Rain World - The noodlefly mother

- I wish there was an achievement for hatching noodleflies. If I were to ever make it an achievement, it would require hatching five noodlefly eggs and not killing the noodleflies when they hatch. The eggs could be collected all at once or many cycles apart. Progress is only lost when you kill a noodlefly.
I hatched a total of ten noodleflies and collected five eggs. It took some planning and preparing in the cycles before.
At the end, hunter dies to protect their baby noodleflies. The noots were adopted by a nearby adult noodlefly.
imagine if all of them became mothers and acted like befriended lizards, how op and fun that would be.
And better yet, you could command your friendly Nootmoms, and tell them to attack stuff or carry your items or something
@@JetFalcon710 So you'd essentially have a noodlefly army.
@@buddythemoth Yes
All fun and games until you accidentally grab a nootling
@@aitusai Doesn't even need that, if they see a dead nootling and you'rethe only one here they assume you are the murderer.
Adult Noodlefly with literally 1 child: *Sees turtle with own noodlefly babies*
*Visible jealousy*
who wouldnt be

This is such a great moment which showcases RWs ai. Noot noticed the player but didn't see the exact pipe slugcat went through. So it picked random one, and did a wrong guess.
After getting out pipe, it then checked the other pipe, since that was the only other place where player could've went.
Strange, when Noodleflies are angry with me, they sure as heck seem not realistic at all. They just know where I am at all times and that's it - no matter where I go, they find me.
bc they usually see you, he wasnt seen there@@Pe6De
@@Pe6De the noodle fly wasn't angry at that moment. It was annoyed because of the grabbed egg.
@@aylanj123 So it was angry. When you hold onto the egg, they are just as ready to kill you - except they instantly lose aggro when you let go of it.
@@Pe6De Nope. They have an agroo metter. If it hits the maxium value they are perma angry against you and will come back the next cycles to kill you (If you manage to escape).
Holding an egg adds agroo overtime and removes it completely once they see you drop it. You can hold the egg for 6 seconds I think. They need to see you, else it freezes.
I remember the first time I played this and I thought the lil babies looked like easy to catch snacks.
And that's how I was murdered.
XD OH NOO
I did the same but I got chased into a shelter, hibernated and the mother appeared in the shelter with me in the next cycle
i did that and got killed and then my corpse fell off a cliff
I never bothered noodleflys for some reason, every time I saw one I would just go :O :) only now learning the big ones are aggressive when it’s babies are threatened
One of its babies died in grass it killed me
Noodleflies are very much what I imagine worm off the string would be like
Turtle toad: Cycle 16, Sky Islands, Killing everything that moves in sight
Meanwhile, me: Cycle 1235, Outskirts, "How do i get out of this location?"
The best part is he's playing as hunter, which means it starts at cycle 19 (I think) and counts down from there. So this is only his THIRD CYCLE. I don't know how he's able to do this kind of stuff.
@ARTEMIS HAYDEN You can get halfway through Sky Islands on your first hunter cycle, if you don't run into any significant combat
going to sky island when u are hunter is very easy but have you tried going to the outskirts from hunter start location?
im just trying to go to five pebbles or moon idk where that is tho
@Kaitlyn Tolle If you want some advice then I'd say stop fighting the lizards and run for you life anywhere you encounter anything.
As you explore other areas you find out different tricks with which you can move and out maneuver enemies. The world is quite unforgiving but don't give up on slugcat!
Turtle I think you have a problem with your noodlefly fixation.
I always called them spaghettisquitoes
I call them flying shrimp
Wise man
I called them Pernilongo (mosquito in English) but now I just call them ponis
Sausageflies
That's a lot of child support
Underrated comment
What you think is the main plot of the video: man collects children and dies for them in a heartbreaking moment
What I, an intellectual, think is the main plot of this video: a blue lizard repeatedly rejecting the romantic advances of a centipede, and the centipede will NOT let go.
which sec of the video?
@@Spacebugg 9:48
Wait but i thought the centipede was dea-
ACK XD Aww, oh no!
Bruh that lizard deadass spent an entire cycle ignoring hunter to try (and fail) to bring that centipede to its den.
I finished the game except every time I walked by one of those eggs I would get anxiety because I didnt know what they were until I watched this video
I kept thinking they were clams that lived in high altitudes, so I tried to eat them...
Needless to say I had to restart that cycle because of a Noodlefly with particularly good aim
I picked one up didnt know what it was tried eating it didnt work tried cracking it didnt work tried opening it in any way didnt work so I threw it off a death pit infront of a family of noodle flies
I thought I'd have to bring one somewhere, so I grabbed it. Luckily, I asked a friend what they were and promptly dropped it.
Loving that one blue lizard dragging the entire centipede in its mouth. Looks so proud of itself.
Fly, my noodles.
Go! Ram ento our enemies!
ohhhhh those are eggs!
I've never touched Noodlefly's children, and always felt safe around those. Because one time, I noticed that lizard ate noodlefly child and got brutally murdered.
Absolutely love them.
i had no idea that interaction existed, thats so cool
This is actually pretty impressive it's like a neuron run, but with noodlefly eggs. (Also you're doing it in SI so...)
I actually had no idea that those are Noodlefly eggs, lol
(And i played the game too long enough to ascend as The Hunter)
Thanks to Rain World Downpour's newest achievements, it looks like you got your wish.
I've been thinking about the achievements for some tome now, been wondering if we could use them as means to buff/progress the slugcat in few ways to make them feel as if they grow and adapt to life in thes regions.
Examples would be:
-The Survivor: 10% increase chance of finding a Karma Flower.
-The Monk: increased fruits/veggies spawn rates and reduces popcorn plants respawn rate by 1 cycle.
-The hunter: increase overall damage dealt by 0.5.
-The Saint: overall hostility towards slugcat reduced by 10%, spears spawn twice as much.
-The Chieftain: Scavengers are more friendly towards slugcat by 50%.
-The Outlaw: Scavengers are 15% more hostile towards slugcat, more scavengers in designated areas.
-The Friend: Lizards are 10% more tolerant towards slugcat and are easier to befriend.
-The Dragonslayer: Lizards are 10% more fearful of slugcat.
-The Lorekeeper: White pearls are more common.
-The Traveller: Slightly increased mobility speed and jump height, Slugcat is more resistant to falls.
These are what I've been thinking on since it would be nice to have a bit more leeway with what we can do, specially since we have to go out of our way to get these achievements in the 1st place.
Achievements giving buffs would be cool, but I think it might make the game too easy. I think having the achievements give buffs in a more subtle way (like with the cheiftain making scavengers never attack you on purpose) would be best for them.
Turtle Toad
While it is true that it would make the game easier, I was thinking more on how to reward the player for their accomplishments before thrusting them into a harder landscape, much like how the Survivor can eventually spawn out Reds, Kings and Cyan Lizards, having a bit more speed(not as fast as the hunter) and having that 0.5 damage buff would come in beneficial, since even with all them buffs, 1 simple mistake and it's all over.
Plus having that 0.5 allows to 1 spear confirm Scavengers, Dumbwigs and Blues, among other things. It's a bit easier yes, but rewarding to those who put the time into it.
That is a really cool idea! Somebody should really make this a mod.
Although nobody would want the outlaw achievement, it'll make everything harder!
Instead of making scavs aggressive, it could make them be more fearful of the slugcat. Then, it still gets harder because the scav might stab out of caution, but it could be effective to get a scav toll to stand down. That's what I thought when I read this.
Damn ur a professional slugcat. 80% of those encounters: I'd have been ded.
That ending though haha
M-mother :'(
would be amazing if tey grew every cycle and protect you as adults.
Awww this is so cute.
...
Then sudden: NOOT NOOT! IS DINNER TIME BABIES! *I am a horroblie person*
I can imagine doing this (same amount of eggs) a few times and just having a swarm of noots attacking when I am damaged.
Best slugcat.
do baby noodleflies ever actually grow up? and if they do, do they protect slugcat, if slugcat hybronated with them when they hatched???
Turtle Toad, If anyone can answer my question, it's you
No
Ok so once I took a noodlefly to my hideout in my survivor save file
And the noodlefly mother wouldn't stop chasing me unless I killed it
It took a lot of resets
But I did it
(It took like 17 resets but that's only because my aim sucks o~o
You just have to wait for it to impale on the ground an you get free shots
@@rompevuevitos222 You could also get it into a crawlspace, as it cannot dodge in crawlspaces
@@JetFalcon710 Yeah but you put yourself into a do or die situation, in the open at least you get to retry if you miss the shot
@@rompevuevitos222 Oh, good point
I didn't know you could do this. I now feel bad for eating them as soon as I woke up
I thought those weird things were useless trash you could carri around for no reason at all. Huh
I don't think there's anything in Rain World that's completely useless. Even things like Mushrooms and Rocks are useful in some way
Where'd you get that awesome thumbnail?
I made it myself :>
Turtle Toad
Oh that's awesome! Can you post that online somewhere, wanna see if I can get that to a modder friend and get this achievement going!
Here imgur.com/a/1tYvdwP
It is a flat image, but I could do the individual layers and depth map for it so it's like the other cutscenes.
Turtle Toad
Ooh that would be great, looks perfect! Will send this along, he says he'll get to work immediately.
@@jackstoutamore8541 how's it going?
if only when you hatched noots, you could tame them, and then when they laid eggs, they would also be tamed
minecraft
the snack that smiles back
Slugcat of the Noodleflies.
I do not know how, but i was just going from outskirts to industrial, and found a lone nootbaby. Ate it, and it's mother chased me, but i just ran to the gate. The gate closes behind me, with the nootmom trapped. I get out of the pipe, AND THE NOOTMOM GOES TROUGH IT AFTER ME. This girl was so hungry for Revenge She phashed trough a gate to kill me 😭
This may be five years old, but glad to see a fellow scav murderer either way
this is so sad
9:52 is that bug?
Its just keep rolling into that overgrown centipede
Yeah, there is a bug where a Blue or White (maybe Cyan as well) Lizard can just keep spinning after catching prey
Mother of the Year 2018
Also what's our collab idea my dude. We kidnapping scavs or what?😈
you could call the achievement Surrogate or something :3
I personally call them tapeworm mosquitos
The true danger noodle
The pain pasta
wait what he predicted an actual passage
I never knew what those were for until now
Man i ate SO MANY noodlefly babies and murdered like 6 noodlefies by luring them in a crawl space and spearing them in their face in farm arrays. Food was so easy to get and the shelter was right there (in the spore puff room) my karma shot up from first to the tenth level easily. I even killed some of the young noodleflies and threw them away because i was full (i was playing monk so it was easy for me)
i wonder how indebt it goes from there.... can they grow up and be your permanent stinging army? or are they gone in the moment you sleep since their AI doesnt manage to get them all into a den?
nope, they stay as babies forever and eventually drift away if they're not eaten first
ey kiki do you love me? Are you riding?
Basically artificer but noodleflies
Funky fresh mosquito
first time i saw noodlefly babies on the mother's tail i thought that the babies were prey to the mother and that she had stabbed them with her tail. now i just see them all as food cus noodlelies are easy to fight
Now do the same, but as an artificer
well, this dude is the enemy of the state apparently.
We need hypnos lullaby for this
Why do they make little tooting noises 😭
Cool art
4:55 oof
Wait, I missed something, how did you do this..? :T
steal noodlefly eggs, don't get killed by angry parents, bring them to your shelter, profit
one time a baby noodfly died to worm grass then the mother tried to attack me then misssed and I killed it then got 2 free snacks from the 2 babies that didn't die :>
Big Needle Worm
The kidnapper*
How do you do that slide leap thing?
There's info about that in the wiki
↓+→(or←)+jump. Then →+jump
I can't hold more than 2 keys down on my keyboard... it just doesn't work if I try. And it constantly makes a beeping sound till I let go of a key.
@@lonejohnwolf u need a better keyboard tgen
How would that fix anything? My keyboard works great all the time, and literally no other game I've played has a situation where you need to HOLD down 3 buttons at the same time. Also this keyboard has an extremely helpful unique button that opens my default browser if I press it, I literally use it every day.
epic
a dlc or sequel would be nice
Well let me tell you…
Boy do I have some news for you
2:56 Wtf is that blue-black bug. I never saw one.
That's a squidcada, they can be different colors
What do these balls do?
lol
Why did time slow down at the 4th minute?
I think he ate a mushroom
Why this vid in slow mo on normal speed for playback
It's in normal speed...
Turtle Toad a few minute of the vid for me is slow mow for some reason also why did you abandon your noodle bois and gurls they where so cute ANSWER MEEEE
That might be because I ate a mushroom at around 4 mins in and those slow time.
Turtle Toad oh wait that can actually happen in game also you didn’t answer my question about the noodle baby’s why you abandon them
He didn’t abandon them? They follow him everywhere
