I think there's two good Foo periods, 1995-1999 then they're bad for a couple years and get better around 2006. One by One was terrible and only half of In Your Honor (the acoustic half) was good. In fact the band almost broke up during the period of 2000-2005. I think every album since Patience, Silence... (I'm not going to write out the whole long title) has been good.
@@lijax9606 they were post-grunge and grunge was very punk influenced but all their albums have had softer stuff or stuff that wasn't that serious. Hell one of their first hits, Big Me, is essentially a joke song mocking pop music.
@@msminmichigan well their current style definitely softened down, cause they are aging? or maturing? some styles of rock could be a very adolescent thing, like punk, grunge, post grunge, and metal (except Ozzy LOL)
@@msminmichigan the pretender, the whole color and the shape album and foo fighter debut album, all my life, breakout .... these are the kind of songs I'm looking for
I miss Leno before the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Before Lewinsky Leno was very good. The Lewinsky scandal was a major change in the show. A year or two after this the show was practically unwatchable because Clinton/Lewinsky were the focus of the show, Leno never stopped making jokes about it up until he retired. I switched back to Letterman and rarely watched Leno.
Cheap mono televisions in 1997 had reliably terrible audio. Cheap 10 packs of VHS tapes in 1997 had reliably terrible audio. The digital transfer and the original mix are probably the only things that make this recording listenable at all. What you're hearing is, in fact, period accurate.
Best foo era in my opinion, 1995-2002

Holy shit, I remember taping this when it aired. That's for uploading it.
3:26 Don’t wanna be your monkey bread.
This era of music was freaking awesome!
Sounded so good 😊😊😊
one of those songs with lyrics good enough it could have made the next nirvana album
like this heavy style, one of the heaviest song made by foo fighters
The Saint Cecilia EP has some solidly heavy songs.

Heavy in your dreams, this is school rock
Weird they have much more heavy songs
watershed
Their 1997 concert in Dallas was ROCKIN!
The Bronco Bowl! Such a fantastic venue. And now it's a Home Depot 😭
R.I.P. TAYLOR HAWKINS
Did Pat steal that outfit from Steve Albini?
Daaaaaaammmnnnnn
The Colour and the Shape is more of a metal album to me, though there’s a lot of it

Alpha ! Hey, at the end, this is the bird of the french ! the bird of the sun . Wow.
That bassist looks so out of place with that high up pose 😂😂
Bass players always look out of place
Seems weird seeing Dave on an SG.
I don't know if it was the Leno staff's fault or the VHS transfer but the audio is garbage.
msminmichigan Tonight Show had reliably terrible audio
Leave Garbage Alone!

Can't believe that's Jared Leto's dad
let's be honest here... he's a better frontman than the guy from nirvana.
Dave the thief.
