- With 26 restaurants, 7 coveted Michelin Stars, and award-winning television programs, Gordon Ramsay has proven himself to be one of the world's greatest chefs. And now that you've earned back five minutes, take that time to learn what inspires him in the kitchen and in life.
Specialized Tuna Nicoise Salad:
Serves 4
2 pounds Ahi Tuna loin
¼- ½ cup Sesame seeds
½ pound Fingerling potatoes cut in half lengthwise
¼ pound Green beans trimmed sliced in half
1/3 cup Pitted nicoise or other black brined olives, sliced
½ cup Shallot, sliced into thin rings
½ pound Cherry tomatoes cut in half
12 Anchovy filets (optional)
¼ cup Balsamic vinegar
3 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
8 each Eggs
4 each Romaine hearts or baby gem lettuce
Chopped parsley
Lemon Dijon Vinaigrette:
½ teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
½ cup olive oil
Method:
1. Bring 3 medium pots of salted water to a boil. Add the potatoes to 1 pot and blanch until tender, about 6 to 10 minutes. Drain in a colander, pat dry, and set aside. Add the green beans to the other pot and blanch until tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Drain in a colander, pat dry, and set aside.
2. In the third pot add eggs and boil for 6 minutes. Remove and quickly plunge under cold running water or an ice bath to stop the cooking. The eggs should still have a runny yolk.
3. For the dressing, add all ingredients in the bowl except the oil. Using a whisk stir in the oil to emulsify. Season as needed to taste and set aside
4. Portion the tuna loin into 4 equal portions. Season the tuna steaks with salt, ground pepper, sesame seeds and olive oil on all sides. Heat a large skillet (or 2 medium skillets), over high heat. When the oil is hot but not smoking, add tuna portions and sear all sides about 30 seconds per side for medium-rare. The tuna should still be bright red in the center.
5. In a large mixing bowl, add potatoes, green beans, olives, shallots, cherry tomatoes, anchovies and parsley. Coat this with balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper to taste.
6. Tear or chop the lettuce into bite-size pieces and combine with other ingredients in bowl. Toss with enough of the vinaigrette, just to coat. Adjust seasonings with salt and pepper as needed.
7. Arrange the lettuce in the center of 4 large plates (or 1 serving platter). Spoon the remaining vegetables around the lettuce to frame.
8. Slice the tuna into three long slices per serving and arrange on top of lettuce. Slice each egg in half lengthwise and place on the vegetables.
9. Drizzle the plate with additional dressing to finish and serve immediately

I was like, "is this actually Gordon Ramsey?", and then his last words were "this is fucking delicious" and I was like "oh there he is".
Lol
Yep that's Gordon for ya!
this comment beats it all
gordon is actually a really kind passionate guy. But yelling sells reality TV. He's actually very kind and understanding with the kids on his master chef for kids series, it's great.
I don't think the yelling is all fake. He's got no tolerance for laziness, low standards, cutting corners, or anything that insults the name chef
I first seen Gordon on tv at the age of 12. His passion brushed off on me. The utter dedication and sacrifice he made for food changed my life. I now run my own Rosette kitchen in the Scottish highlands. All my food comes from within 30miles of my doorstep. I've never ordered anything frozen or processed. I make my own cheese, grow my own veg and I've killed and butcher many animals to use in my kitchen. I have hens and fresh eggs. My milk and cream come from a farmer that lives literally 10psteps from the restaurant. My passion is strong, I'm now 28 and have saved money and will be travelling for 3 years to France and New Zealand to further my skills. All of this was made possible, my entire career, my success and my drive, all came from 1 man, Gordon. Thank you.
congrats, keep working, wish you all the best
Hello there, congratulations for your great success and let me say that I cannot help but admire your passion. I want to be a cook, as well what kind of process I should follow? In the Hotel I work I gonna joing the Kitchen team but it has different section, like hot, cold, meat... Which way should I follow?
@@noyanackgoz5090 do whatever you like the most
Absolutely amazing. I hope all is going well
congrats, i wish the best for you :)
This man has so much passion. I begin to understand that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, the book has more depth and story. This man cares, not like other chefs.
IslamOfBeauty exactly
Is there a book about his growing up and getting into cooking?
Yes there is, it's called humble pie which you can find at amazon. I even got it signed by him!
All chef's care, if they don't, they're not a chef.
If you cannot judge a book by the cover, what is the point in the cover?
Wow, so much hate for Gordon. What's wrong with you guys? I just love him, his level of passion that he puts into everything he does is not even close to other chefs.
Vegan Power based on what?
Vegan Power Have you met him? If not, how the fuck could you say this. If yes, then have your opinion all you like.
Vegan Power No, you most certainly would not. But you cannot compare someone who ordered the burning of 6 million people to a guy who has an authoritarian act in the kitchen while running his business. Sure you are entitled to your opinion, and I shan't refute it further. However, I do think you should know more about someone than their reputation before you make rash decisions about who they are.
Vegan Power you are assuming things based on a TV show? lol
Vegan Power Ok, so you agree, he, as an authoritarian, could in fact be a nice guy. If he is or not, I have no idea.
There’s nobody who speaks as passionately about cooking as Gordon Ramsay.
1000 subs 0 vids ....reminds me so much of Julia Child

I truly appreciate Gordons love and passion for what he does. It hit me when he said that he cooks for 60 min on a dish only for it to be eatin in 2 min. His Obsession is why Gordon is by far the best Chef !! People see how he is wealthy and his popularity has SPREAD !! Across the US. But honestly he remains. GORDON !! A MAN WHO REFLECTS HONOR AND PASSION AND OBSESSION !! FOR THE ART !! Love it !!!
Phillip Santana lmao nope
Constantine Desjardins My Friend !! That's true Passion. Respect it !!!
"When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master."
Weston Dennis where'd he day that what part
Only a master of evil
Thats cuz he didnt wanted to be gay lmao
I am from India
That’s what I told my former employer, he got pissed 😠. I am the master now
Gordon, hire this camera guy for your other work!
Key Luke I couldnt see though... it wasnt shaking and zoomed in enough.
Key Luke disagree. Couldn't see the atoms in the ingredients. Not zoomed enough.
Jaysen AU 😂
Dude was fucking rubbish i couldnt see a thing with all that shaking and no focus.
every time I feel the passion I have for cooking go out,I just watch gordon ramsay cook.just the way he looks at the ingredients and comes up with these recipes and ideas It instantly relights my passion and motivation for cooking.
The entire video I thought he wasn't going to swear, and in the final few seconds he said "Fucking delicious!" and I was like welp, there goes that...
RodRacing lol
That's a record
Specialized, you need to make more "5 minutes" with people clips. This is great.
Cooking helped me in a small sense battle my depressive suicidal thoughts.
It was a way to escape. I use to abuse drugs in order to escape reality but once I stopped I turned to my long loved passion of cooking. It's a way for me to forget about my problems and the negative thoughts in my head. When I'm cooking I'm focused on what I'm doing, the ingredients, the timing and everything else. It's truly therapeutic and stress reliving. Hearing the sound of knives and crunchy vegetables being chopped and the sizzling of the oils and the aromas. I love cooking very much and although I'm not at a Gordon Ramsay level I can understand when he speaks about food :)
If you’ve ever seen him in person he is nothing like what you see on TV. This man is the best at his job hands down and has a passion for what he does. He is a hard ass but he will go that extra mile to help anyone who has that drive and passion to be a great chef. His love for what he does is an understatement. This man is the best of the best in the food industry.
Seeing how passionate Gordon really is about food makes me understand why he gets so mad in kitchen nightmares.
Not only that, bad food is dangerous. Bad food could kill someone.
There was an episode where a guy almost died eating a lobster at a restaurant in Kitchen Nightmare. After Gordon checked it, the lobster was rotten & reeked of amonia. Gordon was furious at the restaurant's owner & the chef.
What he really gets mad about are two things - waste and cleanliness. If a kitchen is dirty, hell hath no fury
He's an inspiration also outside of the industry simply because he has a genuine passion for what he does, very brilliant guy Ramsay is
What a cool dude. Authentic. Loves what he does.
Its just not Gordon Ramsay if the 'F-bomb' ain't dropped...
adamthestimator 'it's fucking delicious'
FUCK
Jake S a
Fockin ell
Yes it is watch til the end
When you realize Gordon Ramsay is not some guy that roasts everyone, hes actually fucking inspirational.
It is indeed a passion. I like cooking & Gordon has taught me useful things. He definitely earned his success.
5 minutes of amazing cooking, ends with "Fucking delicious"
You're the man, Gordon. you're the man
Wow...why there are tears on my eyes?
I know we could all listen to him speak for hours. Such passion and inspiration. Thank you for sharing
I got goosebumps watching this video. Gordon will always be my idol! The best man in the world, i haven't even met him and i feel that the way he speaks in the video warms my heart more than my dad had ever done. Gordon=Angel!
Love you Gordon ! You inspire me EVERY TIME !
I had no idea that Gordon Ramsay raced Kona. Kudos for being multi-talented and thanks for the killer post-ride recipe.
+Bill Strathearn That was a marketing opportunity wasted by Kona. Which is why I find weird that a cooking video is being published by a cycling company.
Crimson Sunrise I later learned that kona invites are not always based on merit and qualification. This explains how famous people could race without being an actual triathlete
Bill Strathearn I still fail to see how a company that has no Time Trial models could promote thriatlon events.
+Crimson Sunrise There is a tri specific Shiv model. Craig Alexander rode it. So makes perfect sense.
GazelleOnWheels Yes, but the Shiv is a Specialized bike. Kona has no thriatlon models.
I love Gordon he's such an inspiration for me. His food really inspires me
I love Gordon Ramsey He is Why i wanna become a chef and i hope i Can work with him in the future
Not a huge Ramsey fan because of his tv show and how they portray him for ratings but in a 5 min video...really got see how much he loves cooking and why its such important part of his life. My new inspiration. Food,Family and my bike...thats all i need to be happy!!!!!
I love gordon and how passionate he is, I watch every show and every video about him, makes wonder why I didn't study for chef, feels bad man.
It's never too late. Keep it going!
I don't know why but he is my favorite chef. Maybe a little mainstream for saying it but his passion and ideas are awesome. He never over complicated the fish but does simple with so much finesse. Remarkable
Wow he didn't swear the entire video...
4:55
Aaaaaaand it's gone.
he is very inspire me, travel for something that he wanted to learn, and now he deserve it!
Love him for raw authenticity and passion. Never forgets his humble beginnings either.
Such an inspiration..I truly feel lucky to be alive at his time and enjoy this man's fine craft, what a legend!
Don't exeggerate it.
@@ilmu011 As Gordon says: fuck off will you?
I love Gordon, his passion transcends in this video. Always loved him for his craft.
He’s a magician working smoothly like lightning in the Kitchen. He makes everything look easy and he has a real huge HEART to help as much people as he can.
If there is one man who is very passionate about his job.. It will be this man!!
I learned my passion for cooking from him. Thank you Gordon!
I found this very inspirational, I cook for my family and love to try new things. And then I get to eat my creations, the best part.
I love this guy! Wish I was related to him can learn so much in life
You don't have to be related to someone to learn something from them.
+mobspeak but he would be there to make me learn lol
TROY You sure about that?
mobspeak if you were a close relative thn yh
He could learn some manners though
Gordon is not only a great Chef, he is also a passionate artist! Simply amazing!
An amazing man. So practical, so much common-sense. Respect. From Johannesburg.
I could watch Gordon all day long, well in fact I do watch him all day long. Have such love for this guy and everything he does, I am so glad he got his injury and never made it into the Rangers team otherwise he would never be where he is now and doing all these wonderful amazing things.
Can really resonate with him when he's this chill and down to earth
Thumbs up if you think Gordon should play Batman after Ben Affleck
I am the fuckin Batman
Na man your just an obese basement dweller
X
He's fat
Paul Sack That don't make any sens
I love his passion.
I don't normally get emotional, but this was surprisingly brilliant
This is one of the best video out there
love his ability to create complexity in flavours. look how he elevated a simple salat nicoise, unbelievable....
He's so passionate and so inspiring ❤
He's right that cooking is a life skill that everyone should have. So many people joke about not being able to cook and they just get takeaway all the time, but it's not a joke. Get off your ass and learn how to do a necessary life skill if you want to be healthy and live a good life. And lazy people just throw together anything they have to, but they don't realise that putting a bit of effort into it means they can get DELICIOUS meals that are also very healthy. I just can't respect anyone who doesn't respect that cooking is an important life skill.
+Brett Wilson Exactly why I am teaching my kids how to cook. So they don't grow up depending on Fast Food or junk form stores. At least they know what they are eating this way and what all is in it.
my mom taught me early on, i would help her in the kitchen, i still do! her mom taught her early on too! I agree with you cooking is so essential.. cooking is life!!
I can only make eggs and pancakes, I can't cook anything else xD I want to cook because of Gordon, I've watched his tv shows for most of my life and he is a big inspiration to me. I'm going to learn how to cook more complicated dishes because of Gordon; I was planning on buying food from restaurants and fast food places when I get into college, but that is going to be way more expensive than just making food myself. Problem is humans have become very lazy over time and we need to fix that. Gordon got me interested in cooking my own meals and that's what I'm going to do. It's good to have an interest in cooking, but that interest is useless if you never cook for yourself and taste your own food and see how you can improve it next time. Food is an art that you can taste; just cook, taste, and improve, and it's a cycle of culinary improvement.
In Uganda the cooking consists of living corpses
The way gordan talks about food and the way he is soo passionate he loves what he does and the food that he cooks not alot of people think about food in that way it is art and ratatouille taught me no what who you are anybody can cook an dont be afraid to fail i plan on going to culinary because of him.
i'm a 21 year old girl and i hope one day i can be half as successful and dedicated as he is, truly an inspiration
Started cooking by watching his videos, going through many recipes with the lack of a lot of ingredients not available in Asia (hard to find those rare thingy), replacing it with similarities or absolute different stuff. And made the same dishes over and over 10 or 20 times in months, now I have great recipes for my own originated by Gordon. He's an inspiration. I learned self-cooking from him, now I gotta learn how to eat healthy too (scientifically) lol
How can anyone hate Gordon Ramsey.
He's a genius in the kitchen and so so passionate about food.
I'm watching one by one kitchen nightmares and his other series.
If all chefs shared his passion there wouldn't be any kitchen nightmares episodes.
Gordon is so talented I would love to meet Gordon cook with him.
When I was younger I hated how mean he was. Now I just love his personality. He's one person in the kitchen and another at home. It's crazy how far he's come!
@4:55 ok that's Gordon...
I'm happy I live in the era of gordan . Godforbid when he passes I'll be an old man looking up to him knowing I seen the best chef that ever existed.
Mans like you gordon,, are simple inspiration for the human being.. thank you..
He's so energetic you can't interview him for 5 minutes without seeing him cook something.
i love the way he cooks. i wish i could take some classes directly from him. he is amazing. love him
Tha man is an encyclopedia of food, ingredients and creativity
Having celiac disease, being diabetic, and lactose intolerant and a bunch of other health issues, makes it really hard to enjoy food. I'm not worried about eating something that tastes good, I just want to eat something that won't kill me .
It’s Gordon Ramsay...the world class chef ...my “F” for me to him is Fabulous , Fantastic ,Favorite chef and I am a Fan ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic chef and a legend. I’m truly inspired. Seven days a week food is our fuel for the rest of our lives. So true !
My respect for the man just went up 100%
Love you, Gordon! The perfect man, chef, father, tv guy!
I love this man.
you're simply amazing...Gordon ramsay👍
You can almost see him buzzing with energy.
His passion is infectious. I don't even like cooking but listening to him talking about cooking got me wanting to be a chef LOL
Gordon does a great job, an amazing chef.. True he might get angry at some people because they don't pay attention to the food they are cooking, and it upsets Gordon when people do that because he has such a passion for food. Long Life Gordon.
I've always liked to cook but I'd never become a chef, but something resonated with me when he said cooking is a life skill. Man has an amazing mind
What amazes me is the absolute respect he has for every single ingredient he uses. He cares, he actually cares about what he puts on the plate.
hes my motivation💝
he's like motivation for anyone that is starting to learning how to cook
+NightCrow ofcourse.. but he also is a good replication of determination; which is what a lot of people strive for :)
of course i mean a lot of people these days r too lazy
I'd like to subscribe to your food channel 👻
Olivia Rose right on sister same here
Gordon is on another level
Gordon is not wrong on scolding or mocking people..he's just being honest..for me.. personally.. he's my idol..he has a kind heart..and he will always give the best motivation and tips to young chefs..if u guys hate Gordon so much..you might want to re - consider because he's just a legend
didnt know he was just a cyclist. but i do like him for saying what he thinks all the time. and he seems like a nice guy when hes not going off haha
chef*, you mouldy pillock
+BATMAN sorry batman my mum left me out and i got mouldy. dont you hate it when mums do that...oh wait...sorry...
Good one! this mans does iron man triathlons
Damn impressive
i've always loved Gordon, but now I have a new found level of respect for where he came from.
....amazing...he love food ...and the passion that he have for food ...make him what he is today...
I wouldn't be surprised if Mr chef ramsey puts lemon juice and pepper with a slight drop of salt in his bowl of cereal.
Dont forget the olive oil
Aside from the joke, lemon juice and milk dont mix very well :D
@@epiqboy a teaspoon or just a touch of olive oil
he should put a little bit of vinegar on the vinegar
I'm wondering if he also seasoned the vinegar and put a touch of olive oil on it. Lol
He put lemon 2 or 3X. Vinaigrette 2X. That thing must be Sour Salad.
Nice guy and loves his trade.
Did not get this far without hard work, very proud Family Man.
5 minutes and 2 seconds with Gordon Ramsay
Honestly Gordon made me want to persue culinary to a professional level. The idea to travel and learn the food is a dream...
Ramsey: "... And that, it's what I call my special Tuna Niçoise... fucking delicious."
Tuna Niçoise: "Yes chef! Sorry chef!"
For every 1 person like him that makes a huge success of themselves, has a huge back story and with a big loving family, there are 10,000 others just like him that never had the real chance to succeed due to unexpected life factors like being born in the wrong place at the wrong time and with the wrong parents/opportunities/social environment etc. All I am saying is this, stop looking at these media hyped/well sponsored individuals like they are 1 in a million and are gods! People with talent exist all over the world and they are not always visible to the public eye.
You can see the passion that you have for food ,but you’re learning new skills every single day, life is a learning experience. not so many people now days want fine dining, it’s mainly fast food joints like Mc Donald’s. A beautiful looking dish, but do you frame it or eat it?
this man is a rock star !!
👍 Love Gordon Ramsey! He's so passionate & caring! I want to learn how to cook like him!!
It’s Ramsay, not Ramsey. Why can no one spell his fucking name?
Man FY
Gordon’s father was an alcoholic and his brother is a heroin addict. He saw what he could’ve become but decided to go the other way.
Thank you Gordon!!
hes so inspiring, I love the passion he has for food
I was legit like “no way he’s not gonna swear once in 5 minuets”
*4:55 “oh, there we go”
I love his passion. This man is the GOAT!
I’m dying to meet this man!! Seems like a great guy outside the kitchen

You can walk away from this video with this: Put your head down for a while, find your calling in life and work hard for it. Once upon a time Gordon Ramsay had his struggles with money and trying to survive in the world. As time passed, with perseverance and stellar work ethic, he grew into an incredibly wealthy and successful man. Yet he never stopped once he reached a point when he was financially stable. If you stop trying once you 'get there' then you will fall back. He never stopped. As a result, he is famous, owns like three properties I think, has a beautiful family and is incredibly inspiring. Life will throw things at you, but it's up to you to dust yourself off and get back up. It's just apart of life. It's amazing how so much work and dedication and passion can carry an individual across their finish line. Once you complete one goal, set another. And another. And another.
I totally love this guy. Respect - One of the worlds outstanding individuals. He’s also one of the funniest dudes ever- He should be in parliament with his quick jibes
I felt some food wars vibe when he talked about thinking recipes, travel and learning, his dream to discovering every ingredients like the whole video of him cooking and commenting his cooking while he talk about himself and whoa that's how he is fluent in French within 18 months incredible french is a very diffucult language to learn there are so many rules and exceptions, I'm french and this language is very hard to learn even for natives french
