Living in Sweden I often see these logging trucks with the rear mounted crane and every time I wish we had those in game instead of the mid mounted ones.
For the American drop deck semi trailer,it’s actually really really common for the axles to be in that weird configuration to spread out the weight distribution
thanks for info...the trailers I found with those configuration usually has a toolbox between those axles but again There might be 100 variations of such trailers
@@SD1ONE Correct. On some of those trailers you can move one or both axles forward or back to spread them out or combine them depending on the needs and weight ratings desired. If the two axles are up against each other they are legally limited to 32,000 pounds of weight while spread apart each axle is legally rated to 20,000 pounds thus allowing you to legally put 40,000 across both axles. I don't think this is a common thing in Europe as they seem to simply add more much smaller axles to spread the weight out.
@@SD1ONE I've pulled a couple of those trailers. Although, they're most commonly called step-decks. I prefer the 3-axle versions we had with tool boxes in front of the lead axles. Very handy for tie-downs and chains.
2:15 Utility trailer is actually van body sit on the sideboard trailer with sideboards removed. Notice at center of the bed, the slot for the pole that hold sideboard at both sides is still there. 2:45 Maintenance trailer is the same like Utility trailer. Just a Maintenance add-on sit on the sideboard trailer with sideboards removed. 3:22 This trailer is not only for farm. In 80s and 90s, maybe also 60s and 70s, it's very common to see a truck with this trailer towing behind, hauling various kind of cargo including but not limited to farming product, construction material, packaged product, coal or ore, etc. But back to those days, most of these trailers are single tire, not dually like Snowrunner. They are not common now days because they are banned from freeway due to safety concern. So the 3 trailers above are actually the same trailer with different add-ons. Since the game doesn't support to change add-on on trailer, they make 3 separate trailers. You have 3 trailers missing: 4-axle flatbed trailer, side curtain trailer and generator trailer. The side curtain trailer is 4-axle trailer with side curtain. The generator trailer is actually a container-shaped generator set sit on the 4-axle flatbed trailer with side poles removed. So these 3 trailers are actually the same trailer with different add-ons, too. 4:55 This trailer is also common in US. They are called "Deck-over flatbed trailer". The term "deck-over" indicates that the whole flatbed is above trailer wheel, there is no fender bulb out of the bed. 5:09 the RL trailer is the one that more common than deck-over in USA. When you simply say flatbed trailer, it usually refer to this type. 5:28 it's flatbed trailer with side curtain installed. It's doable, just not that common because people usually use enclosed or box trailer instead. In US, most flatbed trailers and flatbed trucks has pole socket all around its bed, they are used to install add-ons like side board, side railing, side curtain or chain link. If you play American Truck Simulator, and Euro Truck Simulator 2, side curtain and side board (ETS2 only) are add-ons for flatbed trailers. 5:53 In China, some time people convert sideboard semi into flatbed by remove all sideboards and poles that hold sideboard close. For situations like moving oversize cargo, they remove poles only, sideboards are remain open and hang on side and rear of trailer by sideboard hinges). Usually the front wall will be retained because it's welded. This trailer seems flatbed from factory because there is no pole socket and sideboard hinges remains. 6:12 this axle configuration is very common in USA. It's called separate axle compare to tandem axle. Both flatbed and dry van trailer have this configuration. Flatbeds seems more common. There are several reasons including weight laws to make them like this. (search:separate axle trailer)
Thanks for all this information. I could've saved so much time with those terms you mentioned & might get even better match if I had met you before making this video but still I'll note it down for future videos.
😂The movie star trailer at 7:02, I did some looking on the internet and there are trailers that look like that, hard to find, more then likely a custom made trailer.
6:55 Pictured there is actually something completely different that is technically not even a trailer. That is a modular loading and transport system. They are highly advanced units that typically are just a single bogey axle with self adjusting hydraulic suspension and often steering. They attach as many of these units together as needed based on weight to be moved and terrain. These units work in synchonous to automatically adapt to uneven road conditions to keep the deck of the trailer completely level and even. These units are commonly used for both extremely heavy, as well as extremely large cargo, particularly for delicate things like houses.
Man, great video! Also taught me somethings too! Couple of the small trailers i didn't know were actually real. Especially the red 2-slot sideboard. Very cool SD, very cool. Did shock me when i learned the Kung trailer only has single tires. Think that would be very unstable.
@@SD1ONE Yup. I live in Poland, I see similar trailers on roads, but I never realized that Saber's vision of service scout trailer is probably based of polish ones
Actually...By YT experience I can tell that most people only see pictures and ignore text or atleast they don't read it for every featured item...So for better retention I reduce clips because better retention means RUclips algo pushing it more to people... 8:21 One of the many times where they could not practically replicate real life in game. Turbine blades are MASSIVE and simply would be too long for the game and quite impossible to get anywhere. I used to move long loads, 115' (35 meters) long. Wind blades are nearly twice that in length. The in-game step deck is only a 48' model. So imagine trying to navigate something 2.4x longer anywhere in Snowrunner! And thats just the load, heh.

6:12 Dang. If i had known i could have gotten you pictures, video or even live tours of a step deck trailer and a few others. I used to use the Long Log style a LOT. I could say all the things they got right... And all the things they got VERY wrong with it. Egregiously so in one case.
Its different for different people honestly but I feel year 1 overall is great, year 3 is also nice...year 2 on 3rd priority...year 4 is hard to say because it's just 1 season so far.
Quite interesting just how similar some trailers were to their irl counterparts. Now if only the semi fuel and some other unrealistically weighted trailers actually weighed more than a feather, and the electrical and/or air hose connections and line worked for every suitable trailer. Well, one can hope the attention to detail is brought into the newer games.
Yeah, Those lack of details just magnifies the generic factor of these trailers...It wasn't the case with old Mudrunner....the wiring, etc was there in that game.
Fun fact! The fuel addon is actually way too heavy compared with other ones. Fuel is so much lighter than water that a loaded fuel truck/trailer will actually float in water. That the game one is instead stupid heavy is just completely wrong. But all trailer and vehicle weights are completely wrong compared to real life. If one tried to replicate these conditions, none of these trucks could even hope to move at all and would have to be dragged out by a large tracked vehicle. Because that is what happens in real life. It is so common, in fact, that most such trucks, have a permanent shackle point on the front of their truck for a tow dozer to hook into. Plus, the large, platform-like bumper you can put on the Twin Steer and Civilian ANK is designed for a bulldozer to just shove against with its blade. And, yes, to stand on as needed. I would guess that it was done this way because they wanted to challenge people because they would use a fuel truck more often than the other vocational add-ons. But, it gives a purpose to my multi-axle US trucks, like the free DLC caterpillar truck with the lift axle. Much more stable with the lift axle lowered.
