Yep. Here's a fact, In DMC1 there's a Legendary Dark Knight/Sparda costume. With this costume you unlock Devil Trigger from the start and get Yamato as a weapon. It has the same moves as Alastor (so you can use Stinger) but the Devil Trigger runs out quicker due to bigger range on your attacks.
To be fair, these are based on DMC3 Vergil and Dante, so I'm not sure Vergl can do more than normal JC at this point? I'm not even sure he even gets a DT based on the time period used.

That's fair. Like how in PXZ1, Frank West didn't get Combo Weapons, despite games like UMVC3 and MVCI have him using them, in his DR1 outfit.
