Finally someone talking about her race lol. Delilah is literally modeled after Iyana Lashea here on RUclips and when I immediately saw her face sculpt I knew she was a black albino girlie by her wide nose and lips. Then when I saw the baby hair I felt vindicated. (I'm not saying white girls can't have baby hairs but we all know black and brown girls wearing them way before they wear poppin) Being a black albino is hard enough because they are persecuted in certain countries. I think this doll was needed because they are often hunted because they are believed to have magical healing powers or if they are in America they are considered "not black" which is utterly ridiculous and representation is so important.
Poppy x Delilah is literally perfect! Should call it butterfly x flower or something- I'm also not only happy she has albinism, but so happy she has glasses! As someone with glasses I felt super left out (I mean not like I am a Rainbow High character or smth) and was literally praying for one! Idk if she's my favorite but def in my top 3!
I am partial to “spooky” dolls, I love the shadow high/monster high. After watching this, I went out and got Delilah. She’s my only Rainbow High and she is my little precious sunshine angel like she is so sweet. The honey bee earrings? Get outta town. I can’t. 🥺🥺🥺
I love shadow high and darker style dolls and Delilah is the total opposite of that. But she is so effing adorable. The only rainbow high dolls I have are Delilah and Emi Vanda. I want Minnie as well because her face is too cute. And Costume Ball Robin Sterling.
The reason why the box outline is blue is because the girly (coco) beside the outline box is the same colour as the doll so if it was lila it would be purple
I agree. The best doll. Does not matter if Rainbow High. She is one of the best dolls. 🐝 earring?? Omg. 💖 she is the only one I want. I wonder who the artist is who designed her. I have Pullip collection and she is high up there. I will get a few. I hope I find her. I think the Shadow High is the best and this girl. We are spoiled now.
❤❤❤ Hello! At first as a doll collector, I wasn't into rainbow high dolls. They seemed the same doll to me with different colours BUT when series 4 appeared to my country BOOM I fell in love instantly with all of them!!! What can I say;! Colours, face molds, different skin tones?! I was over the moon at least diversity🎉❤ I
She is so incredibly pretty, I fell in love with her right away 💓 at the first glance.. I think I will be getting her for my birthday 🎂 She's gonna be my first Rainbow High. Thank you so much for the rewiew❤
I so want to bring over a big bottle booze and sit on the floor with you guys and mean girl gossip about which recent fashion dolls whose looks are like... most clearly ripped off from which Queens from Drag Race and weather they can even pull it off or not. Like how Coco Vanderbalt is just pretty much Shea Couleé.
She's very pretty doll I feel like everyone should get her for series 4 if you can cuz you know rainbow dolls are pretty expensive but I don't know I'm like I'm feeling the lesbian vibes with her is it just me or do I feel like she will I have a girlfriend or something cuz that would be so cute. 💅✨💜💙💚💛🧡❤️✨💅. 🏳️🌈 GAY🏳️🌈
Now hold up. What makes her an albino black girl? Because she had the baby hair and a full nose? Lots of ethnicities have baby hair and or a full nose. She’s albino, so…her ethnicity is hard to code. I say, let all who are albino identify with the doll. I mean honestly, how many albino dolls are there? Let them have what is rightfully there’s and don’t try to stop any ethnicity from the albino community from identifying with the doll. Mic drop sis 🎤
Sure, but styled edges have significant importance within the black community and the RH designers have clearly only given them to the black and/or coded mixed girls. No one is stopping anyone from identifying with her. It seems people are trying very aggressively to not see Delilah as black, and that’s the strangest takeaway. Keep the mic, sis.
There's a higher probability because OCA 2 is the most common type of albinism and is especially frequent among African Americans and Africans. The estimated frequency in African Americans is 1 per 10,000 population and the overall frequency is 1 case per 15,000 population across any other race. I hope you understand that just because someone is albino doesn't mean they still can't identify with the race they're born with, it's a lack of pigmentation not ethnicity.
@@lynne99 At this point, I’m over it. This just proves my point even more. That the doll community is still not ready to see that some dolls need to have racial ambiguity, because it allows for more people to identify with said doll. Racial ambiguous dolls are just as important as clearly identifiable dolls. The day will come when my point is understood. Seems to me that I’m still ahead of my time 🤷🏽♂️.
@@pepercat17 I understand what you mean but albinism is a genetic condition and a lot of times people with albinism feel misplaced within their own race/ethnicity. Due to ignorance people with the condition have to fight to prove their ethnicity more than anybody else so that's why I think it's important that she is represented properly and not left to ambiguity.
You know what. Now I think about it, I hope you don’t claim that Jewel Richie is an African American person with Vitiligo either. Because Vitiligo does not just affect African Americans, it also affects brown skin individuals of other ethnicities as well, like Latinos and Asian individuals. Though Jewel codes as African American to me, I believe her ethnicity should be left to interpretation for those who have Vitiligo. That way they can identify with the doll regardless of their personal ethnicity. I think your privilege is showing. Yes minorities are often under represented in dolls. But albino and vitiligo individuals are even more under represented, and they should have the right to identify with a doll who reminds them of them, without someone saying what ethnicity the doll is- thereby taking their representation from them.
Jewel is quite literally Puerto Rican. It’s in her bio. Puerto Rico is incredibly diverse and she can be interpreted in many ways. So a white person with vitiligo can claim her as white? Simply because they have vitiligo? Insanity. Individuals with vitiligo can definitely see themselves in her, but to claim that only those individuals can interpret her ethnicity is crazy. You seem to have some sort of comprehension issue or just obtusely want to push your narrative, because I never once said who can and can’t identify with a doll or character and I will not let you push that idea in my comments.
@@angellozamh does her profile say that? she’s still new, and I hasn’t seen her profile yet. But when I did say a non brown skin individual would identify with Jewel? I said other brown skin individuals, so your argument of a white person is a straw man argument. How can you say I said something when I literally didn’t. It’s your comments so you can control who says, but that doesn’t mean your right sis. 🤷🏽♂️.
@@pepercat17 You said for those who have vitiligo, you did not specify which ones. Her profile is literally on the Rainbow High website. Not my fault you haven’t read or seen it. You only mentioned that other brown individuals could have vitiligo, as if I wouldn’t know that.
@@angellozamh right, but that doesn’t imply Caucasian. Odd that you would go to Caucasian when the entire post was about allowing other brown skinned individuals to identify with Jewel. And I’m not ashamed because I didn’t know Jewel’s bio before speaking. My point still holds up. I thought she was African American and wanted other brown skinned individuals to be able to identify with her. Her profile says she’s from Puerto Rico, making her Puerto Rican. (My ethnicity). Which is cool because I thought she looked African American but she’s actually Latino. 🤷🏽♂️ My point was proven. Dolls can code differently to the beholder and that sometimes it’s better to allow that individual inference. Unless RH specify the dolls background themselves.
@@pepercat17 listen if you have vitiligo, albinism, one arm, def, alopecia whatever then you can identify with the doll no matter what race the doll is made. The whole point is the condition not the race lady. MGA chose to make these particular dolls, dolls of color. It is what it is who cares! Just like they make ones that are clearly white and black. Chill.
