The oxygen scene was also possibly one of my favorite scenes from the whole season and I also had trouble breathing.

They had mentioned the prisoners in 4x05 when Raven was hallucinating the space walk and discovered the rocket. You can hear Abby and Jackson talk about prisoners sent on a mining mission and given nightblood by Becca. It is the same ship that shows up at the end.

So I checked, on youtube there is a video titled "The 100 4x05 Sneak Peek "The Tinder Box" (HD) Season 4 Episode 5 " Where they are talking about it however I didnt' hear them mention prisoners sent on a mining mission that were given nightblood.
That's because they slightly muted it because the focus was on Raven, who was hallucinating, they purposely muted it a bit so it gets overlooked meanwhile it plays a big part in what happened in the season finale. If you watch the episode (the start of ep5) with subtitles on, you can't miss it.
When we didn't see the spaceship I was like "Clarke, those are ALIENS"... and then I was like "Damn, I was just kidding lol!" And now thanks to you guys I know they're prisoners xD

Apparently, Eligius was mentioned earlier in the show. In 4x05, when Raven has the vision of floating (followed by the stroke), Abby and Jackson are talking in the background. You can't hear it very clearly, but if you turn on subtitles, you can read the following:
Jackson: "Abby listen to this. According to the record, Becca first developed what we know as nightblood for the Eligius Mining Company."
Abby: "Mining?"
Jackson: "Long duration space missions. Prisoners were put into hypersleep and given nightblood to protect against solar radiation."
Abby: "Hmm. Nice of her to share that with out ancestors on the Ark."
In 4x01, we also saw "Contact lost with asteroid mining penal colony"
I found all of this in a post on the The100 subreddit, originally posted about two months ago, when these episodes aired. Only now does that conversation actually make sense!
If you go back to episode 5 to where Raven was floating in her hallucination you can hear Abbe talking about criminals who were given nightblood to protect them from solar radiation and they would come to earth and collect minerals and stuff. so the "PRISONER TRANSPORT" on the ship that comes down could be another set of prisoners like The 100!

I'm guessing that Bellamy, Raven, Monty, Harper, Murphy, Echo and Emori are prisoners on the ship and have been for the whole 6 years. Maybe the people who held them captive saw that the ark was functional and hijacked it! So the group have been living in misery for 6 years.

JaredLeto IsLife I thought of that theory as soon as the episode finished airing and therefore was not informed about any news JROTH provided. As now this news has come to light I know my prediction is indeed wrong.
hahaha Emori's reaction to space was like "uhhh this is awesome", whereas Echo was like "WHAT THE HEEELLL" I found that so funny

Bell teamed up with Raven at the end so if he got with anyone it could be her. Especially if he continues the whole romantic interest with his co leader thing. Also the "Prisoner Transport" Can still be Bellemy and crew, just taking another ship from the ring down. Who's Maddie? What happened to the people in the bunker and....WHEN THE HELL IS THIS SHOW COMING BACK!!! I CAN'T WAIT.

What if the "prisoners" are Bellamy, Raven, Monty, etc? And they had to scavenge parts for a new ship to come back into North America because the Ark crashed?

The Eligius Mining Corporation was sent to a mining mission to the space and now they are back. They dont come from earth. That was mentioned in episode 4x05 while Raven was floating in beccas lab.
In the beginning of episode 5 season 4 (as @Bugsy2C mentioned) Jackson says: "According to the record Becca first developed what we know as Nightblood for the ELIGIUS mining company." To which Abby replies: "Mining?" Then Jackson says: " Long duration Space Missions. Criminals were put into hypersleep and given Nightblood to protect against solar radiation." And then Abby says: "Hmm. Nice of her to share that with our ancestors on The Ark." The ship that arrived at the end of the season finale was the ELIGIUS ship, and it said "Prisoner transport".
What if that ship arrived at the Ark and met with Bellamy, Raven and the others, because I mean, if they woke up (out of Hypersleep) I don't think the first thing on their minds is going to the ground? Or is it? What if that ship contains those people together with Bellamy, Raven, Echo, Monty, Murphy and Emori? Because what if they couldn't get back off of the Ring because they didn't have fuel, so they just waited and survived and then one day, six years and 7 days since they arrived there, that ship returned to the Ark, and together with the 'prisoners' on that ship Raven, Bellamy and the other returned to the ground, where Clarke is.
I don't know but I'm just saying it might be possible they are on that ship too.

I bet Bellamy could hear Clarke's messages but couldn't respond to them, Probably because of the the prisoner ship somehow. Since Bellamy knows that Clarke's alive, he waits for her and doesn't fall in love with raven or echo. Bellarke will happen because Clark was radioing him and thinking about him everyday for 6 years and if Bellamy could here these then he too would be thinking about her, wishing he could be with her. It will make they reunion amazing!!

Jason Rothenberg said in an interview that season 5 is like a reboot where the new ship and its prisoners are the 100 and Clarke represents the grounders. He also gave some information of the girl who is with Clarke.

Loved every second of the episode, but I wish they had shown a little bit more of what happened at the bunker, specially when the Skaikru people woke up from the gas. Like what was Abby's reaction, the reaction of the ones left outside, weather Kane remained inside... In any case, really looking forward to the next season! Excited by the idea of having another season like the 1st one, with a Lost-like structure using flashbacks!
I think they are keeping all those bunker scenes for season 5! I cannot wait to find out what happened during that time jump!
They already told us who the people on the transport will be or at least where they came from. If you look at episode one where Raven is going over the nuclear reactors with the others, you can see an article on the bottom right screen (if I remember correctly) about the missing mining colony. Then go to the episode where Jackson and Abby are talking during Raven's first hallucination of space walking. If you listen closely they were talking about Becca originally creating what they call night blood for a prison mining company. So now we see a prison transport ship so I am guessing it is from the missing mining colony.
I thought the red streak in her hair after 6 years in the wilderness was a nice comparison to the red hair she had in Wanheda parts one and two after she was on her own in the wilderness for 3 months. I also wonder if the red streaks are a way of foreshadowing events to come. For one Clarke had red tinted streaks in her hair while in Polis for season 3. So there could be a parallel to that. Or it could be signifying Wanheda will show the new arrivals why she is called the commander of death.
I also noticed there were 3 sleeping bags. Is it a spare or is there a third night blood survivor?
This episode was spectacular but I have to disagree with you Americ 😂. I honestly think that Bellarke will rise next season.
Kayla I'm so mad they didn't just say I love you in this episode!! like when clarke was leaving for the tower and bellamy to save monty I thought for sure she was gonna be like wait bellamy I just had to tell you I love you😂 or when they had there talk in the lab and she was like if I die I want you to know that even though I hated you at first I've always loved you, I knew these would never happen but this is what I wanted😂😂
It would have been sweet, but she wouldn't have said it because it would make it too hard for him to leave her. She says it, she articulates the feelings and he doesn't leave and then all her friends die.

Dunno, man. 6 years is a looong wait. Our boy Bellamy isn't that committed. Plus you got 2 smoking ladies there with only him available. Well, I stuck a poll and many people wanted Bellecho. If it IS them, then hell, Bellarke may happen but we'll get a murderous Echo to contend with.
Alright i put together my predictions and theories for season 5 and the backgrounds of everything thats been going on the past 6 1/2 years. i put it in 3 main parts. Clarke, Bellamy and the crew, and the future of season 5. not much i could predict for the bunker residents.
First off, Clarke's survival and status. she clearly got past the original affects of exposure to radiation, and is now immune to it. Secondly, The girl Clarke is with now, my assumption is she met her early on after the ship launched. The girl seems to be fairly young, maybe 15-17, when clarke met her, we could assume she was around 11 or 12, she may have taken her in, cared for her, became her mother like guardian, the way she wakes the girl up at 2:26 is what gives me this assumption, a very mother like way to wake someone up if you ask me :P. and in the time setting we are in now, clarke and the young girl have formed a mother daughter bond and she sees clarke as her mentor.
now onto the mystery ship, my immediate thought was, Bellamy, Echo, Raven, etc... all were taken from their ship and taken as prisoners of the new arrivals. This explains very well as too why clarke hasn't heard from Bellamy or any of the others all this time. Now, there are two ideas i have on who the new arrivals are, one i really hope, and one i really hate. 1st, the one i hate, Aliens. i don't have much to this theory, other than complete BS cliche writing. if this is cliche writing, here is an idea on what they could be there to do. Now that the earth has been from what they know wiped of all life, they plan to start colonization of the planet for there own people. you know, typical cliche "our world is dying we came to take yours BS" And now its Humans vs Aliens, i'm begging JR he doesn't let this happen hahaha. The second idea is That this could MAYBE be the 13 colony blasted from the ARK. I would assume of course that ANYONE from the 13th colony would be dead 100%. but knowing the BS Tv shows pull, i could see it as a very real possibility. They have maybe assumed right now that the others on the ARK are all that is left of the others, and are taking them as prisoners back down to the ground to work for them. (obviously wouldn't happen assuming majority of the people in the bunker survived.) so with this in mind, isee it going generally in this direction. (probably wrong) they plan to takeover everyone else alive on earth, and take it for themselves, they probably would definitley have some tension with skaikru for abandoning them, although this might be overlooked as this is 150 something years after all of this happened. now this could lead to a similar situation as my alien theory where its basically grounders + skaikru vs the 13th Colony. and it could possibly end in a way of one side going extinct/ being wiped out, (obviously 13th colony would be bye bye)
now, my last speculations for the future of season 5,
to sum it up in one word... "War"
These new arrivals clearly are not showing up on a friendly note. if there is anything i feel almost certain about, is that those prisoners are Bellamy and the rest of the crew. Its almost undeniable if you think about it. who else from space could they bring as prisoners that would affect Clarke and the others besides them. So now they are going to use them to their advantage to take over everyone. Secondly, A lot of people i think can agree that this was Octavia's season. i can see this season as going in 2 completely different directions. Direction 1 (the one i hope for) we saw at the end how Octavia is strengthening up to become the leader we all know she can be. And this season, she will lead everyone in the upcoming War and become the true leader we know she can be. Direction 2 (note i will kill JR if this happens. :P) is that this could possibly be her downfall season. I don't have much explanation as too what the downfall may be. but its just a plausible theory i could see happen in the show in one way or another.
Note that these are all just quickly put together theories from the last hour after watching the finale, so some of these theories may be highly improbably of happening. Tell me what you think, Do these seem plausible to you? I have so many more theories to express but this comment is already way to long anyways. if there are any other theories people have, please share them. Lets hope for the best in season 5 :D
Double2k you could've finished 3 english essays and would've earned an A+ on each of your speculations. Great predictions though! I read through all of your predictions but i feel as if these "prisoners, or aliens" could possibly be the 13 sector of the ark. In the sense we truly never found out where that sector floated off to. Or maybe there was civilization on mars? Maybe they're all mutated and fucked up. Not going to lie aliens or mutated humans, either way its going to be a great season.

Went from a simple 5 minute comment to half an hour *yikes my life* I found out pretty quickly after posting this on a JR interview that they are miners that a.l.i.e. Sent a long time ago before the bombs. They were put into hypersleep (cryogenically frozen) for a long period of time) causing them to resist aging from time. Now we can assume they are returning back home at this point everything else however seems to be possible throughout my predictions so far :D

The Showrunner, after the season finale, pointed out that there have always been sparks between Bellamy and Echo. He didn't deny the possibility of Echo and Bellamy hooking up in space. When he said that, I almost threw up. Bellamy-Echo combo makes me gag. I really hope that he held out hope for Clarke!!

I saw a great theory...
On the ship it says "Eligius Corp." and "Gagarin Prisoner Transport". Eligius means worty in latin. Gagarin is the last name of the first person in space - Yuri Gagarin. So this may be a Russian company that had it's own Ark but they never landed because they knew that Praimfaya would happen. After it ended they sent prisoners back to the ground to see if it is survivable. Wich turns the tides and reverses roles. Wonkru = Mountin men , Ark people and Clarke = Grounders , Russians = Skaikru (the100).

I don't think the arriving spaceship can be alien in origin, since it was written Gagarin on it. Yuri Gagarin was a very famous Russian Soviet cosmonaut - I doubt that non-human aliens would reference a human historical figure/person.

Calling this now: When Clarke reunites with Bellamy, he will be with Raven unbeknownst to Clarke. Just as Raven reunited with Finn but he had moved on to Clarke. It's a nice parallel with season 1, the only difference being that Bell will eventually come back to Clarke

I'm so sad that bellamy and clarke didn't just come out and say they loved each other, and I low key think either harper will have a child or emori or echo, just because they have been up there so long. I'm really interested to see who this new night blood "child" of clarke is, and if anyone in the bunker survived. Octavia better be alive!!

There is no way that all the times Clarke called Bellamy he didn't answer by choice Bellamy would of answered & would continue to answer every time she called. My prediction is that he is a prisoner & has been for quite a long time. I AM TEAM BELLARKE FOREVER & I ALWAYS. MARK MY WORDS AMERIC BELLARKE IS ENDGAME
Another thing...Now that Tasya Teles (Echo) is a series regular I'm looking forward to the expanding on Echo's character, the most we know about her is that she is a bad-ass fighter, loyal to who she believes is her people (which are now the 6 she's lived with for 6 years), also Ice Nation survivors may or may not still accept her, and we don't know much else. Ultimately what I got from her in the finale is that she was terrified and vulnerable but she's a great asset because she's strong as hell yanking that panel off, so that's a good thing too! She's a very good character that can be expanded upon, and I'm looking forward to it. Also as much as I am a fan of Bellarke, I think it'd be kind of funny to see a thruple of Belavcho going on a bit if nothing else maybe Raven and Echo though we can all speculate. But until it comes back we just have to wait miserably, still looking forward to seeing Echo's character expanded.

Abby vision makes sense now because as you said ravens vision help them find a solution for a problem they had and when Abby saw Clarke with all the lesions she thought she would die but really that was the solution she needed to test her to see that she would survive

This episode was amazing. I absolutely loved it from the very first scene with Bell and Octavia talking. Bellarke in this episode...damn. Too much to handle. The scene in the Ark, with all of them sharing their last breaths was so stressful, I had had trouble breathing too. When the spaceships shows up at the end I remembered one of your reviews where Americ was like

Murphy and Emori was going to go in that bunker on the island and they said there was food in there so my guess is Clarke went there and recovered, she was alone so there was enough food for her alone to survive.
I just found the show and I'm so surprised and amazed!
I actually understand echo, she wants to be a second in command, she's confident and all as long as there's 1 person in front, that's why she freaks out but starts to grow, it's her beginning.

Please explain this question: The whole reason Jara left the ark ring in space was because there wasn't enough oxygen in the ring to survive as there was a problem with the oxygen generator in the ring, so how did raven and the rest of the crew turn on the oxygen in the ring if there wasn't any working oxygen mechanise to generate the oxygen in the first place(when Jara was in the ark ring by him-self)?
They brought an oxygen generator with them from the bunker that Murphy was in at the beginning of season 3. That was what Murphy and Monty were pulling off the wall when Monty had to take his gloves off.
They put in a new oxygen generator in the ark that they got from the light house bunker, did you like miss that whole scene??

This episode blew my miiiind!!! I totally couldn't breathe during that oxygen scene either!! It didn't even enter my mind that they might do a time jump...I can't wait for next season, there are just so many questions that need answering!!! I hate waiting!!!

answer to one of your questions in the video: the space ship that came down at the end of season 4 episode 13 finale was from a different "ARK". You could call it another ark but it probably has a different name but basically it is another human space clan that went to space when the nuclear war went off (at the same time the ark went to space). I believe Jara said in season 1 that their were 13 more space clans that went to space when the ark launched. so basically i believe season 5 is kind of like season 1 in a sense. So my theory is that 1 of the 13 human space clans are following the same steps that Jara did, by sending 100 prisoners from their "ark"(what ever their space clan name is) to the ground to test the radiation levels to see if it is safe to come back to the earth to re-live just like Jara did to Clarke and the rest of the 100 prisoners. but Clarke is now going to be seen like a "grounder" for the new space clan that landed at earth seen at the end of season 4 episode 13. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Not sure what is going to happen with the people in the bunker in season 5 or raven's crew in the ark ring.

The ship is from a penal mining colony in the asteroid belt which was set up before the first nuclear disaster, which wasn't a war by the way - all the nuclear launch codes were set off by ALIE. Becca developed nightblood for the prisoners who were sent to the colony to protect them from radiation while they were in transit.

The name that was written on the ship was mentioned earlier this season or last season. They are apparently a meteor mining settlement, and the nightblood was used to protect the prisoners from radiation

Well Isaiah Washington who plays Jaha is not returning next season so probably not. Unless the reason he's not back is because Jaha died sacrificing himself to save people, I guess that could count as a redemption?
I don't know if anyone has addressed this yet but, i remember in season 3 allie was able to completely upload her backup to the ark. What if a remnant of that ai existed and were at odds with belamy and co. That could explain why so advanced technology and how some factions would rebel and ultimately become prisoners

Maybe the crew who went into space think Clarke died after she turned the power on, they saw her take her suit off and she got sick and Clarke did say she would have to get better after she got sick because that's what happened with Luna, so then thinking she died and it's also been 5+ years they would have got over her 'death' and might be living well in space so didn't come back down for that reason.
Another theory I think maybe people was already on the ark when they got there but they just didn't see them for a while because it's so big, maybe people from mount whether as there technology was so advanced so maybe someone went to the ark from mount whether and remembered Bellamys montys etc faces and took the as prisoners.

Aside from all the scenes you guys mentioned,I also loved the scene where Emori and Murphy share their oxygen with Raven,it was kinda selfless of them(yes I know they obviously needed Raven to survive those 5 years, but I doubt they were even thinking about that in that moment)Also when Emori wanted to give Clarke another minute even though she knew that could affect the rocket and going to space.
Americ, I also kinda thought for a second someone was gonna be pregnant ,I mean they were five years up there alone,they obviously got some...so like Raven and Echo shared Bellamy or something hahahaha just kidding anyway I doubt the writers would do this as it would complicate things a lot!

Just my theory: Clarke is dead, but she managed to install a new version of the "City of Lights" in the lab's computer. Her "daughter" is a new version of ALI, which is why she does not want "no more lessons today". The last two minutes of the episode are like a computer-generated event to keep her mind busy while she is dormant in the lab's computer. Clarke might be back in s5 as a counselor who spreads her wisdom via computer uplink or even come back once she is chip-implanted into another character. There was no food/water in that bunker to sustain her 5 years, after all.
My hopes of Becho slowly cling onto life, but Bellamy telling Echo how he didn't 100% trust her killed me a bit. Though I'm happy Echo is alive.

And as much as I am a hard-core Bellarke shipper, I don't really mind the idea of Raven and Bellamy, I think they both deserve hugs and lots of love so like, if they end up finding that with each other... I just watched the episode and I was cruled up in a ball with my sheets to my nose, crying, not breathing and so exited for the next season. I seriously can't wait until next year for this.
my faforite scene was when Bellamy and Raven where talking on the ark and he was like Are you with me? that was so intense.
i am pretty surprised by Clarke, I mean what happend to her hair and woooow her eyes are so intense, almost glowing. And who the f is this girl, I mean we get to know that she's a nightblood but what's really intresting to me is how Clarke found her.
I expect a Becho Baby too. Even if it would make a possible relationship between Bellamy and Clarke even harder, but yeah I also would like this. Makes a good plotline though.
But I hope that Bellarke will happen next season or after that.

Good news is that that ship looks like it can enter and leave the atmosphere at will so they can enact a rescue if the ring doesn't have a way down.
Maybe its a complete circle of some other civilization sending down 100 prisoners to test the land if it is survivable?
the producer said they mention a lost prisoner ship in the early seasons, also taking in consideration that the original 100 where also "criminals" these new ship and characters its an interesting plot twist now that clark is a "grounder" cant wait for season 5 my favorite show atm!! beating TWD
I loved this ep, but sooo many questions.
Am I the only one who thinks that the grounder Clark was with was her child??? That explains why Belark started to show through in this episode bc they both did it when they thought it was all over. It might explain why they had a 6 year time skip instead of the 5 that they said the whole season.
If I got it right, that little girl wasn't the only nightblood Klarke found. I think she spent the last 6 years (and 7 days) training them.
I also really liked the first scene on the ring where they are passing the O2 around and Monty is trying damn hard to tell Bellamy what to do. It was wonderfully shot and acted.
I don't think there's going to be Becho children, maybe some Bellen children. But I think there will be Bellarke next season.
I've often wondered if there were 14 stations in space or if there were a lunar prison that was forgotten in the chaos. I don't think it's alien in the "I'm from another planet" type of way OR even cooler, Mars colonist's returning home. It's in english and the set up is more human than alien.
the cell block ship is from a prison camp farther in space where the prisoners were getting sick from radiation. Becca was making that nightblood to keep the prisoners alive from space. Bellamy and the group were probably taken by force by the prison group to be taken down to earth. and they are now the new Skaikru

I just want to know where the seven are, or did they hitch a ride down with the miners.
I don't think the guys in The ARK would risk having more people because of the oxygen, food and water. So I disagree with Americ's prediction about Echo's children. However, I feel like that little girl with Clarke was her daughter. Maybe Bellamy is the father. Is not possible for a little girl to survive all that time alone, not even with night blood. And Clarke seemed to be really close with her.

i think because of the consistency of were like mount weather and welcome to mount weather.. that bunker with everyone in is going to have troubles with the prisoners from space just like the 100 did when they landed after a load of years. maybe something to do with one of them needing the others to survive could be an interesting plot.. just a guess tho
