Absolutely. Zero reason to use the 50 drums when the 41 rounder sticks are better at everything else and reload SO much faster.

Friendship ended with MP5, MP5K is my new best friend. It basically controls the same while being significantly cheaper, shorter, takes up less inventory space, better ergonomics, and much more likely to come back in insurance. It's also still compatible with the HK mount so you can put a cheap sight on it. Even an optic like a Specter still works. You can beam people from a pretty decent range with the new recoil.

The Mp5K with a drum is actually very good now. Also that rat was probably doing what I do, and camping a corner for twenty minutes or so to let everyone clear out of the raid before going after quest items/locations - you just happened to go where he was.
the best tactic to go after quests and shit, sit in a corner for 10/20 mins and go in when everyone's gone, bonus point if you do it at night

@@reedoken6143 it's not about being allergic to players. It's about being efficient in questing. If I want to go around PvPing all the time I'll go do exactly that, if I'm just questing i want the least amount of PvP possible to increase the percentage of coming out alive
Started playing a couple days ago and your guides for the wipe have been fantastic! Honestly the community for this game seems really cool and im glad i picked the game up!
I'm just glad SMGs that aren't just the vector / p90 are able to shine
Now, it genuinely feels like most to all weapons in the game can hold their own in a fight now, other than shotguns lol
Shotguns are hella fun this wipe. First time i've actually enjoyed doing setup because you can shred people thru armor.

Didn't mention the .45 vector. 30 round mags off skier 2 for a pack of cigs and roughly 30-45k for the gun itself off the flea. Definitely my go to right now, feels much better after the recoil changes

the MP9 has been my favorite gun this wipe. Its always been good, but now its basically a laser beam that fires at 1100rpm. with the armor rework, im killing people so fast even with magdumping the chest/stomach.
MP5K doesn't just have "a" stock, it has multiple adapters that will either fit G36, ACR or Buffer Tube stocks. I mean there probably isn't a point with anything beyond the very basic stock due to the already very low recoil but it's not like it's the only option either; also fwiw the MP5 also has similar adapters. There's also handguards for it (M-LOK and M1913) so you could fit more ergonomic grips or tactical devices. Look all I'm saying is there is no reason we can't pimp out an MP5K just like any other weapon besides that BSG are cowards.
Loving the new music bro, and fr, SMGs are incredible this wipe, but the AK 545 and other carbines are going crazy this wipe, one tapped a juicer using PS
Man this new recoil has me scared now, i found a surplus of 7.62 ps and a little bit if bp, these guys are very manageable full auto with minimal modding, the ak i built is 94 vertical recoil and i have no issues controlling it, for longer ranges i literally just crouch and spray
Another point: since good rounds are now locked behind top tier traders, ap6.3 has one of the best penetration values you can get on traders level 3, excluding .308 and exotic stuff. Combined with high rate of fire of smgs and the fact that a lot of vests have only soft armor at neck and shoulders - you don`t even need to hit those heads.
Man, as a man who has made it halfway through the assault tree in arena (My dedicated tree, I unlocked the G36, M3 super 90, Ak 101, and M4A1) AP 6.3 out of the MP9 is a menace at all tiers, and the only thing that can really stop it is CQB's face shields. The headshot game with 9mm is very strong, especially out of some of the bullet hoses for guns.
While you’re on the topic of an MP5K stock, BSG needs to add the option to putting an esmarch on certain AK stocks. Soviet troops wrapped them around their stocks during the Soviet-Afghan War

Ive been asking for that MP5K folding stock for so long, itd make it less of a meme (even though its now extremely useable) and instead a quick high-ergo alternative to an MP5 that you dont have to mod much other than the stock to get that really good ergo
Been running MPX since unlocked it at peacekeeper and oh Lord, it feels so good, no recoil, high ergo, high rate of fire, just perfect!

I repaired a scav saiga-9, took it to woods with low tier ammo, and literally HS every single scav and pmc I came across. The new throat hitbox is crazy, I've seen even the pm or TT do amazingly well with how easy it is to HS now...
7N42 looks like a crazy round for the SR-2M. I think it might be found in raid only.

Hey, from a fellow tarkov player, I reccomend trying to run an MP5 with the lvl 1 mount. From there, any sight you’d like to use. Don’t forget to use 30 round magazines, and you’ll be fine.

Mp5k strikes me as a convenient backup for a sniper rifle, it can fit into your rig and lets you loot a 2nd gun and a sidearm

It's so nice that so many guns are finally viable again, I stopped playing when they fucked recoil because the ONLY options after that were to throw 2 million dollars worth of shit onto the M4 or 416.
mp5 kurz is now indeed god tier. super cheap day 1 weapon with 0 recoil.

i actually had a really good raid as a PMC with the mp5k, killed a good amount of scavs until I got wounded (did not bring any medical items)... but the game server decided to mess with me and go on a seizure and have server connection lost as I died!!! lost my kills and exp. got my gear back but next raid, thanks to the server issue, i lost those in an instant... got no kills... no exp and lost my gear.
I have no clue why they dont give the mp5k the folding stock, its so stupid to not have it in game
So happy they fixed recoil, now I can actually enjoy this game after years of that bs no-stock ass recoil.

I know that 5.56 and 5.45x39 ammos are 'rifle' caliber but are there any short rifles in this game that come close to the performance of the SMGs shown in the video? Are the short rifles easier to get then the MP5s and P90s?

I think some guns might need slight tweaking because some are definitely too good, but I hope bsg only makes minor changes to recoil in the future. While it seems like the recoil is unrealistic based on what we ised to have and what you would expect from other shooter games, this is actually the most realistic recoil ive ever seen in any game. Anyone whose ever shot a variety of guns would know that the recoil is now very realistic, like I said some are a little too good but for the most part it acts like it would in real life
SMG enjoyers, don’t sleep on 45 ACP, Match FMJ does 72 flesh and 25 pen, most soft spots on armors are only level 2.
Title seems accurate. Every kill I've had so far has been with an SMG, although I suppose you could debate whether a few of them count, all depending on whether you consider Saiga 9 an SMG
I like smgs, esp the mp5, but honestly aks 74 while not an smg it's basically in that category of "spray volume and land shots", and with how abundant ak mods are you can make a relatively cheeky budget krink build while sacrificing nothing, hell even 5.45 ps is more abundant that decent 9x19 ammo (im level 12 still, so I'm not even rep lvl 2, but 1 good woods raid and im rolling in ps, pp, and bp rounds). My one contention i guess is that mp5s are so basic and common people will probably not loot it, whereas a krink with mods will def be lost so for solo players (including myself) the value of 9x19 smgs is that besides scavs and timmies, most players will not prioritize looting your laser cannon, unless it's VERY nice or you hurt someone really important to them.
hommie, the 45 vector is so good, you can get the 30 rounders for it as a lvl 2 barter from skir for a pack of strikes. fmj is strong and lvl 2 pk and you only need a sight. and the magdump is something evil. Running it all day and people hate it

While I despise the old recoil system, I feel like in parts they overcorrected; When you get these laser beam kills with low recoil, it's amazing, but then when you are on the receiving end it seriously feels like irrespective of what you did, you had zero chance.
I am not saying bring the old system back but I feel like there should be a teeny tiny bit more initial recoil.

Prior to this wipe, i wouldnt even vendor an mp5k, this wipe, ive used the mp5k to destroy several people from greater than 20m...an unheardof feat in prior wipes, hell i couldnt hit anyone with the mp5k from 5m away before. I just smoked a dude that was wearing l3 armor, and running a fully modded ak74n... FROM 30M LOL
I’m glad 9x21 got nerfed. It never made sense why 9x21 (a European cartridge originally created to match 9x19 for civilian use) shredded armor when 9x19 didn’t come close in this game when the two calibers are so close to being the same cartridge….
Lmao I just last night got out of a Customs raid with 3 quest objectives from 3 different corners of the map, hit dorms marked, got the new Spear, and 3 PMC’s with a literal single 16 round mag +1 PS PPO of a PL-15, pistol calibers really are usable again.
