Since 4 he’s back to his old self due to still having family (Nero)

I don't think I ever considered The DMC animated series to be good at all when it came to the story. Felt like a lot of wasted potential that we fans have been waiting to see. However, the main reason I stuck around was because of the smooth crispy animation, the badass music/opening, and of course the main reason, Daddy Dante. "Desperado" is a great movie, and I do believe they put some moves from it in the Gunslinger style. I liked the anime and the "demon of the week" pacing... the Abigail plot was a little disappointing, I expected more. @SolidSnake240 Personally, I have a theory as to why they did that. I have no proof, of course. If you are gonna add such a deep cut reference, at least have the character look like how he was originally shown.
This is the best thing an videogame fan can ask for. A side media that doesn’t contradictor change anything from the game, can be ignored, and keeps the character intact and cool. No reason to watch it, but its there and thats the best thing side media can be.
The only lacking bit of this anime is I expected more 3D style anime sceens like in DMC3/DMC4. But with how dynamic the new netflix anime looks it may be the one we've been dreaming about for years.
I enjoy that the anime gives us a look at what Dante's normal gig are like rather than the usual "a powerful demon is about to resurrect and we need your help, Dante"
Funny enough, the Anime was what got me into DMC. I also hated the English dub voice since I started with the thick, confident Japanese voice. My opinion only change when I got into DMC 3
I have to ask, since it's a bit contraditory to what's been stated in the series so far: Why do you think Mundus is dead when Dante merely re-sealed him in the demon world in DMC 1?
i played them for the first time now and yes they are amazing maybe except second one dmc 1 8/10 dmc 2 5.5/10 dmc3 9.5/10 dmc4 7/10 i might change to 7.5 for dmc4 because playing as vergil is super fun

I like to see the less wacky wahoo pizza man side of Dante and the human depresso side of him. I love seeing how Dante interacts with smaller gigs and less word ending kinds. I love knowing what his favourite song is. I genuinely do love that this anime takes a look into the human side, how Dante deals with other peoples love, not killing a demon because it has a heart and soul unlike the rest, he won’t kill humans. The starting theme is so hype, so Dante killing demons and badass, but the closing theme of Dante just sitting there with a beer all alone it’s slow, calm and sorta unlike what we are use to but I think adds to his character. I think the theme is of a woman singing, I think it’s Dante thinking of his mother, drinking away the sorrow and pain. The anime may not be a high action comedy thing, but it does explore Dante’s story and his emotions more. And that’s why I love it. Despite everything he’s been through despite losing everyone and being depressed, he will do as he must and take down demons. Save humanity, for a price ofc, he’s not a Spiderman type person who will go looking for a fight to help someone but I belive he’ll do the right thing if needed. Thank you DMC and thank you DMC anime for showing me the other side of Dante.
Do none of you literally remember that he literally one hit kills everything and has no real challenge and only uses his sword and ebony and ivory. In the audio drama, it's revealed that Dante has all his weapons at Enzo's pawn shop while he pays off his debts. In that same drama he saves Enzo and the debt is erased but he feels bad that his pawn shop gets destroyed, so he leaves them there.
@@AntonioRedgravehello and thanks for your reply and yes I get and got that. But what I'm saying is it doesn't work either way. I thought the anime was boring most likely because I was expecting some good action but barely any at all but the new Netflix one coming out actually seems FIRE looks how I would expect a dmc anime to look like
I liked the music the story, music, and art style/animation of the 2007 anime but the action is a bit lacking(he just sticks with Rebellion and E&I I don't even think he uses Coyote A/the shotgun). The newer Netflix series trailer seems to be ramping up the action(I say everything but the CGI motorcycle looked good). Also feels weird that Reuben isn't voicing Dante in the new show. Best of luck to Johnny.
I would say it was alright but Devil may cry shouldn’t 😂have a supernatural /Smallville approach meaning having episodic stuff then the last episodes the story kicks in. Now this Netflix show has the chance to have better action and hopefully a continuous story instead of an Episodic Cowboy bebop /supernatural thing going on. The op is still amazing the characters designs are great the dub has the precious Reuben but it was just decent . This new show seems to be a amalgamation of material kinda like they did wit Castlevania on Netflix so we got enemies from 3,4 , 1,2, reference to DMC 5 when u log into Netflix you see Dante with a cowboy hat etc . Hopefully Enzo is in this new show hopefully we get a look at Vergil and lady in the new show . Since we combining stuff might as well throw Trish in there I guess
I loved 2007 Anime, and I rather would have liked that Madhouse takes this over again. I don't believe that the Netflix adaptation, with Adi Shankar, can even get close to the dmc anime masterpiece.
HEAVY TLDR BIG FEELINGS⚠️ I really think anyone reading this should realize, as a fan, I'm after quality and fairly criticizing EVERYTHING. .. This anime has good things going but so much wasted potential. In short it always looked like the creators have no idea what to settle for in terms of pace, tone and consistency. The story could've been salvageable if it isn't so obvious the creators have not narrowed down the right vision for this anime. It's obvious the DMC anime is a mix of a slice of life and gothic-noir genre, with the Monster of the Day gimmick. But the approach to it was lifeless and boring. The action scenes are literally them transitioning to a cut-to-black scene, which means there is barely any fight scenes at all. And of course, this is just a nitpick, but the umm....Morrison's racial change....👀 I have a feeling that had something to do with either a color diversity "quota" OR, my personal theory, is that they made Morrison black because they have to match it with Phineas from DmC: Devil May Cry...he's black-coded and Phineas is Dante's informant in the reboot. But that's just my game theory. I have nothing against black characters. But Morrison's changes was unnecessary. The best parts are that we do get glimpses of Dante's everyday life...although I have to say there's barely anything about it. 99% of it is him lounging around and doing nothing. I wish we have introspective thoughts or flashbacks from Dante. Or we get to spend more personal times with him, where he goes to places that reminds him of what's important or anything. Anything at all! The other characters, particularly Patty, are truly the ones carrying the show. Which is a bummer. This anime is Devil May Cry, it's supposed to be about Dante, but instead he sometimes feels like deadweight😤 Oh well, at least him, Trish and Lady are hot.
Short answer: Hell no. Sadly, Toshiki Inoue was not the right person to be headwriter. But people love overusing him because he saved Super Sentai back in the day, and been writing numerous Kamen Rider projects and anime.
What are you talking about? Considering the anime's placement, I feel like the anime's story was actually good. Plus, it gave us some good moments like Lady and Trish meeting for the first time, Sparda's apprentices, Patty as a whole. There are things to appreciate in the anime.
@@viktorstanev2752 That was one moment, and those two got nothing after that. There's not much to that episodic nonsense, and that horrible attempt at a plot in the last 3 episodes was awful for real.
Commenting before watching the video, but I just got started with the franchise 5 months ago, played the games 3,1,2, watched all the DMC4 cutscenes, and 5 Anime was a fun watch, but the animation was super janky, fights had no choreography and the ends of the episodes always felt rushed, like all the budget was gone about 17 minutes in. And the main demon's name is Abigail smh. That's more than likely a translation issue of some sort, because aint NO WAY the writers thought that was a good name lol (also prefer black Morrison to white. Only time blackwashing is justified ever lol)
I just finished the show over a week ago, they just made Dante so weak and depressed and he didn’t even fight that much (best episode has to be the one where he goes to prison)
Nah, it was not Dante that was weak. He just wasn't even trying to fight seriously in the anime. Considering the anime takes place between 1(which was the most personal game for Dante) and 2, it actually makes a lot of sense for him to be depressed. He just (thought that he)killed his brother and fought against the killer of his mother.
@@Vorrtexian He wasn't weak he was just not trying since no one gave him a good challenge, he is depressed for sure tho but who wouldn't be in his place honestly

I really like this anime but the lack of fights was kinda off putting. I love the lore and characters but I also come to Dmc for the crazy fights.
I loved 2007 Anime, and I rather would have liked that Madhouse takes this over again. I don't believe that the Netflix adaptation, with Adi Shankar, can even get close to the dmc anime masterpiece.

HEAVY TLDR BIG FEELINGS⚠️
I really think anyone reading this should realize, as a fan, I'm after quality and fairly criticizing EVERYTHING.
And of course, this is just a nitpick, but the umm....Morrison's racial change....👀
I have a feeling that had something to do with either a color diversity "quota" OR, my personal theory, is that they made Morrison black because they have to match it with Phineas from DmC: Devil May Cry...he's black-coded and Phineas is Dante's informant in the reboot.
This anime is Devil May Cry, it's supposed to be about Dante, but instead he sometimes feels like deadweight😤
Oh well, at least him, Trish and Lady are hot.

Keep going Schizo King 🔥
@@viktorstanev2752 I like slow burn stories like Blade runner 2049 and Logan, but the anime was just boring.

It's a good Anime, but it does have it's draw backs. Episode 4 is my favorite episode.
anime
Commenting before watching the video, but I just got started with the franchise 5 months ago, played the games 3,1,2, watched all the DMC4 cutscenes, and 5
Anime was a fun watch, but the animation was super janky, fights had no choreography and the ends of the episodes always felt rushed, like all the budget was gone about 17 minutes in.
And the main demon's name is Abigail smh. That's more than likely a translation issue of some sort, because aint NO WAY the writers thought that was a good name lol
(also prefer black Morrison to white. Only time blackwashing is justified ever lol)

lady
Okay but real question. Why do you look like a lost brother of Brandon Routh?
@@reawakeneddemon6478 Dante was trying less than he was in DMC4 pretty much
@@Vorrtexian Yes and for the few times he did the ennemies got decimated in like 2 seconds (litteraly).

did I just glimpse you placed DMC1 on C tier?
You are not worthy of that name, sir. Remove it at once!
LOL no DMC1 was on B. Devil May Cry Deadshot was on C
