    Thank you for sharing this. Back in the early seventies when I was in middle school, we used to rent a small boat for fishing and snorkeling. We would go by Monkey Island which was strictly posted as no trespassing. The island was covered with trees at that time but the monkeys would come to the dock thinking that we were bringing them food. We followed all of the rules and just enjoyed seeing the monkeys from a distance. Thank you for sharing your drone video !!

      The entire video was shot on 1 battery! I was so afraid that it wasn't going to make it back across the water.

    How did you get the permit to be this close to the (arcgis) government island?

      Drive to Punta Santiago, Humacao. I highly recommend a kayaking tour! More details at jentheredonethat.com/kayaking-monkey-island-puerto-rico/

    That is not island of Mona that's an island on the east side. Best wishes.

    • @JenThereDoneThat
      @JenThereDoneThat  Год назад +1

      Correct. Mona Island is off the west coast of Puerto Rico. Cayo Santiago known as "Monkey Island" is off the east coast near Punta Santiago in Humacao, Puerto Rico. Cayo Santiago has an active Rhesus monkey colony and facilities devoted to research.

    What happened to the hundreds of 🐒 monkeys..I also see way too.many structures on a supposed isolated island..why dont they build a Condo next ...

  • @DennisAllums

    ah, where the monkeys?

    • @JenThereDoneThat
      @JenThereDoneThat  2 года назад +2

      Look closely, the monkeys are the size of house cats. It is easier to look for the movement of brown fur against the light sand.
