The world took everything away from Joel so Joel took everything away from the world
mikehtv An interesting way of putting it :) He definitely wasn't afraid to take back from the world what it took from him. Makes sense in explaining his less than moral choices during those 20 years.
reddit?
I wouldn't say joel took everything away from the world, If you explored the hospital, You would find some interesting audio logs about how the vaccine wouldn't work. And how alot of people have tried, But died in vain. The vaccine that they were supposed to make thanks to ellie would most likely end in fail.
Yeah, I haven't played all of the resident evil games. Hate me all you want
Tarp wull DON'T worry bro i havn't played any resident evil
The best cutscene in this entire game is when Ellie steals porn from Bill and is looking at it in the truck.
"Why are all these pages stuck together?"
*"Why are they stuck together"
My favourite fucking part
"How does he walk around with that thing"
TX9MDY what "thing"
I didn't even get it until now. Hahahaha
Joels final actions are disturbing on a deep level.
Because from the point of view of the player it is the worst thing he could possibly do, it is entirely selfish and potentially dooms humanity.
And yet it is exactly what we want him to do.
+Oliver “Royal Players” Queen Dem feels ;-;
+Shield Maker “Royal Players” actually there was no guante of a medicine. One of the tapes at the hospital say it from an actual doctor
+Shield “Royal Players” Maker he didn't lie. if you find the recorders in the hospital you'll see he's actually being honest.
+Cooper Magner exactly, he didn't lie, there was a chance it would work sure, but all other attempts fail, and in my opinion, the chances weren't enough for Joel to let Ellie sacrifice herself just to become a statistic. I actually support Joel's decision.
+Shield “Royal Players” Maker The world took something from him, so he took something from the world.
The only problem with this video is skipping over Henry and Sam. The reason why Joel wants to hand over Ellie to Tommy is because he's afraid he'll end up like Henry if something were to happen to Ellie.
I think that's a pretty important part of the story.
Jonathan Dirks I never caught onto that link. Niiice
I don't get why it's called the story you never knew? It's literally just re telling the game..
yes I think too
Yeah I know wtf, more like "The story I knew because I played the game"
This video completely deflated my hype to replay the game. It's been a long time since I played it, so I forgot the details of the plot. Now I feel like I have no reason to play it and on top of that, I've learned nothing new.
Invisible_Mango same
Yup
*SPOILERS*
SO, In the game there is actually a recording on a tape while you are trying to save Ellie. Its hidden well, plus you are focused on surviving and killing all the fireflies in that moment. BUT, it says that they actually WERE other people like Ellie within the 20 years that passed from Sara's death and that they tried and failed. So A lot of you people say that he lied and he sacrificed the world for ellie, But there actually was a small chance that they could've screwed up like they did with the other people and the other immunes. Joel did lie about the FireFlies stopping to look for a cure, but he did not lie about there being more immune people like her.
Cool, I didn't know that.
The most powerful opening of a videogame... ever.
Nah
+PK Pro Gaming what opening is more impactful?
Possibly the best ending too.
+Kylek its terrible on the surface, but watch a video about it, it's actually really deep and emotional
+Kylek
The ending is only shit if you don't like open-to-interpretation endings or ambiguity.
The story anyone who played the game knew.
or just anyone who has any basic knowledge of the game
+Radioactive_DUCK everything he said in the video was basic knowledge
+Majestic furry ik. wtf Is up with the title
Ikr triggered
John Smith kinda true
while this is a great analysis for the most part, i think its still missing the most important point of the actual ending.
what really set the ending of the last of us apart from almost any other story is that there simply is no correct choice to make in joels place. while for the most part of the game the message seems to be rather clear and simple in terms of what the ultimate goal of the journey is, essentially treating ellie as some sort of glass vial that pretty much contains the cure for the cordyceps which you only still need to extract and deliver to humanity, to make this whole nightmare end, the situation that presents itself when inside the hospital is quite different.
none of the people important to the journey (joel, ellie, tess, marlene, tommy, etc) are any close to being scientists so you cant fault them for this simplistic view of course, but once you find the additional information in audio tapes and other things at the abandoned university and finally the hospital, it becomes blatantly evident, that the doctors basically have no clue what theyre doing. heck, it feels like most of them are makeshift doctors at best, debatable if they even were doctors or scientists before the outbreak, but there simply isnt anyone else left at this point. so whats presented to you is submitting ellie to a procedure that is certain to kill her, for the sake of a very slim chance, that it may actually yield some kind of vaccine.
and the dilemma doesnt even stop there, as even IF they were to create a working vaccine, you would still have to wonder at how to actually deliver it accross the world, for example. and even more importantly, what a working vaccine would ultimately accomplish. it becomes clear throughout the journey that a vaccine would not magically make everything go back to normal again, most of humanity is gone for good, either dead or infected, and whats left is mostly fending for themselves, committing horros in the name of survival much worse than whatever the infected present. joel, if anybody, would know about that. i think bill is putting it very well at some point, saying something like "its not the infected i worry about, its the people". and thats bang on the truth. 20 years after the outbreak, the biggest threat to whats left of humanity is no longer the infection, but rather the other humans.
now you can theorize at how a working vaccine would potentially change the dynamics between the different groups of people, maybe stabilizing things enough for the looters to stop acting inhumane, or the military to stop being abusive, or maybe not. but certainly everyone wouldnt just get together, hug it out, and start building a society again, just like that. i mean its one possible scenario, but it sure is far fetched. may well be the least likely out of the imaginable scenarios.
and so theres joel. thats what hes looking at. then how can it be broken down to joel simply making a selfish decision that dooms mankind as it is standing on the brink of salvation, simply because of his own inability to deal with the death of his daughter? thats not what it is. and its not all theres to it. im not saying that this doesnt play a role for joel and that theres no selfishness in his decision. but its also weighing a minimal chance for something that may or may not, hypothetically, make the world a better place again, against accepting the state that the world is in and going for the very real chance of living the best possible life in this world. cause thats what tommy and his people stand for, essentially. maybe this is the right course for mankind at this point. its certainly up for debate.
the bigger moral dilemma for joel, as i see it, is that he takes this choice out of ellies hands, and basically against her will. she makes it very clear during the last chapter that she wants to see this through, no matter what. at this point it feels very much like what happened during winter actually made her lose her will to live, so shes actually embracing the fact that the ultimate destination of their journey is her death. this is what truly made the first part of summer the most gut-wrenching for me in my first playthrough, tbh. joel is obviously banking on the hope that - with time - she may come around again. but for now, its a grave danger for their future relationship. and there is no question that ellie sees right through him at the end when hes lying to her about what really happened at the hospital. i mean, even if youd never met joel before youd know the story hes tellling is total hogwash, lol. so the pivotal thing about the ending for me is what to read into ellis "ok". and theres ALOT of possible ways to interpret that :D. so i think the endings brilliant. it could go literally everywhere from there for the 2 of them.
Dude i loved your comment lol the deepness of your character analysis was amazing.
I love talking about and debating these types of things with people like you lol.
chdeaaanime
why thank you :)
No thank you shit was awesome to read lol.
Nice analysis. Good job bro
How is this "the story you never knew"? It's the main story of the game, isn't it?
BTW why didn't you even mentioned Sam and Henry??
And the giraffes!!! How could you not mention the freaking giraffes?!
He started saying the things we never knew from the middle to the end.
aizenps3 I've seen the whole video... it's just the game's main story.
Remy Blas
but the video is about the story of joel and his character that we never care about because we are too busy playing the games
Medhaav Mahesh You can't play this game without caring about Joel and Ellie. They ARE the game.
The Last of Us 2:
Ellie becomes 17 and Joel dies of the same fungus that killed everyone else.
Poor Ellie is left to survive alone until she strives with Tommy for a few days.
After a major bombing in Tommy's homeland, Tommy has been killed & Ellie goes back with the Fireflies. Another few years later Ellie finds a starving child named Jordan.
Ellie & the kid continue with their lives until everything falls apart.
Jordan has found out that he has the same immunity as Ellie does.
At some point, Ellie leaves lonely Jordan to the Fireflies, and uses herself as the cure.
No more than six years, Jordan becomes 15 & has the cure. He has a mission to cure everyone who has been bitten, including himself.
Somewhere near a river, Ellie is found being stabbed by an unusual person, but then lives again.
Jordan found out the Fireflies cured her before she died, having a secret cure before. But, the first cure was failing multiple times, but for Ellie it worked.
It all comes to an end, leaving humanity to rebuild itself.
ethan hunt This isn't real, dumbass.
I made TLOU2 up
Did you mean Walking Dead Season 2?
my my idea for a sequel involved the spores in ellies blood steam mutating into a far more aggressive strain that kills Joel when they're having a bonding moment, and passing a bottle around the camp fire. years later ellie is running caravan routes between settlements afraid to get close to anyone since she's a walking bio hazard with backwash that can kill in minutes.
☣Merry And thats the reason why you dont work for naughty dog, and i am glad.
FailedEpic465 Don't like my ideas? Cool, I didn't type this to impress you.
I remember the first time I played this and Sarah died... I actually lost my shit and shouted at the tv screen... *the fuck you do that for.. nooo fuck you man No that's not fucking cool* I remember as if it was yesterday
good times
I was so fucking mad when they killed off Sarah. I wanted to see how they got along. Would they be friends? Enemies?
+The Doctor She was in the game for like 5 seconds.
louis Williams
Just goes to show how great they made that character that most people cared about her
+ArianaP_ Gymnast123404 I know how you feel..."Sarah seems like a nice kid, i wonder she's not with Ellie in trailers.... NOOO! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN ?!"
*****
did you even watch the video?
Also.. how long has it been??
If that is a spoiler were you lost in a jungle these last few years?
you sir should win an oscar
Majestic burrito lets plays Wow thanks! What an awesome comment!
I personally think his voice is Painfully irritating to this video. His voice sounds too playful and sarcastic. Makes it sound like a joke or parody video as opposed to the stories seriousness
bro your life is a parody
Majestic burrito lets plays lol simple opinion. No need to get butthurt fanboy lol
Majestic burrito lets plays lol woooow name ridicules, geez, you got me. Meanwhile you can start talking shit when I can take you seriously, because that whole "majestic burrito" shit is too comical for ANYONE to take seriously lol. And it's just an opinion. If your too immature and ignorant to not get so offended by it then you should leave now because I have shit loads of opinions 😂😂😂😂
w8,w8,w8. You just said this was Texas right? Then why are there only one person shooting the zombies?!?! They all have guns!
Also cool it's near Boston, where i live. GRRREAT
i'm in tyler texas right now
I'm in California we're fucked
NinjaGamer2003 I am in new york and we are also doomed.
Kenny Zhou Boston is not in Texas they are no longer in texas
As someone with two little sisters, I was ready to punch my tv when Sarah died at the beginning...
Goddammet!! Why does Joel have to be such a great character?!?!?!?!
Ikr?
Manly, strong, sweet, and the romantic type, his my ideal type even though his in his late 40's and I'm 21
Here rewatching this video after playing the last of us part 2
How can people thumb this down? This is both entertaining and analytical, makes you think and find newfound appreciation for both the concept of the game and the characters. You, my man, deserve a cookie.
Because he just narrates the cutscenes.. ???
thisninjajango While still giving insight into the relationship between the characters and the story behind the game? I liked it, and if people thumb it down "just" because he speaks about it during cutscenes, then they have completely missed the point of this video.
CallMeEuphoria What insight? This is a straight up narration
Farzad Afshari Edgiest guy around, You should be a television show...
CallMeEuphoria He added a very minimal amount of insight. He just retold the story and pointed out the obvious themes that accompany every post-apocalyptic survival game. The title, "The Story You Never Knew" implies that there was some sort of hidden narrative or profound message that hasn't been revealed until his video. Instead, he made a less than exceptional copy of The Game Theorists. I am not a troll, I just ask that his videos live up to their titles.
No one:
Abby: 0:10
10:37 You predicted the future 😳
That’s actually crazy
Only disliking this bc the video title is misleading.
Last of Us 2 should be a prequel that tells the events after the death of Joel's daughter. The story should include how he and Tommy had to survive the initial apocalypse, their involvement with the Fireflies, and how Joel became a smuggler and met Tess.
theres already last of us 2 in the making. They are renaming it though.
HELL NO. They need to follow up on the ending on the original and make a satisfying conclusion with a sequel. They can do all that prequel stuff afterwards.
+CK TV nah, it's a good ending. just too dumb to appreciate it
Yeah, it’s gonna have 2 stories in one. The other will be Ellie trying to stop the infection from spreading, and by doing that killing all zombies
no lol
john marston please
logan cude love red dead
The image of a bear with Joel's face shall never escape my mind. XD
The Almighty Commentator ikr looks hilarious u can't take him seriously as a bear
Here's what I never knew: Joel has a last name?!
Great vid!
So does Ellie it's Williams :D
When it was released in Japan the game manual had their surnames on I believe.
GamerGalUK When you are in Sarah's bedroom with the right camera angle you can see her degree and it says : Sarah Miller
I never knew that! I thought I scanned every part of her room too. The game still delightfully surprises me :D
11:25 Can't control the feels, when that song starts playing ;(
hej hej just let it out man, its ok, we're here for you
Wow, wait what? You only have 30k subs?? YOU SHOULD HAVE MORE WHAT THE HELL! Your videos are EXCELLENT!
Gehab hey thanks! We're hoping to get more soon!
Treesicle No worries I hope you do!
Treesicle You just got yourself +1 to your subscriber stat
eaglerouge same

0:08 he predicted Joel's death xd
The golf club in the begging was prophetic!
💀
"The story you never knew" you just told the whole story from Joel's point of view.
Rip Joel Miller..
the game still makes me tear up after all these years. singlehandedly one of the best game intros ever made and the story is magnificent.
I STILL want a sequel
Hayden Yong I'd be surprised if we don't see one at some point. There's so much potential it's not even funny.
Treesicle fuck this I want a prequel , let them fill those 20 years I want to see more of Tommy Joel and Tess
***** there is no proof
Source or fake.

"Joel Miller (The Last of Us): The Story You Never Knew" You literally just told me the story.
Thanks for wasting my time.
frontline
I already explained this to three other comments, so I'll keep it short, Joel and Ellie changes roles throughout the game and also people don't realize that Joel is just a human like all of us who doesn't always make the right decision. Pay attention next time, dickwad.
SkillerFiftyOne
Yeah.. so I'm correct.
Read, dummy.
This video is garbage.
frontline
are you actually dumb? I explained what wasn't explained in the game, which was already explained in the video.
SkillerFiftyOne
"No, he told us the story and his opinion on how Joel and Ellie felt."
That's one of my previous comments... learn to fucking read man.
SkillerFiftyOne
Did you even watch the damn video? He brought nothing new to the table at all.
Oh Joel felt this way, Ellie felt that way.
Anyone who isn't mentally fucking handicapped knew that already; just by playing the fucking game.
My pic is from a dragon ball z parody on youtube.
I don't even watch anime.
You better Get 1 Million Next year because your videos deserve that much
Shenron -Sama We hope so! that would be awesome!
Treesicle lol i wish i had that much XD

It's the characters names.
Or at least what the subtitles thinks they should be.
AurenTheGuy Oh, XD
+AurenTheGuy Joel's new name should be "*Troll*"
Those subtitles are trolling us.
I just noticed if you actually say all of this out loud fast it does sound like the names ...
This came out five years ago and you made Joel say the clock joke like he did in tlou2 in the beginning. Time traveler?
"Claiming he's injured and needs help, but Joel calls bullshit, ducking it and gunning it."
Its material like this that's going to have me coming back for more. Keep it up!
How is this "the story you never knew"? He literally just yapped about each segment in the game, which is the the whole story and therefor not classified as something we did not know....wtf dude, come on.
watcheem Most people play it without paying attention or looking for any secrets that tell you more, so in all reality, for those who did not explore each area, it is what they did not know.
I kinda wish you would’ve expanded on Joel’s relationship with Tess. I think that before Ellie she was the only one he really trusted and the only person he’d really open up to. I think she is what kept him from closing himself off from other people completely. I think if it wasn’t for her, Joel would’ve isolated himself like Bill did (either literally or figuratively).
Nice to see another video up, this was a truly gripping story.
PastorGains You can expect a new SYNK every two weeks! we're working on getting our new series A Divergent Design up on alternating weeks too!
I now see why this game received so much praise it makes you question everything you've ever done and makes you realise that when those closest to you actually die you wont be able to live with your self i never played this but after watching this i really need to
I literally just beat this game like 20-min ago.
Ashton Marshall nice!
Treesicle 2 days in a row I've lost sleep thinking about this game
I am studying to be a game designer, and watching these videos motivates me so much more. I want to make an awesome, deep, soul wrenching story and really push it out there until it becomes recognizable just so I can hear that kick ass voice read back to me the story of my characters that I never knew.
Now, Did you become Game Designer?
Question here: why would the soldier have orders to kill any civilian he sees? I understand it might be to prevent infection but it seems like a really weird decision for a government to make: kill everyone. You'd expect they'd give it their all to try and get people to safety instead of worsening the situation.
The government's first response to that kind of plague would be contain first, evacuate later. That is not a conspiracy theory, it is a fact.
Frank G interesting, not surprising tho. But, how does killing civilians help? It's like you help the virus no matter what you do.
Rabin Miguel It's basically just to ensure the infected area is contained. Imagine an outbreak in your town. The military would stop all civilians attempting to escape, because if they're infected the world could go to even deeper shit
Geralt of fucking Rivia fucked up for sure. It's very dualistic because on one hand it's efficient, but on the other hand every person wants to live as much as the other. Guaranteed "important" or famous people will be the exception and evacuated no matter the situation.
This...this right here made me feel even closer to the characters of this game. The Last Of Us, to me is one of the best well thought out stories of all time. I love this game, with all my heart. You explaining what I had guessed so long ago, drew me that much closer to Ellie and Joel. Thankyou.
DON'T WATCH THIS.
This tells the whole story of the game and ruins the game completely if you haven't played it. I tells you the story you do know; the opposite of what the title says completely. Avoid watching this.
That see-saw diagram was freakin' sweet
Nice. Now if we could get a Prince of Persia video now...
YES
nice profile pic
the most powerful video game story I've ever witnessed, an awesome masterpiece of a game. 10/10 played it to death on ps3, just ordered it on ps4 as I couldn't resist
Do you actually talk like this in real life? God, its annoying listening to this.
haha
so true
Ikr
you have no respect
Yeah, it's that fucking radio moderator voice...extremely unnatural.
This again brings back all the emotion you get from the begging to the end. Very sobering.
Someone who finally addresses most of Joel's decisions as immoral. That means a lot for me. ^^
Bidmartinlo During the game, his decisions aren’t immoral at all. He’s acting in self defense.
To everyone who's saying "this is just retelling the game", the point of the video is to explain why Joel does what he does throughout the game, and especially at the ending. So if you caught yourself saying anything negative about Joel after playing the game, watch this to the end, it's a great breakdown.
I think a portal 2 Story You never knew would be great
I played this game in 2017 and it's still personally my favourite game
story i never knew if i never played the game .....
Recommendation: John Marston - Red Dead Redemption ---- Big Daddy - Bioshock 1-2 ---- Lee Everett/Clementine - The Walking Dead Video Game ---- Commander Shephard - Mass Effect Series ---- Max Payne - Max Payne Series ---- Isaac Clark - Dead Space Series Yeah just a few suggestions for this series, though I don't doubt you might have atleast 1 or 2 from this list already picked out. Keep up da werk gais
All good recomidaions
Sorry for my spelling
perfect !! Everyone who has played The Last of us should watch this. Good job i enjoyed it :3
Ryko0 Awesome compliment! Thanks a ton and we're so happy you enjoyed it =D
i agree this is amazing to everyone who played the game at first i never knew this but you showed me the true meaning of this game
Everyone who played the game already knows the story you never knew.
Everyone who played the game has different perspectives for the story and the characters. SonOfSeth
cant believe that you took my suggestion, you're amazing! :D
ENYONE HELP MEEE...!!
7:17 name of bgm music .??
This channel deserves more subs.
Do please the prince of persia story you never knew please
Dracula LordofShadows A good suggestion!
Treesicle I would also like a talk on Prince of Persia 2008(which is very different than the other Prince of Persia games)... (I frikkin love this game... no matter how unpopular it seems to be... apparently...) Also... the things that made the game for me... are... 1-those DIALOGUES between the prince(who isn't really a prince at all(except maybe in what he's kind of almost in a couple with Elika, who's a kind of a princess?)) and Elika... 2- the characters(both personalities and the appearances) 3- that MUSIC! ... 4- those background and that ART STYLE!!! 5- the lore... 6- the level design... 7- the gameplay(the parkour, the magic, the battles, the collecting made more fun and necessary rather than being a chore, etc.)...^^
i ment pop sand of time, warior within and the the two thrones
Dracula LordofShadows I know, which is why I said "I would also like a talk on Prince of Persia 2008(which is very different than the other Prince of Persia games)"... "also" being a key word.
Dracula LordofShadows Why are you repeating yourself? Did you not read my comment? the "also" was a key word... Meaning... in plus of the Prince of Persia: Sand of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones... do you even understand English? That's what "also" means...
*that was the literal story you never knew about The last of us .. i agreed with every single thought presented in this video ... i cant wait for more of thse keep up the good work*
i forgot how amazing the last of us was
+andy granath How can you forget?
Holy crap, this is amazing! Not only are these videos insightful character studies, but they're hilarious as well. I'm glad I stumbled on them!
Why the hell don't you get the recognition you deserve? These vids are awesome. 1 Mil Subs for Treesicle pL0x
sag asdg haha, we hope to get there eventually! Thanks for the support!
This dude makes the best jokes in all of his vids......keep up the good work dude
How about you make video about Jack or Andrew Ryan from Bioshock? It would be interesting
Lol they had Michael smashing the Xbox in this video XD that was great!
And that's the story you already knew. lol good video though
7:13 I thought Joel wanted gear and stuff from his brother to set HIM on his way. And let Tommy take Ellie to the fireflies.
God i hope they do Vito Scalleta or Niko Bellic one day
The Winter chapter of this game stands out for me!!
That's where Joel and Ellie's relationship mature the most
The story... You already knew
One thing this ame definately got right was its ability to get me to care for the characters, joels daughters death still makes me cry.
Joel had sarah when he was 17?
During the final rescue scene at the hospital he actually ends up finding a lot of notes and records about past experiments with people like Ellie. Obviously the notes are not completely unmitigated, but the gist of them show us that Joel was in fact telling Ellie the truth, there were many failed experiments on people like her and Joel decided to save her rather than allow her to be a sacrifice for what might be a hopeless case.
This isn't what I expected when the title stated "the story you DIDN'T know". This just sums up the whole story in the game.
Thumbed down for uncreativity and plagiatism.
It ain't just the graphics that feel real here.
they are not zombies.
Technacly they are.
+TheGameAngel A zombie is undead, these infected people are not.
+Kevin Glazier thank you for agreeing with me.
there not , there incected humans , still alive just have a fungye in them
could you choke out a zombie? idk you could try
I love the little clip of the red panda falling over. That was cute.
Why are you talking like some talk-show host?
I think that tone of voice completely ruins what you are trying to tell the viewer. The Last of Us is a heartwrenching story of survival but you make it sound like some Disney movie where the good guys always win without consequences. I think this could have been with so much more decorum and taste. I'm disappointed.
You hit the nailon the head joel and ellie emotions switch i notice that
Did you really have to put Adam Sandler? God I hate that guy with Passion
+Oreos Loves milk I honestly don't even know how to explain it, I just blarghhhhhh I don't like him AT ALL
+Ariadna Salinas Same!!!!
+Ariadna Salinas The freaked-out red panda made up for that though..........laughed harder (for longer than I should have) at that than ANY Sandler movie.
I found this comment funny along with the replies because everyone is going on about one little scene in this video that was less than 3 seconds. The way people really try to defend others but it just doesn't matter. So I guess you guys are sensitive about someone talking about something that has nothing to do with the video.
+Lydian77 Oh fucking hell... No.
This is the story people who haven't played this game never knew. It's just a way to let many more people know about the last of us and it's beautiful storyline.
3:22 How the fuck did not a single bullet hit Joel?
If he gets hit then the story won't be able to progress thus making no story.
Bad aim. No recoil control whatsoever.

"We're supposed to be playing Game of War but this one player keeps kicking my ass."

*Cache
We're basically just referring to the weapons haha
Not cash like money. Cache: a collection of items of the same type stored in a hidden or inaccessible place.
Treesicle Oh ok. lol
Randy Williams no its not...
Randy Williams It's not pronounced Cash aye, actually, lol.
Joel: What do they say about eating clocks? It's time consuming.
Ellie: I hate you
I lost it there
wow, almost had me in tears, I saw the pewdz play this and that beginning part where his daughter died had me shedding a few tears
The moral of the story behind TLOU is that the love you feel for the people closest to you is stronger than the love you feel for the whole mankind.
i love these, keep it up man
the last of us is an amazing game
They do it again! Nice job guys.
I really hope they do a sequel in which we get to see what happened to Ellie after the events of the last of us. I like to think that in another 20 years, the infected will have started to die off due to there not being enough humans lefts for them to feed on. By that point, Joel and Tommy are both dead, and Ellie has become the leader of their little commune. With very few human settlements left, especially with enough people to repopulate the earth, Ellie becomes a Moses figure who leads her people to a new home in which to start civilisation all over again: hopefully doing a better job this time.
+Barry Gormley I can mostly agree, however, to me it should be more imperfect. Ellie is just a person like Joel, like all of us. the only difference is she is immune, she survived the spores. as cool as the Moses angle would be, I just want to see her character develop, get older, and undergo all of the things Joel had to go through just to survive this hellish world, whether it is with others or not. It is weird to say but I like the fact that the characters in this story all have flaws and aren't the standard pinnacles of morality, and as much of a fan I am of those angles, The Last of Us is special because the flaws of the characters and their character development give the story a very nice and fresh feeling to me.
Agent Twenty-Six I love that too. However, The Last of Us was primarily the story of how Joel lost his humanity and then found it again. Meanwhile Ellie starts out still having a spark of innocence but by the end of the game she's started to fall into a depression similar the state Joel was in for the 20 years following the death of Sarah. Ideally, a sequel should focus on how Ellie climbs out of this depression just as Joel did in the first game.
+Barry Gormley I can definitely agree to that, but, I will say this. Thinking about it now between my first reply and with what you have said, my thought is now "What if there is more than just the one sequel". Naughty Dogs is known for bringing out franchises for more than just one or two games, and while I would love Ellie's journey climbing out of the same depressed state that Joel had, I wouldn't shine away from one game that brings us that depression she has, giving us everything she has gone through and is going through in one amazing story, then give us another game where, like Joel, Ellie goes through a journey to regain that spark of humanity that she feels she lost all the way back in the first game. Either experience would just be a complete joy of a ride though. :)
There's also a question at the end. It is implied that Ellie's immunity is wearing off. Her rash seemed to get worse which is why she looks at it and pulls up her sleeve when talking to Joel. Also at the end she mentions to go crazy and poetic. I interpret this that she knows she's going to be infected but Joel doesn't realize what she is truely saying.
+Dead Pool ahh shit just realized that man if she gets infected in TLOU2 the feels are gonna strike big time😱😱😱😱
This is why it deserved a GOTY award. This game is a masterpiece.
So good! Definitely will help me craft my own psychological analysis of Joel in the future.
at the end of the game(like my 3rd playthrough in a row) as soon as Joel said I swear, I couldn't stop saying *because you love them*
Wow, telling the same story that the game does when buying and playing it.
Very useful video...
