In my arcade I go to, most people get stuck at S2. They get an F and then give up. Even playing the beginner levels accurately (or even with couple misses) isn't easy. The hard levels can take several months to get to. The very hard levels can take couple years to master.

Yes but you have to move your legs in a weird way. It's just easier to learn the spin. Didn't take me more than like 30 minutes of shadow playing to nail the spin and recognize the pattern. By moving your legs in weird way I mean, moving your right leg around your left leg from top left to bottom left. (While your left leg is already on the middle) This way might be more practical on some older charts that have weird partial spins but that's probably because I don't want to spend the time to memorize a part of a chart. I guess you can also hit the spin using heel toe because it's slow enough to do so but it's easier to get tripped up on the middle that way.
