Some quick statistics. If the 160-2 final year was a true sample and you really have 160/162 chance of winning each game - then you have (160/162)^162 = *13.36 % chance* of going 162 and 0. As that was the best season, the chance to win each game is probably lower than that.

With an average starting pitcher starting 32 games each year for all but the last two attempts there was pretty much no way. On the other hand, that lineup never gets shut out for a whole game IRL. Going a game without at least one home run is almost impossible for crying out loud.
