Bought this as a backup headlamp. So many backpackers do the same because of its reliability. As you said, in bad weather, it holds up and that is what you need. Great gift too as you can throw it in your car as an emergency light.
Great review... The more "advanced" models features a red lamp ( Tikka), and also 2 different lamps, one "spot" focused far ahead and one '"wide angled" flood light. Did you miss anything like this at tikkina ? I place great value to the words of an atlhete, because if he doesnt need it, why would a slow hiker do?
