brothers. Read between the lines, enough said!
I would NEVER want to be in the same camp as my main competitor

Only magic machine in the paddock is yellow.
Regardless of the bike, if a rider losses confidence in the machine no adjustment will fix the mental side side of the equation.
Honda has a long history of losing premium riders. All for the same reason.
