I agree, you SirPurgger would be a great bot buster in the actual areas and way we would like to see. The way they do it, is kind of boring and we as the viewer have no idea what’s really going on. I’d like to see your approach if you ever get the privileged.

I want them to remove free trade at this point and bring back old bher or the pvp worlds with EV system or EP whatever it was, it brings noobs into pking because all they need is 25k risk, and they alch to gain time in unsafe areas to gain EP and then fight their target when they get one, it was such a great system and created a diverse pk environment where you could get rewarded for killing noobs with trash gear because each kill was like a gamble, you didn't know what statues/pvp armor you may get so, it kept people pking. Im in the mood to play that game style sooo bad

Maybe the potato seeds are because bots have some kind of "diversity of action" script so they sometimes go farm just so they seem more like a normal account?

Nah it’s because when you RWT or mule you don’t want to just trade cash. So some farms might use a body rune, some might use potato seeds, just a cheap item you can throw a few dozen into a trade.
When i bought some gold couple years back they traded random item like potato seeds.
Potato seeds can be used for birdhouses which would make sense from a diversity action while still being massively profitable.
It's because potato seeds are impossible to instadump on the GE, so when they're cleaning bank they can get left behind
That merching bot is literally a trading algorithm. A lot of trading companies does this on stock markets n' stuff. That's freaking insane.

There is a bank inside the Ent cave which is inside the Woodcutting guild, very out of the way and not exactly a place a lot of players would visit. The few times I've gone there for opening clue caskets I spotted a white dot log out before getting to the bank itself.

It's more like a gang sign or a passcode to show they're "legit."

@@Axoe I have had 2 accounts stolen, during a break, and recovered. Both were clearly used for botting when I looked at the bank. Stolen accounts are 100% used for botting my friend, maybe not as commonly idk, but it happens. Why wouldn't they use stolen accounts? They're accounts that usually have the mid-high range stats a lot of botters want for whatever they're botting.

Add a feature like league of legends where it shows you when the player you reported got banned. Will incetivize reporting.

@@yannaedc5934not sure about pc, but Mobile you’ll get a message saying thank you, action has been taken against the player you reported. It doesn’t say who, but typically, you’re going to know unless you’re reporting tons of people
Xbox Live does too, or at least used to. I once reported an extremely blatant, obvious cheater and got a message from Xbox the next day saying “action was taken”. Thought it was cool to at least have them acknowledge your report.
I had to hop 10+ worlds just to find a spot to do my fossil island wyvern task today where there were ONLY 2 bots jn the world. Most worlds had 3-4 with the exact same gear and near identical non combat stats. A mix of Obby and dragon with a regular whip, str ammy and dfs. Insane
It’s so annoying competing with bots just to play the game, especially as an iron where you can’t just buy whatever item you might be looking for if it’s a combat based activity… and even more so when you consider that we’re paying a recurring subscription fee to play the game.
Go to the slayer only cave and they're pretty much always open

9:45 if I recall correctly, in OSRS the GE tax is actually used to buy back end-game items and then destroy the item to keep the price of said item high. Thus, the gp actually returns to the hands of players and thus is NOT a gold sink unlike the RS3 GE tax.
so they are artificially inflating osrs gold by destroying the supply of items, rather than the demand (gold), in reality the buying power of OSRS gold should be much more than what it is, which means its just a gold sink with extra steps.

on the flipping bot, IRL there are actually programs that do something similar, conducting micro trades on stocks. So kinda interesting to see that be illegal in a game, but not real life

because we use the mechanics of our own world to "bot" stocks, similar to how minecraft "bot"/automatic farms using mechanics of the game, on the contrary in runescape there is no mechanism that allows you to automate these actions which is why it is illegal...

Yes and no. Because it’s hooked up to the wiki it could potentially know when an item is out of its regular range. A few of the buys it saw the price change before it got filled and cancelled its buy immediately.

@@PushingDownDaisys Bingo, it would be possible but you'd have to have very deep pockets to manipulate both bid and ask in order to make the bot think it's profitable to trade, and when I release v3 that'll be even harder. Not quite as simple as that commenter seems to think.

Those plankmake bots just once again prove that Jagex has 0 actual automated bot banning abilities. The automated system only kicks in once a real player reports the bot. If the bot evades being reported by instalogging/teleing or by simply being where other players never go - they never get banned.
Letting Sirpugger into this world would be so awesome!
If you go to the furthest CORNER South East, Dragontooth Island. You'll find a very active bot farm.
They drop GP and another account logs in the same spot and takes it and logs out

Dont know how long its been since youve checked out lava dragon bots but its pretty interesting. Seems like theres 3 different bot programs, one of them is just a trident that risks nothing and runs away even if you combat tag them and another is a pharomins sceptre mystic robe top that will also run away, but then theres a bot with nothing but a sceptre and they dont fight back other than auto-retaliate. The latter of the bots drop 300k of rev ether every death
Not sure if this has been covered in a video yet, but I see COUNTLESS bots constantly at Castle Wars bank nowadays.
A lot of them are like level 90 in GoTR outfit. Tele in, bank, Tele out.
I’ve also seen WAVES of bots in what looks like Corp gear. Same deal, all in the same gear (karils, zammy spear, dwarf helm)
Jagex should give Sirpugger these bot busting powers
I seen like 3 bots thieving the master farmer in Ardy a year ago. All of them had over 80m total experience in thieving. Not sure what happened to them but wish Jagex was around for them lol. All three of them would walk far up north and then come back to the master farmer location and logout when I trapped the master farmer from his normal location.
What's interesting about the trading bots at the GE, they basically act as market makers. liquidity as you said, which is wild.
I love your videos! I think it might be worth checking out the level 3 bots catching grey chins on Isle of Souls now that hunter rumours are a big part of the game. These bots have anywhere between 40-60 million Hunter experience. You can break the bot by placing your trap below theirs when they go to reset their traps effectively allowing you to slowly steal their full inventory of traps.
Something people may not know is there’s a bank at the grand exchange.. in the clan hall! I wonder if there are any particular bot farms in the same clan and they use the clan hall as a safe haven?
The flipping bot is amazing. I would honestly run it to just destroy gp. This can be used to combat bots that generate gp and inflate the market.
If destroying gp is your goal, you could probably write a bot script aimed specifically at that, rather than at profiting.

I ran into some smithing bots at the anvil south of GE. One was broken and kept attempting to open the door to the basement in the bank. He had top 13k rank in smithing.

Hey Man! First off, i've been watching your videos for FOREVER. Love the content and watching your channel grow. What is it that Jagex has such a hard time fighting bots in Runescape? I've since then switched over to other MMO games and the issues never bad. I feel like OSRS has always had an issue.
That Tarns lair plank make farm is so weird, there are so many other banks that barely see any traffic. Also the Clan hall banks literally is a sorta private instance, they could be using that and nobody would ever know.
the flipping bot is really interesting to me. what if instead of a bot it was a plugin that just recommended items and prices in the same way, but would still require a human to put those offers into the GE, what would the stance on that be?

If they hire him officially he'll have to sign a whole bunch of non-disclosure agreements any no longer will be able to make this kind of content. That's why it's almost better this way for us to make a plea to Jagex to non-officially kill Bots that are already banned and make content out of it.

Ontop of those 2 comments, he has 0 skills in anti-cheat programming. He is a guy who makes videos and talks to botters. He can't help in any meaingful way by working at Jagex. He is more useful working outside Jagex and trying to get inside botting communities and expose them to Jagex.
Also he would probably make more money here as every video is sponsored, and Jagex pays their employees in food coupons.

Some super out of the way banks I can think of would maybe be Sophanem dungeon, Jatizso, Burgh de Rott, Dorgesh Kaan, Keldagrim, Ourania Altar, Piscatoris Fishing Colony, Corsair Cove. Those are the places I would probably go if I was banking and trying not to be spotted by other players, though I will admit, Tarn's Lair is actually way smarter than every place that I listed.

There's a bot in almost every world at the chaos druids in tavelry. All of them wear full addy and rune boots with a Sara sword.
From watching CanifisChunk's series where he is locked in the Rev Caves, so many bots are at quads that he found a way to make them auto hop by having an account there with a dragon dagger. Maybe have the mods take a look at that spot

Yes definitely hire more staff to do this. Can start BotHub, and stream 24/7. Players could pay for private stream of bot extermination from a location of their choosing for the duration. I'd start playing again for that.

full mithril lvl 15ish bots with chronicles picking up red spiders' eggs in varrock sewers near moss giants
They should add a bot pet where every time you successfully report a bot which ends up getting banned, you roll a very rare chance for a pet. It would be the default character at character creation but smaller. Bot hunting would be actually fun
the really high cash stack accounts that are ban are often not going to be bots from a farm that didn't mule over the money for a long period of time. but rather just people who are botting a single account for themselves for whatever reason.
The flipping bot is fascinating I think. I will probably be making bots like that for IRL trading at some point in the future, and this would be good insight for stock trading strategies. Also, why the HELL hasn't Jagex hired SirPugger at this point? He'd be a perfect fit on the anti-cheating team...
4:56 I assume it has something to do with Master Farmer bots, leveling their farming level with cheap stuff until 34 so they can go to Tithe Farm and increase it even more efficient, until they are ready.
Potato Seeds are the cheapest ones, maybe they also use them for Birdhouse runs at the same time.

I support Jagex dedicating SirPugger as the offical bot buster for OSRS.
I actually think jagex should motivate us all to report bots more by doing it so every year they show us how much gp our individual reports have removed from the economy and if we hit over certain thresholds then we get rewarded with things like more bank space because i think there is plenty of bots who dont get reported simply because there are so many that everyone would be there all day reporting them. Imagine how many people would stand at ge reporting phishing bots and how many people would go green drags reporting bots there specifically to get more bank space as a reward for it
1: Bring back the Pillory random event. Bots would go into the cages and we let us throw tomato’s at them (if we want). If they can’t solve that puzzle than they get banned.
2. If they can’t solve the lock the person who pick pockets their lock for them gets TP with them to try and kill them somewhere pvp. (One bot per person a week/Month) the bot would be naked so no one would know what they have.
3. They are in pillory random event. After X amount of players are in that world they get killed and all of their items get put into Falador DP

Blue dragon bot farm at the ogre enclave. Sometimes 2-3 bots per world and loot all my blue dhide Ive been leaving on the ground
