    I’m 33yrs old, USMC combat vet, double above knee amputee. I can honestly say after watching your videos, and I bought the garage series and combined all that in my routine I can see the gains. I gain more in the past year then have in the past 18-20yrs. Also like the how you get to the point, and raw sense humor. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

    The Cliff Young story at the beginning ... I am Australian. He was a potato farmer from Tasmania, and that is 100% true. He turned up in Sydney at the start of the race, in gum boots (wellingtons, rubber boots) and just ran to Melbourne, because no one told him he couldn't!! Watched it all unfold live as a Kid. Will never forget it. What a life lesson.
    Oh, and Ryan's humour and workouts; Brutal!! and also Life lessons!!!

    So I finally got Ryan's Garage Workout program...it's not going like I planned. It all started on arm day of week 1. I was all excited to "get after it", I was practically skipping to the gym like a school girl. The first half of the workout was awesome, I lost count of the reps somewhere around 3,761. My arms decided they didn't want to play anymore. I'm attempting to do the last set of the day and I've found myself in the corner holding the tiny 5lb lime green neoprene weights designed for elder women, struggling to lift my arms over my head. As my vision starts to fade, I can feel my heartbeat behind my eyes, a sound comes out of my body that I have never heard before. Something between that high pitched screech you get when you stretch the mouth of a balloon and let the air out and the sound of squealing brakes. I'm not sure which part of my body that sound came from, but long story longer: I have to find a new gym.

    • @johnjacob1412
      @johnjacob1412 2 года назад +7

      If you want to try his real program, it's called steroids. His body is not achievable naturally. He just wants you to keep buying his program, never see results like he has, so you keep buying more. He has showed a few good lifting techniques that I use now, you just have to get through his "humor".

    • @PThorpe11
      @PThorpe11 2 года назад +15

Do I expect to look like Ryan at some point? Nope, but I definitely look bigger and feel better. Fuck outta here with that negative shit

    When I started training I always did the same lift routine two days in a row. First day was just to make the muscles just little sore for day two. That way I could really focus on the contraction. Day two was a little heavier, slower making sure I got that muscle mind connection. That worked well for upper body. Not so much for legs. But I figured out what I could do for my legs eventually, Now I just wear pants to the beach. Problem solved. ;)

      @@amarpalsohal9575 Everyone is different. It all depends on your goals. You have to take into account the risk to reward ratio too. I’m not a big guy and I’m also diabetic. For me, volume over heavy weight always gives me the best results. It also stabilizes my blood sugars. So I like doing multiple lighter weight super sets. Biceps for example. Straight barbell curl 21’s then into a set of drag curls. rest for a 1 min then repeat 3x. Then triceps, tricep push ups once again 21’s (7 bottom range keeping the tension on the tricep. 7 top range holding that contraction at the top then 7 super slow full range) then skullcrushers 21’s (same breakdown as the push ups 7,7,7). Then dips 21’s (same breakdown 7,7,7) 1 min rest then repeat 3x. I’ll do that afew times in one workout. As I go on I’ll have to adjust the weight or go on my knees for push-ups. And increase the rest times. By the time I’m done the workout I’m ready to die.

      Concentration curls and kick backs?? Good way to get weak and small. Long head, short head? How your biceps look is determined by genetics period, same with triceps. Everyone works arms to exhaustion. It’s the easiest and most fun to do. No one needs any motivation for arms, we love them. Kickbacks and concentration curls ?? Hahahahaha.

    Stumbled on your page and not sure how I haven’t seen it before. Watched about 10 of your videos and immediately purchased your full gym program out of pure support for the page and content you’re pumping out. Started it Monday and just finished day 3, back day. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. My two herniated disks are the least of my concerns due to the fact my triceps are still burning from Monday - haven’t had a soreness like that since I was 130 lbs french pressing a 15lb. dumbbell with my noodle arms 11 years ago. Been active and lifting since I was a junior in high school (currently 29) and have always been in decent shape and do some type of weights 6 days a week. I hit a major plateau the last year or so. Let me tell you, anyone that’s looking to create a connection with any body parts regardless if you think you have a solid connection or not NEEDS to scrape $20 together and get on this program. I guarantee you don’t have the connect you think you do. Don’t believe me, just do 2 sets of 100 reps (yeah, 200 total) bus drivers and tell me you’ve ever felt a burn like that - that’s the damn warm up for day 2 shoulders…. This is hands down the perfect amount of psychoticness that I needed in my life right now. Looking forward to the next few weeks and seeing what other programs you put out. Upped my protein and eating normal this time through then will likely run it again and IF to play around and see if I can reduce my BF% a bit. I’ll be first in line for the next program you put out 🤙🏼💪🏼

    He actually gives good advise for regular guys. 5 - 12 reps may work for the genetic outliers, but I don't grow with low reps--definitely get stronger but that's not really what I care about.

    • @tomashorst9544
      @tomashorst9544 3 года назад

      Genetic outliers, you mean literally everyone. If that rep range doesn't work for you you're training wrong

    • @ac2395
      @ac2395 3 года назад

      @@tomashorst9544 Let’s be specific. Will people get “some results” from doing it. Of course, the body will go from 0 to 5 easily just by doing it consistently. But I’m guessing this guy is well past that and wants to go to the next level. That’s where something special is needed or simply more reps.

    • @tomashorst9544
      @tomashorst9544 3 года назад

      @@ac2395 I think this guy is hardly even a beginner, same for you. 5-12 is pretty much perfect for muscle building, although 2-15 would probably be the complete range I use. If you can't gain muscle from that you're fucking around in the gym. Coming from someone who's been lifting for 5 years and done everything you can imagine. Doing a different rep range won't fix that problem, maybe for now, but in a year from now when you're not a beginner anymore it'll stop working, especially if there's no way to gauge progress. As an intermediate or advanced you dont have to do anything differently per se. But a lot of things that used to work just stop working. So you have to start thinking about things logically and ask yourself if what you're doing makes sense.
      Let me ask you this, what is the benefit of the first 10-15 reps in a 20+ rep set? Because you probably know that the first half of the set will not be intense at all. Do you really think that first part is doing anything AT ALL to your muscles? (I'll give you a secret, the answer is no)
      The thing is Ryan is on drugs and a lot of things that don't work for naturals work for them. It seems with him that he's completely forgotten about how to train naturally or worse, never really saw results so he just jumped on steroids which would explain his awful advice.

      @@chaseburt4992 are you enhanced like Ryan or are you natty?
      If you bro-split, which for nattys is the most effective way to build strength/muscle, chest and tri's gets its own day. Biceps and forearms get their own day. Back gets its own day. Shoulders gets its own day, throw some core in if you'd like. Legs get their own day. Obviously try to not do shoulders back to back w chest, etc.
      Also, it depends on your goals. Curls for the girls, bis and forearms get worked twice a wk. Sometimes I do back twice a week trying to raise my deadlift etc
