- This is a 'tribute' paid by Shri Pu La Deshpande (the well known Marathi Humourist / Playwrite) to Pt Dinkar Kaikini ~ one of the gentle giants of Indian music, on the occasion of Dinkarji's 60th Birthday (Shashti Purti) celebrations in Mumbai in the year 1987. In this talk, Pu La has expressed such profound thoughts on Indian Raagdari Sangeet in amazingly simple and humourous way... which goes to show his depth of perception.
This 30 minute clip is a veritable treat for all Musicians and Music lovers.

This detailing of the Indian Classical Music is outstanding. There is no comparison to these thoughts. Every musician, learner and listener who enjoys the music must know this detailing. Kodical Saheb, I am one of the student of Dinkarji and associated with him in very late stage. However, enjoyed the association as a golden years of my life. I am son of Pt. Rajarambua Paradkar and I am proud that the real classical things of the music are known to me. As Deshpandeji confirms in his speech, I have the great Musical Sanskar and that gives me utmost satisfaction to hear the musicians like Dinkarji. Thanks.
Sorry to have missed seeing your comment all this time, Paradkarji. I have been fortunate to accompany (on Tabla) Panditji in innumerable concerts, in cluding his concert tours abroad. I have heard about you from Panditji.
