I’ve noticed this problem too with the wah. Really fucks me off. Is there a way to fix it? As I’m looking to sell my analog gear but may have to keep my wah.
The Helix Channel read my above comment. Only had it a week. Noticed the problem today and read up and it’s really simple to fix. Bypass assign is section you need
Nice one! I'm not a fan of reading manuals, and it's not an issue I usually have since I rarely use Wahs in my personal presets...very cool to know it's an easy fix! Rock on, Scott.
LMAO Quote of the week. "How about that?, is that fun? NO that's stupid" ... I literally LOL'd and nearly woke up everyone in the house. Good stuff lol.
Hi I’ve fixed the glitch. Manual bypass assign is section u need in manual. When an octave or pitch is engaged or the delay if u assigned expression pedal to it u need to un-assigned the block. So I went in and set my octave to none and now when I engage the wah the octave doesn’t come on anymore. Worked it out earlier. Selling all my gear and using helix with my jvm410h. And without too. Awesome bit of gear
Hi Scott - I have been trolling Wah - Wah pedal video with the Helix. I have not bought a Helix yet, but this is a show stopper for me so It was important to know how to use it. In the pedal world - that Morley wah would sit in front of all the pedals. I think there is another that simulates the learn function to turn the pedal off once the pedal is moved back. Similar to the Morley optical turns off when foot is removed. How hard would it be to do that for all patches? This way it will always have the optional Wah in front when it is stepped on. The push down seems like a drag to turn it on and off IMO.
Sorry, there's no way to do the Freq Out thing with the Helix, I've tried, and so have many others...most of us have gone to the Freq Out to get this done. Rock on, Scott.
Don R In a perfect world, yes, it would...but, I don’t use the editor for anything except to transfer files to my computer...the editor has screwed up my presets on a number of occasions, so, I won’t use it.
It would sometimes change effect parameters, and other time it would change the amp model settings...very frustrating! I have a long history of not trusting software editors, going back to 2011 with the TC G-System. Rock on, Scott.
Hey. Here's a way to solve a conflict with the wha: On the effect you experience a problem while using the wha Go to the parameters of the effect (say the delay as an example) through the editor of the helix, and under the bypass tab choose none. That'll stop the annoying delay on/off - which most likely assigned to the toe position option which you now need for the wha Same can be done through the unit itself by the usual procedure of controller assignment - though less easy Most important result is that you don't need to delete your delay! 😎
The implementation of the wah on the Helix is terrible. And it was the same on the POD HD500 before it. One of the happiest days I've had with my Line 6 gear was when I stopped trying to make their wahs work, and just bought myself a little Morley Maverick autoswitching wah. Best $100 I've ever spent.
That Controller Assign Min and Max Value was definitely big in helping the Wah pedal become usable. Thank you for the tip.
same....thanks a lot!
Awesome! Been looking to learn how to use the wah feature with this thing.
Thanks man it helped me a lot just going through all the process with you! Nice videos, my learning curve has been very fast!
@4:00 you have to save in snapshot mode. Its simple

justin barnett Honestly, if you love your wah, and have room for it, I would keep it...the Helix is a bit unpredictable when it comes to the wahs.

Hi Scott, Hope you're well mate, Is there a way to have a "Freqout" type effect with the Helix do you know?
Sorry, there's no way to do the Freq Out thing with the Helix, I've tried, and so have many others...most of us have gone to the Freq Out to get this done.

Thanks mate! Very helpful!
wouldn't it be easier to put the Helix on the floor and record the HXEdit on your computer?
Don R In a perfect world, yes, it would...but, I don’t use the editor for anything except to transfer files to my computer...the editor has screwed up my presets on a number of occasions, so, I won’t use it.
How has it screwed up your presets? Did patches get changed? Settings lost?

The Helix Channel sure thing
Hope you find it useful 😎 great channel! Learning a lot from you ✌️️
Thanks for the tip. I was having the same problem when I had a wah and volume block in the same patch.
This helped!
I wish they could fix the wah pedals in the Helix. They're un-usable as they are.
It did not work for me.
