I'm kinda glad bug month is over, not because it wasn't fun (I actually really liked all of the videos he released last month and the concept of giving love to the worst type is a good one), but because if it didn't stay a shorter contained event it would start to feel less special. I for one, think bug month deserves to feel special, and I'll be glad to see it return next year
It's actually far from the worst thing you can use in gen 9. It's a total gimmick but Tera fairy Pachirisu can shut down Mirradon better then almost anything else
@Cracksire with thunder and bolt you get the idea that it's something electricity related entrainment makes sense cus it's a phenomena in fluid mechanics of transferring gas particles or liquid to something else and in pokemon's case the ability
fun fact: sucker punch's japanese name (ふいうち) translates to surprise attack, which is why many pokemon without arms learn it and it is not considered a punch-based move
@jstar3382You mean how It’s called Blade Testing and it’s a reference to how Samurais would test their new katanas on unsuspecting civilians at night? Yes
The disparity between Dedenne, who is one of the worst electric types of all times, and Pachirisu, who is a literal world champion, will never not be hilarious
I m a dedenne supporter and i suggest trying choice specks ablity plus dedene along side another plus pokemon like amphiros Dedene reaches 317 i think and with max investment reaches 290 ish Sptak but its Dgleam will have stab specs boosted plus boosted resulting in 3.375 boost and you tera for even more damage Im coping and using it in doublesOU at 1500 elo
@ADITYAGIRI-xd7fl the super fang meme build will always be one of my favorites. Pair it with a decent sweeper and it basically puts every one of your opponent's mons on a 2 turn timer. Except ghosts.
I recommend looking at wolfs videos "bad pokemon that won tournaments" and "how pachirichu became a world champion" spoiler alert: pachi is weak af, it was just the only legal pokemon that could fill an important niche in that VGC rotation.
Stunfisk, the ground type immune to electric moves and electric type immune from being paralyzed, getting limber, the ability that prevents you from getting paralyzed, is hilarious and honestly offending on Stunfisk's behalf.
At least it can Tera Water and still be immune to paralysis. Half of me thinks GF made Tera just to make a usecase for redundant things like Air Baloon Levitate Rotom-Spin against a Mold Breaker Earthquake.
i guess you can kinda justify it if they learn the one that helps them more. For example if they have lower special defense then they get light screen to cover for that weakness.
Just felt this with my LG Nuzlocke, Magneton only gets Reflect and not Light Screen, which I was disappointed with because I actually really wanted Light Screen to keep my Lapras safe in order to set-up for Rain strats
@oriondye3212 Even then a Sucker Punch isn't an actual punch. It's a cheap shot / sneak attack. That's also why it doesn't get boosted by Iron Fist and can be used by many Pokemon without hands.
because its not. it has a niche, its just a stupidly difficult niche to play into where you need to constantly pivot into it to take advantage of its resistances and immunities while taking advantage of its speed, Airslash and Volt Switch.
@F14thunderhawk but the point of the video says it is? and myself and prob most other people would agree (not including Pokemon that aren't fully-evolved)
@SkyNinjaDelta As an ELECTRIC type, IT WAS ALREADY IMMUNE TO PARALYSIS (OK, it was not immune to all forms of paralysis in Generation 5, BUT STILL, RIGHT NOW, LIMBER IS USELESS ON STUNFISK).
@saptarkamondal5165 Jolteon is very fast, hits decently hard and has a coverage of Shadow Ball and Alluring Voice, which isn't stellar but also isn't bad either.
Jolteon has an official tournament history! Dating back to Gen 1, in fact, since it was a big deal in the first official competitive format (because it was one of the few things that could reliably stop Jynx in the format where it had a 75% Sleep move and a 30.1% Freeze move).
Gen V's battle subway was the first time I ever did the endgame battle tower type stuff in a pokemon game. I wound up bringing an Excadrill and an Emolga for double battles, with the idea that I'd use Earthquake on one and Discharge on the other to hit both of them while being immune to each other's moves. It only really worked at the lower tiers, and for ages I just wrote off those endgame areas in other games because I just figured they were beyond me. It was only much later that I learned the battle subway is one of the harder ones and Emolga is just *really* bad.
3:30 the animal its based of sucker punch makes a bit of sense. Lures fish in with the light on its head then attacks them b4 they realize what its connected to.
@88porpoise i would be pointless to make a move called sucker tackle just to cover the fact it cant punch and besides a donkey punch doesn't exactly use a "fist"
I love Emolga from a design perspective. It's probably my favorite Pika-clone. From a gameplay perspective though, it's hella weak. Maybe if it got an evolution and a better movepool.
In Gen II, I always did my best to catch the ones in the Team Rocket base. I felt bad about them being used as batteries. Maybe not my favorite Pokemon, but one of my favorite Electric types by far.
30:00 Emolga does get Tailwind in gens 5-7. But not in Sword and Shield (without transfer) which is what you were searching for. Tailwind wasn't a TM/tutor in that game.
3:15 Whenever I notice a move's name makes no sense for a certain pokemon, like sucker punch for Lanturn, I look up its original Japanese name. Sucker punch's name in the original Japanese just means "surprise attack". Also, a lot of pokemon without hands can learn Helping Hand, but in the original Japanese it's actually just "Help", and in the anime it looks more like a weird bolt of lightning that the user zaps their teammate with to make their next move stronger: no hands involved.
Dedenne’s Parabolic Charge was a godsend for me during my X and Y playthrough. Specifically the horde battles. Loved using the little guy. I was going through a RWBY grind at the time and named him Watts.
13:58 the idea of stunfisk flopping around the battlefield dealing like. "Death from the Ankles Down!" Type damage to a giant Xerneas IS pretty damn funny im ngl
4:24 Dragapult: Man it sure is nice being the fastest Pokemon in the forma- Electrode: SECOND! YOU'RE THE SECOND FASTEST! (Electrode gets Foul Play btw)
I would argue that Emolga is better than AT LEAST Minun. It may not have super fang, but it's a faster nuzzle user. It still has helping hand, and it does have two immunities. It has energy ball to hit ground types, taunt, and momentum. Also, you can never go wrong with fast air slash.
Agreed. I know I'm biased because Emolga is my favorite Pokemon, but while Plusle and Minun have some utility moves, they are so far outclassed by other Pokemon that serve the same purpose to ever find actual use. Emolga also has at least some coverage as a flying type and with its other moves, so I'll put it at 3 rather than 1.
emolga is better than the whole bottom 5 tbh i don't see rotom or dedenne ever being more useful than a fast decent spatk elec/fly type with half decent coverage even if it is lacking in support
I played around the idea of Plus Entrainment Dedenne a while back and another useful thing that it might get away with is deleting your opponent's ability. Realistically, none of your opponent's Pokemon are gonna have the Plus or Minus ability. So if you give Plus to one of their Pokemon, they won't have a partner to activate it and it just won't do anything. This can be useful against Pokemon who depend on their ability a lot, specially if they're like slow-ish. Plus you don't always need to use it for it to be helpful, the threat can force your opponent into riskier plays that give you an advantage. I tried to design a team that could actually use this tech effectively, but I'm really bad at analyzing the meta... I dream that Wolfie will one day take on this challenge himself and maybe have some fun in the process (not necessarily win)
@joaquinnavarro4167 That argument doesn’t hold water. Plenty of Pokemon without evolutions have been able to learn Hyper Beam. Pinsir, Delibird, Porygon (before either of its evolutions were a thing), Klefki, Dracovish, etc.
13:23 as the biggest Luxray fan I have ever met, I don’t want this, I want a winds and waves regional Luxray, because I think another big factor is just that Electric is mostly a special type so if it got some other type, maybe flying or water I think it could actually use its attack with some stronger moves of those types, and if it’s flying it could use some speed control and maybe work as a set up attacker… (this might just be copium… but like… I really like Luxray man)
whole heartedly agree! im not the biggest luxray fan ever but i always love new life being brought into these mons. i can imagine a luxray in the new region being some form of jungle cat as opposed to a lion and it'd benefit greatly from a new typing to match. honestly, it could be dark or fighting and that'd work too. just something that'd actually lean more physical than special in terms of move pool. also giving it an ability that actually benefits it's offense as opposed to something more supportive like intimidate. i think you hit the nail on the head!
As another regional Biggest Luxray Fan, physical electric types get shafted. In general electric types seem to get bad move coverage overall, but luxray is a very distinct example of 'electric type with shallow movepool'. Add to that, horrible speed (seriously, swap the SpA and Spd...) But all the good physical electric moves seem to be locked either to legendaries (Plasma Fist, Bolt Strike) or the Pika-Squad...
They could fix luxray buy giving him dark type and sucker punch, but i think that might be a bit too good. Guts boosted sucker punch might be a little to strong
@retrokoh Because the Japanese name for the move is more accurately translated as "surprise attack," it's just the English translation being somewhat of a misnomer that causes this disconnect.
I vaguely remember a super gimicky strat I used in Gen 8 for Emolga that was bait out an electric move with dragon dance Gyarados in to motor drive, encore then baton pass to like Bewear or something. Didn't work often but it was pretty funny when it worked
@Calibrewillowit's a reference to the video game series called "metal gear solid" , where there are characters called naked snake , liquid snake , solid snake , and big boss who is the original version of snake while the other three are clones . when wolf called rotom naked , i thought of naked snake and wanted to make a reference
Dedenne used to be my secret weapon in gen6 singles. Cheek Pouch Sitrus Berry with Recycle. If your oponent lacked a strong ground type I often won by default due to the recovery. He would sit on the field and Nuzzle or Super Fang while the open swapped around trying to find a mom capable of one shotting it, often only to realize the rest of my team was particularly good at elimination ground types. I can see how this would not work in doubles bc Dedenne cannot take two hits in a single round. It needs to take a single hit and Recycle, attacking mostly on switches.
Yeah I used Dedenne during the Gen 6 Fairy-only tournament, where everything was set to lvl 30 and Xerneas and Diancie were banned. Dedenne was one of the best checks to Mega Mawile, plus also being a pretty great partner for it. With the opposition paralyzed and/or chipped down to half health, Mega Mawile feasted. Yeah, Recycle + Cheek Pouch Sitrus was very funny.
Honestly, if it didn't have the Johto Special, it'd be great, at least in a playthrough. I have no idea why they gave it 90 90. It should've been like 60 120.
Not getting Ice Fang was tragic. It wouldn't even make it good. Paper thin defenses with underwhelming attack stats already screwed it. It was fun to use on a play through and that's about it
At least all of them are loved. Even the worst by technicality in Boltund was a heavily marketed Pokémon in Galar. All of them have potential for upgrades thanks to their popularity, even Emolga.
And here I used luxuray in my only attempt at a local tournament. I don't quite remember if it was even an official thing or what but with two legendaries allowed I knew sun teams would be a threat so I wanted a weather team to block it and I went for a Ninetails as snow setter. Now with it becomign a snow team I picked Calirex-ice as one of the restricted legendaries, for the other I picked miraidon. Chien pao was not restricted so i added that as an additional sweeper and Lapras as a bulky wall. Luxray was a pure support for me, proping intimidate and then volt switching out mostly
30:00 Wolfey, you should do a "Can I win with only 0.5 Pokemon?" video challenge Where you HAVE to use Emolga first The secondary pokemon cannot do ANYTHING (just constantly switches on every turn) And the moment Emolga dies, the run is over (you can fight normally after to not completely lose your sanity) And you have to try and get ONE match win like this In my opinion, that would be the greatest Pokemon achievement ever
Emolga is actually OP because it threw a wrench into the electric gym in black and white where my plan was to just win using ground types with ground type attacks
I really wish they could just switch it’s Atk and SpA, it would be much better as a special attacking support. Like a slow volt switch pivot with intimidate and snarl.
@omegamkx588 It would be a little silly to make a pokemon literally named after light become a dark pokemon, Unless they fully lean into that juxtaposition, Like some kind of fallen angel.
3:10 isn’t Sucker Punch just called something like “sneak attack” in Japanese? Probably why it gets that move, given that angler fish due hunt in the dark.
You forgot supercell slam for luxray. I played against a luxray in doubles uu where it was a Tera fairy play rough user, but I used mew to turn supercell slam against them by transforming into one
Imagine running Supercell Slam in the format where basically every mon runs Protect though. It's incredibly unreliable because you have to predict every time you use it or else face losing half your health.
I once used Emolga in a special online event that had only electric types, I had this bright idea of using Ion Deluge to turn opponents hyper voice to electric type and absorbing it with my Pokémon's abilities. Anyway in 45 battles I only went for it maybe 3 times and it worked only once. But it did work.
13:03 for some fun Luxray Calcs (I think they're worse than what was portrayed in the video): 252+ Atk Luxray Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Rillaboom: 84-100 (40.5 - 48.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery -1 252+ Atk Luxray Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Rillaboom: 56-68 (27 - 32.8%) -- 72.03% chance to 4HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery 252+ Atk Luxray Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Abomasnow in Snow: 136-160 (69 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Literally me bro I was actually dying when he had his mental breakdown about the pikaclones.🤣 He actually seemed like he was suffering from cringe of how bad they are.😅
I petition to give Rotom an appliance that's just an upgrade to its base form. Maybe some kind of power bank? A generator, a car battery... somewhere to store/access a lot more power.
Luxraye 3D model ever since gen 6 has made him look 10 times worse than he used to. For some reason they decided to make his ears bigger and move them a little more further closer to the front of his head. So now he looks more goofy than a bad ass pokemon like he used to.
It's weird because Luxray's original sprite in its release generation doesn't show the ears facing forward that much, if at all, but just about every model of it after that keeps pushing and curving those ears further and further forward. Don't really understand why.
21:09 You could classify Dedenne as a Support for Competitive OUTSIDE the actual battles (especially if you're not a hardcore breeder chasing perfect IVs) thanks to Pickup. Since Pokemon Sword & Shield, when a Pokemon with Pickup is over level 71, you have a small chance to obtain Silver Bottle Caps (and you can also get PP up starting at level 21). With the introduction of the EXP candies, you could get a Max Level, Max IV Pokemon without the need to breed using the Bottle Caps. Dedenne is the 3rd highest BST Pokemon that has Pickup but the easiest available of the 3 since Gen 8 (The 2 highest are Gourgeist [Trade evolution and only available on SwSh] and Ambipom [Aipom is only available in Violet DLC]) and still has a decent SpA stat to be used casually during the Main Story [Mine ended with Nuzzle, Super Fang, Parabolic Charge, Dazzling Gleam as a "self-healing, 2-turn" fighter]. If you only care about Pickup itself to give you items, anyone with Pickup works. Just be careful most Pokemon with Pickup are pre-evolutions and they lose Pickup upon evolving.
3:30 on what you could give Lanturn to make it stronger, I think having it get either or both of Sap Sipper or Levitate would be really funny. Basically playing an immunity shell game while shoring up one of its few weaknesses would be really neat, you could even take it a step further with an X and Y form if they really wanted to show it love. Levitate version gets a lot of speed and becomes a supercavitating shinkansen torpedo, sap sipper version becomes a big, mouthy tank.

...bug month... 😢
I'm kinda glad bug month is over, not because it wasn't fun (I actually really liked all of the videos he released last month and the concept of giving love to the worst type is a good one), but because if it didn't stay a shorter contained event it would start to feel less special. Wolfey really said "With Bug Month over, let's take a look at a collection of bug zappers"!!
That tournament run really scarred him 😂
We're lucky GF never made Bug weak to Electric too
@InjuredPelican bug should be weak to electric tbh. Combine that with removing Fairy's resistance to Bug and we're solid.
Nah, just make bugs super effective against fairies, we don’t need to bring down bugs at all
@InjuredPelican They should've, an electric racket is super effective against the mosquitoes.
Congrats to Pachirisu for having won Worlds once, thus keeping it off this list
It's actually far from the worst thing you can use in gen 9. It's a total gimmick but Tera fairy Pachirisu can shut down Mirradon better then almost anything else
@justindekoning9988really?? Any vid/post for this.
@tracesofthesunjingab It can, in theory.
28:36 Emolga is so bad that even 110 power acrobatics isn't threatening.
EMOL.....GA!!!!!!!!!
26:07 And that's how I learned that move is not called "Entertainment"
Came here to say the exact same thing lmfao
entertainment doesn't even make sense
@chxihiro Nor does hitting someone with a "bolt" of "thunder." Most of us simply don't question it when something in Pokemon doesn't make sense lol
@Cracksire holy strawman
Lanturn being an angler fish… yeah surprise attack makes a lot of sense in that context.
Beat me to it lol, nice work
Let's bring up the meaning of night slash next (it's so fucked)
@jstar3382You mean how It’s called Blade Testing and it’s a reference to how Samurais would test their new katanas on unsuspecting civilians at night?
Yes
@jstar3382 ahhh good ol crossroad kill
The disparity between Dedenne, who is one of the worst electric types of all times, and Pachirisu, who is a literal world champion, will never not be hilarious

There are other ways to Paralyze a Pokemon - Glare, Body Slam and Stun Spore all come to mind as non-Electric moves that can Paralyze.
@JanusHoW he’s saying stunfisk is immune to paralysis because it’s an electric type and also because it has limber
@Josenobi It’s only as of Gen VI that electric-types can’t be paralyzed at all
@JosenobiI know, but it wasn't entirely useless in Gen 5, where Stunfisk premiered.
17:07 "you can use it to hold groceries! you can use it to hold books!" NGL can't believe he didn't say "you can use it to hold bugs" 😂😂
My brain must be running the same OS version as yours because I was CERTAIN he'd say that

mons learning reflect OR light screen instead of both feels wrong
It's so upsetting seeing how many pokemon learn one but not the other, and how few learn both.
idk whims only having light screen but not reflect feels right imo
i guess you can kinda justify it if they learn the one that helps them more. For example if they have lower special defense then they get light screen to cover for that weakness.

Lanturn has Sucker Punch because its an angler fish and its hunting method is luring prey and then surprise attacking them.
The literal Japanese translation of the movie is surprise attack, so thats why it gets that move.
Localizers always screw stuff up
@oriondye3212 Even then a Sucker Punch isn't an actual punch. It's a cheap shot / sneak attack. That's also why it doesn't get boosted by Iron Fist and can be used by many Pokemon without hands.

Still lacks any ability to punch.
However it having "surprise attack" is pretty logical.
@88porpoise i would be pointless to make a move called sucker tackle just to cover the fact it cant punch and besides a donkey punch doesn't exactly use a "fist"
@medievalmaxeHe said that because the Japanese name for the move is "Surprise Attack"
Thank localization for it being confusing lol.
ye in japanese is not a punch attack at all , it uses the kanjis for unexpected/sudden and strike
@88porpoiseSucker PUNCH is a metaphor
is this “Bolt Month“?
edit: this is a very sad day to be an Emolga fan 😭
shock ⚡️ month

And a sad day to be a fan of Plusle and Minun
I love Emolga from a design perspective. It's probably my favorite Pika-clone. From a gameplay perspective though, it's hella weak. Maybe if it got an evolution and a better movepool.
...emolga is my favorite pokemon😢
Electrode isn't good, but it is iconic for the gen 1 jumpscares when you thought you were getting a sweet item and instead it's an exploding ball.
In Gen II, I always did my best to catch the ones in the Team Rocket base. I felt bad about them being used as batteries. Maybe not my favorite Pokemon, but one of my favorite Electric types by far.

Why wouldn't it get it in Gen 9, the current gen?
@benne@bennettwadekamper8238 Emolga isn’t in gen 9
Yeah, I thought I was going crazy. I specifically remember battling against an NPC’s Emolga in BW/BW2 and it using Tailwind.
I mean, it could be metaphorical.
4:24
Dragapult: Man it sure is nice being the fastest Pokemon in the forma-
Electrode: SECOND! YOU'RE THE SECOND FASTEST!
(Electrode gets Foul Play btw)
what format is regielekki not in but dragapult is?
@XSps445Any format that bans Legends but not Psuedolegends, like Reg H.
@CosmicPlatonixas well as Gen9 OU for single battles
So basically
Electrode still exist to be dragapult counter
@notster7114in what world is seventy five a decent attacking stat
@psych0ticpomp its the same as lanturn and thats #10, its only decent not good
@notster7114 lantern is also bulky and has a better move pool
I dream that Wolfie will one day take on this challenge himself and maybe have some fun in the process (not necessarily win)
so many years ago i'd just use Electrode Taunt to annoy the Darkrai that were everywhere online with that aoe sleep move
29:40 Why on Earth would emolga learn hyper beam? Imagine a squirrel shooting a laser at toy
funny
With very few exceptions, pretty much every fully evolved Pokemon can learn Hyper Beam. That's why.
@necrotoro2065emolga doesn't evolve and it isnt an evolution
@joaquinnavarro4167 That argument doesn’t hold water. Plenty of Pokemon without evolutions have been able to learn Hyper Beam. Pinsir, Delibird, Porygon (before either of its evolutions were a thing), Klefki, Dracovish, etc.
@joaquinnavarro4167fully evolved here just means cant evolve no more
God seeing eletrode on this list just reminds me the major difference between singles and doubles
No. It's also terrible in singles. It's in ZU.
@StormCrownSr OP was probably talking about older gens, where speed = crit chance
It go boom for nuzlockes.
@ImJustBagExactly gen 1, where it still isn't very good (NU at most iirc)
Add to that, horrible speed (seriously, swap the SpA and Spd...)
But all the good physical electric moves seem to be locked either to legendaries (Plasma Fist, Bolt Strike) or the Pika-Squad...
Hell yeah!
They could fix luxray buy giving him dark type and sucker punch, but i think that might be a bit too good. Guts boosted sucker punch might be a little to strong
Zeraora did stole Luxray's style with its mega it feels so weird
3:09 I mean you do know what Lanturn is based on, right?
Lol
the style of attack suits the Pokemon's theme, but the PUNCH doesnt suit the Pokemon itself
@retrokoh Doesn't suit Diglett or Wooper either
@retrokoh Because the Japanese name for the move is more accurately translated as "surprise attack," it's just the English translation being somewhat of a misnomer that causes this disconnect.
I vaguely remember a super gimicky strat I used in Gen 8 for Emolga that was bait out an electric move with dragon dance Gyarados in to motor drive, encore then baton pass to like Bewear or something.
Didn't work often but it was pretty funny when it worked
Of course Electrode would get jealous. The poor thing has Soundproof, earphones wouldn’t help squat.
Fun fact: I've only ever opened 7 packs of pokemon cards. 5 had Emolga, and 2 had holographic Yveltal.
I haven't bought pokemon cards since 2007 😂
30:35 Emolga is in ZA though. It's in the Wild Area with the Alpha Excadrill, where you start the Canari questline
Something about Wolfey complaining about how bad Electrode is, and him comparing Electrode to the sponsor in the next segment is very funny to me
17:49 “naked form”😭💔
there's naked rotom , liquid rotom , solid rotom and big "rotom" boss
@JOLLY-EWHAT😭🙏🏼
@Calibrewillow bro , no way you don't know metal gear solid🥀
@JOLLY-Eidk what you’re talking about I don’t understand English that very well
@Calibrewillowit's a reference to the video game series called "metal gear solid" , where there are characters called naked snake , liquid snake , solid snake , and big boss who is the original version of snake while the other three are clones . when wolf called rotom naked , i thought of naked snake and wanted to make a reference
Yeah, Recycle + Cheek Pouch Sitrus was very funny.
boltund had so much potential as a pokemon its a shame it never lived up to the hype
It was fun to use on a play through and that's about it
I love its design alot, always wished it could be better
@benpilled It was probably a victim of Gamefreak overvaluing its Hidden ability, like they often do.
Challenge only use bottom 5 pokemon of each type for a tournament
As a gen 5 glazer, i used to main emolga, struggled very bad until i realised that emolga is THE problem
7:50 YOU TAKE THAT BACK HES A VERY GOOD BOY
24:02 MandJTV crying in the corner 😭
Me celebrating on the number 1 choice cause how much of an pain in the ass it was in gen 5 game
24:49 HOW DARE YOU. BEST SHINY EVER I LOVE THE CHOCOLATE MOUSE. also lowkey goated in pogo great league
At least all of them are loved. Even the worst by technicality in Boltund was a heavily marketed Pokémon in Galar. All of them have potential for upgrades thanks to their popularity, even Emolga.
Emolga and Plusle are my favorite electric pokemon ;(
They say that every dog has its day. Unfortunately some scholars theorize Boltund's day may have come before it was ever born.
This has got to be the best thumbnail yet
Hell yeah! Was looking for a comment saying that!
I know changing the thumbnail is helpful for performance overall, but I really hope this one stays
Its gone
Why no one talks about how good and fun Wolfie's thumbnails are? Shoutout to the artist, poor Dendenne lol
I miss the old thumbnail already.
30:00 Wolfey, you should do a "Can I win with only 0.5 Pokemon?" video challenge
Where you HAVE to use Emolga first
The secondary pokemon cannot do ANYTHING (just constantly switches on every turn)
And the moment Emolga dies, the run is over (you can fight normally after to not completely lose your sanity)
And you have to try and get ONE match win like this
In my opinion, that would be the greatest Pokemon achievement ever
Emolga is actually OP because it threw a wrench into the electric gym in black and white where my plan was to just win using ground types with ground type attacks
TRUEEEE
Air Slash was ridiculous
It's also just a couple of levels below where Drilbur gets Rock Slide and then evolves into Excadrill IIRC.
Rock Tomb. You can get this move before challenging that gym and it trivializes it.
Happy 10 years of RUclips Wolfey!!!! Maybe game freak will celebrate by nerfing incineroar for you
Wolfey incineroar skin
Nah they're gonna celebrate by buffing it again. Somehow
@raiknightshade3442recover + follow me maybe?
10:30 Luxray deserves a rework to make it at least half as good as it looks!
What a sweet design. Top Tier.
I really wish they could just switch it’s Atk and SpA, it would be much better as a special attacking support. Like a slow volt switch pivot with intimidate and snarl.
I’m honestly shocked (pun not intended) that they didn’t give it an Electric/Dark mega evolution in LZA
I want it to get an ability that buffs it Electric attacks and allow them to always crit and go through subs.
Lanturn is my favorite pokemon, i was devastated to see it on the list. I still love him tho
5:55 yeah I found this out the hard way that it doesn't get reclect with the traded Voltorb in hgss lol 😅
My favourite electric type Pokemon is Emolga, who I am sure won't make an appearance here~~~
You forgot supercell slam for luxray.
@GamerUngluedI used tachyon cutter to ko it immediately
A base 100 move with 95% accyracy that can deal crash damage... Wolfe didn't forget it, he ignored it
@GamerUngluedI wish the XRay Pokemon have an ability that allows its attacks to ignore screens, subs and protection.
@TaLeng2023that ability is chandelure hidden ability
13:27 *the monkey’s paw curls
Mega Luxray introduced with +20 speed +15 in both defenses and +40 spa
Goodbye Bug Month, Hello Electric Month
I once used Emolga in a special online event that had only electric types, I had this bright idea of using Ion Deluge to turn opponents hyper voice to electric type and absorbing it with my Pokémon's abilities. Anyway in 45 battles I only went for it maybe 3 times and it worked only once.
But it did work.
13:03 for some fun Luxray Calcs (I think they're worse than what was portrayed in the video):
252+ Atk Luxray Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Rillaboom: 84-100 (40.5 - 48.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
-1 252+ Atk Luxray Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Rillaboom: 56-68 (27 - 32.8%) -- 72.03% chance to 4HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
252+ Atk Luxray Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Abomasnow in Snow: 136-160 (69 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
4:10 ferrathorn where have you been all this time we miss you
Notice how “Wolfe Glick” and “Goat” rhyme
Good one, but true Wolfe is a goat.
Thumbnail goes crazy
16:24 what. This should be in "guess if that move exist" or something series, I had no idea that galarian stunfisk has signature move
Right?? Lmao 😭
They started giving random Pokemon signature moves at some point instead of just the Box Legends. I forget when it started.
14:37 Houndoom mentioned but at what cost 😔
The fact that Houndoom will basically never get any buffs because Incineroar is the new favorite Dark/Fire type makes me so angry.
That top 32 team from Knoxville at 4:10 is wrong. Ferrothorn wasn't legal then
I really really wish he'd just ended the video with the crash out about Tailwind. Would have been HIILARIOUS
Literally me bro I was actually dying when he had his mental breakdown about the pikaclones.🤣 He actually seemed like he was suffering from cringe of how bad they are.😅
11:16 zeraora did not deserve luxray's mega evolution
Fr
0:04 Geez! He's getting more and more open with all these Umamusume references 😂🙌
I blame Calyrex.
I petition to give Rotom an appliance that's just an upgrade to its base form.
Maybe some kind of power bank? A generator, a car battery... somewhere to store/access a lot more power.
Make it a solar panel and give it increased special attack in the sun
2:47 surprised(and happy) no one noticed or commented about the speed stat
well now you did
Not funny buddy
Of course it has that speed stat. It's an anglerfish with a 67, so it lures in Gen Alpha kids and eats them.
I think the editors who worked on this video really like fallout
bro was so careful with his words- AS HE SHOULD BE, LUXRAY IS THE BEST.
Luxraye 3D model ever since gen 6 has made him look 10 times worse than he used to. For some reason they decided to make his ears bigger and move them a little more further closer to the front of his head. So now he looks more goofy than a bad ass pokemon like he used to.
Bro finally someone else points out the obvious
Don't forget they made his nose pushed in which also makes his face look flat
It's weird because Luxray's original sprite in its release generation doesn't show the ears facing forward that much, if at all, but just about every model of it after that keeps pushing and curving those ears further and further forward.
Don't really understand why.
@ForeverLaxxyeah And it's ugly
11:39 wait how is luxray slower than a f-ing mammoth 💀
I was not expecting the Emolga crashout lmaoooooooo
Wolfy really wants to be able to use every single Pokemon.
Can we just appreciate thumbnail artists thumbnails are just peak ❤
True
At this rate we need one for every type
1:11 the funny thing is he could've said Electabuzz instead of Electivire
7:39 He's our favorite because he's the best good boy
3:30 on what you could give Lanturn to make it stronger, I think having it get either or both of Sap Sipper or Levitate would be really funny. Basically playing an immunity shell game while shoring up one of its few weaknesses would be really neat, you could even take it a step further with an X and Y form if they really wanted to show it love. Levitate version gets a lot of speed and becomes a supercavitating shinkansen torpedo, sap sipper version becomes a big, mouthy tank.
I think that Levitate would be really cool for it but then it kinda becomes rotom wash but worse. And it was already worse without Levitate.
Luxray spotted but at what cost... 😭
Can't wait for your Tournament where you play only with Pokemon in your "Worst Type Ever" series
