I had the same issue with WiFi not working every morning on my LG 55UM7000PLC, only thing that helped was completely unplugging the TV from socket and then it would come back to life. After I turned off the "Quick Start" option in All Settings -> General -> Additional settings, it is working like a charm for last week - every morning TV is normally connected to WiFi automatically. Since "Quick Start" is leaving the TV in some "standby sort of" mode, it seems to me that after a long period of being in that state (during the night for example), TV goes crazy and disconnects or whatever. So, TURN OFF that "Quick Start" which is saving you like 3 seconds of your life when turned on.

This works temporarily. But the permanent fix is to remove the back panel of the TV and straighten out the crimped ribbon cables, and make sure they're well connected. There are at least a couple of videos on RUclips that show how to do it. Good luck to all of those who have this problem.

Same problem here except my t.v. Won't find any available Wi-Fi connections even though there are at least four. Same response from LG. I've discovered if I unplug the t.v. When I plug it back in it reconnects with no problem, which is better than doing a Reset and getting logged Out Of EVERYTHING, but I shouldn't Have To Do That. The response they give me to "resolve" my issue really makes me angry. Glad to know i Am Not Alone.

Same thing for me, I talked to multiple LG agent and 1 supervisor. The supervisor told me the wifi router have to be within 3 feet if the TV which doesn't make sense. But even within 3 feet the problems happens. They asked me to send a video which I will do as soon as it happens again. With the wired connection it's ok. I'm sure it's a software/firmware issue. We just need LG to fix it. For now, horrible experience with the support. I'll let you know if I have more details.

I did a video to show LG support, I haven't heard from them yet... Last time it did the issue, the TV did a reset by itself of all the configurations. I had to enter all my accounts information (wifi, netflix, google). I will let you know if I have news. Are you guys using the real remote or the LG TV plus app to control your TV?

    • @pats464646
      @pats464646 6 лет назад +1

Just to put more information, the first time I called the support team asked me to do a reset and to plug a wired ethernet cable when the problem happens. I did the reset and the problem happened a couple of days later. When I plugged the wired ethernet everything was fine. The problem seems to affect only WiFi.

I have a LG 65UJ6300 and I figured this out. I already had the latest firmware but the wifi was still was cutting in and out. I opened up the back by unscrewing all the screws and then there were three clips on each side of the tv still keeping it closed. I pulled up on each side more firmly and the back cover popped off. Then I just confirmed the wifi module was plugged in, pressing the connections firmly while not touching anything metal. Then I sprayed it with compressed air.
Finally, I reversed the procedure popping the back cover clips on each side using moderate pressure and then putting the screws back in. Lo and behold it worked!

I got this years ago and like so many the tv started to get issues after warranty. A few finishes would work then it would go back to disconnecting and LG support was non existent. HOW TO FIX - The WiFi card in this tv is positioned at a very awkward angle that bends the wires. It’s not a hard fix but fidly. Place tv on a couch and unscrew the back cover to find the WiFi card (think it’s middle bottom from memory). The car is made cheaply and the way the wires are positioned causes it to get faulty. You can either get a cheap replacement or if you’re lucky I just unplugged, cleaned and positioned the wires at an angle where they are not bent. If you have an issue with this tv disconnecting, lagging and slow etc, this is the fix.

My LG TV didn’t want to automatically connect to my Wi-Fi. I finally figured it out. The fix was in correct Wi-Fi router settings and not the TV. It has something to do with Wi-Fi network channel and band. I think the Wi-Fi router has to be set on 2.4 GHz for the TV to find it automatically. In my browser I opened my router settings and set the Network Band to 2.4 GHz and set the Network channel to 11 (1 and 6 work probably as well). My security type is WPA2-Personal. After this network channel/band fix (setting the band to 2.4 Ghz and setting the channel to 11) my TV always automatically connects to Wi-Fi. No problems after that.

You need to replace the Wifi card. It cost in between $12 to $20 for the wifi card and it only takes about 10 minutes to fix it yourself. Seems like LG smart tvs made from 2017 to 2019 have this problem but LG refuses to acknowledge it.

Ravinder Kumar there is a problem with frequencies of router , there are 2 antennas 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz . Split your router connections to each antennas in router settings in wifi options. Tv not working properly with 5 GHz , You have to choose 2,5 GHz and will be Perfect:)

I had the same issues with another model of LG. When I bought it, it doesn't have any issue. After one or two month, wireless started to drop down. Then they changed wireless combo module. It worked properly for one or two month and again the same issue. Now they changed both wireless module and main board together. One month is passed and still it is working. Let's see what will happen.

This is a known hardware issue, thx to the speaker being too close to the flat cable connector, it can cause vibration that "tampers" the connection between the cable from the wifi card to the motherboard, if it stucks without WIFI after rebooting, which will only work when the cable it's "seated okish" only "reseating" the cable will work.
unscrew the back panel tv, the wifi cable has a written WIFI word on it, this flat cable goes to a blackbox near the power/joystick button, with another falt cable actually going to the power/joystick button, unscrew this box, and clean the cable on both ends (wifi only)

FOR EVERYONE COMING ACROSS THIS ISSUE: I was struggling with this sh*t for the last year. Lately my remote was freezing every 5 seconds and the TV couldn’t connect to internet. JUST DO A FACTORY RESET USING THE CODE: 0000. This fixed all my issues, I found the solution myself. So easy but so worthy.

I had already contacted LG about this, and a technician came to my place to see the TV. He had some sort of "magical" remote control to check the TV, and said the TV was ok. Of course the problem didn't happen with him here, as it is intermittent. Also, I tried to manually update the firmware, but the problem still remains.

I know the vid and the comments are "kinda" old, but for people having problems with WLAN (not cable) try the following:
    1. open up the bar with all the apps on the bottom
    2. open "LG screen share"
    3. turn off "listen mode"
I dont know why this bullshit mode is interfering with the WIFI, but thats the problem for many people.
When i was testing my internet speed via Netflix i got around 0,5 - 1,0 Mbit... after the fix i have my full speed of 100Mbit.
    Hope i could help!

After I had talked to an LG tech on the phone, and he could not help me...
I figured it would be a good idea to wire the TV directly into the Wi-Fi modem via Ethernet cable, with the idea that the TV would automatically update all of its systems when provided within internet connection...
I don't know if it has anything to do with it but I then went into the account management settings and created an LG account, then while the TV was still plugged into Wi-Fi modem via Ethernet I turned it off and unplugged it, waited a few seconds, then Rebooted the TV. Then with the ethernet still plugged in I went to the Wi-Fi settings and connected to Wi-Fi and it worked just fine, I've been unplugged the ethernet cable and the WiFi still continue to work..

You need to format the USB drive with the FAT32 file system. On a Mac, you can use the Disk Utility to do that. Then follow the software update guide from this link: gscs-b2c.lge.com/downloadFile?fileId=AtX2OrsNv6XsgzEfnzoMfg

Hi yeti thanks for this , This is not the solution but a great workaround. There is something wrong with all the WIFI modules and motherboards on 2017 LG TVs. I have 65SJ800V SUHD TV. On Day one I had a Mainboard failure , I got a new TV , Now just a few months later , endless problems with the WIFI. Disabling Quick Start + has the same effect as unplugging the TV. So you can do a hard reset on the TV with your Remote. QUickstart+ Does not make your TV boot much faster in any case. MobileTV on is a completely useless feature also that doesn't work for me at all. The App does everything when the TV is already on but cannot even find the TV when it is off . Thanks again.
