Loved their packs when I was a wildland firefighter from 2012 to 2014 and I've loved using their bags since Ive been in the Army. Big Army won't issue them but individual units frequently use their budgets to purchase and issue them. Spectacular company and product!
Very interesting, I didn’t know Mystery Ranch was headquartered in Bozeman or made packs for the military and firefighters. I was in the US Navy from ‘69 to ‘72 so as you can imagine I am “gifted with age” but I go day hiking every day now that I am retired. I have two Mystery Ranch packs, the Rip Ruck 15 and the Coulee 25 both of which I am Very happy with. I use the Rip Ruck for shorter hikes of 5-6 miles and once a week I do longer hikes of 12-15 miles so I use the Coulee for that. My Coulee was made in Vietnam which is a country I was in when I was in the Navy and it is nice to see they have rebounded economically especially after what we inflicted on them. Anyway nice to see the Mystery Ranch operation in Bozeman and the men and women who work there, thanks for the vid.
Just got my Terraframe 65l and a Blitz 35l yesterday! You folks do a great job, and though not cheap, I am glad my money went to a product and research that helps us all, especially our men and women in service
I just purchased the 55 Bridger after watching you and Dan talk about them on one of your backpacking match ups.. Now seeing this video, I am greatly pleased to support a company such as Mystery Ranch. Keep up the great work Eric, Happy Holidays to you and family!
Great packs, great people. Tim is the man!! Got to spend a week backcountry skiing with him and the Mystery Ranch Crew a few years ago, testing gear and making turns.
@@BackpackingTV Come up to BC anytime Erik, I'd be happy to show you around some of the secret places in winter or even summer! We could do a collab video?!
Stoked I came across your channel today, been saving for the Terraframe 65 - Deep Sea you’ve referenced in a few of your videos for the better part of year but life tends to keep pushing it back. Awesome to see the inner workings of Mystery Ranch.
Just bought their new bridger 55L cant wait to test it out! Been a mystery ranch fan for years now! Have owned many! Loved their original bridger (phillipine model) not satL version. Also ran their old bighorn pack for a while. Would love to see them bring the bighorn back new and improved! Their futura harness is amazing! Their nice frame is good too but overkill for what i do. Also like to see a 40 or 50L Rip ruck! I ran the camelbak trizip for years too which was a mystery ranch collab. So many good packs! Like to see a roll top pack of sorts too maybe dyneema fabric?! Thanks guys! Great work always! Hike on!
Just picked up the Bridger 65 on your recommendation (as well as several military buddies of mine raving about mystery ranch) and I can't wait to use it on the trail!
I absolutely love my mystery ranch 19 in and out and I’m definitely looking planning on another mystery ranch pack. Thank you army days of making me a total back pack nut lol
@@BackpackingTV no, the shoulder strap wore through while hiking the pct. The material used on that piece creates a weak spot. This is on the Terraframe 50.
Loved the inside look, ive been researching for months on what pack to get for a day hike and one for multi day hikes....still torn but I am leaning towards mystery ranch, any recommendations?
Hey Jerry! I hear ya. I swing through on a Friday and most of the people who sew we're already off for the weekend. That was something I wanted to see too!
Hi Brother. I am in Europe and backpacks are so expensive and it’s stopping me and others from exploring the outdoors. You would have a spare 65l I can do a review on and use 😂
Would you recommend the glacier or the terraframe? I have a 40 liter REI trail series for 2-3 day trips but I'm looking at a mystery ranch product for my longer trips
Hey! Both are great packs but I think I like the Terraframe more. It's more versatile. Glacier has a more traditional design with some people might prefer. Either way can't go wrong!
We have more Mystery Ranch products in the house than I can count, great products and the tour was good. I am not sure what more they could have shown for others to not be disappointed. They make solid fucking gear buy it or not but why look for them to blow smoke?!
Other than military or fire fighter, yeah I know where most of Mystery Ranch packs are made and that is Vietnam. Behind the scene? Not so much. Hence, the reason the production floor is so empty because these bags are made mostly from another country.
The guy that designed mystery ranch bridger what is hitting on your girl bro lol it was about obvious. On a lighter note I have just purchased a mystery ranch bridger 65 and freaking love it
Noticed Tim Gates said the warehouse was open to military or firefighters, but he didn’t say police. Just wondering what the Mystery Ranch’s company stand is on police that they were excluded from the other service professionals access to the warehouse. Can you clarify?
Hey Dan! Absolutely. It's my understanding that Mystery Ranch has contracts with the military for backpacks specialized to their needs, and the same goes for firefighters, especially wildland firefighters. Each group has a need for extremely robust backpacks they carry specialized equipment. They're not discriminating against police, it's just that police don't typically need specialized backpacks in the same way.

Sounds like they've served you well! Glad to hear it.

Sweet, love Mystery Ranch packs. So cool to see this! Also, new way to hold a soda can. 😂
Haha always good to learn new techniques!
@@BackpackingTV Seriously, thanks for the great video of Mystery Ranch HQ
Got my terraframe 65 recently. Was a pain to find up here in canada but lovin it so far

Very cool and interesting video! Thanks for sharing.
I totally need a new Pack Back! 😆
Nice tour, man!
Thank you!
Great video. Impressive organization. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks so much Mark! Just wish I could've included some of the secret stuff!
Love my mystery ranch bag. This reminds me I also need to do a warranty claim.
Haha bear eat your backpack?

Yeah finally found a top notch company that makes products 100% made in USA.
Great Products
Very much of interest 😄 Hi from The Perfect Pack fb group

Woohoo! Greetings to you guys!

Day hike, Coulee 25 or Coulee 40 for overnight.
Multiple-Days Terraframe packs are solid, trade off is weight.
Glacier 65 is lightweight
Hey David! Looks like Rei Matsuo got you covered! Those are great options and I'm a fan of everything mentioned here.

Good video, but it was a little lacking on content. Would have been nice to see them sewing some packs and stuff.

Tried to check them out in July, sadly was closed to the public due to covid.
Dang. That's a bummer.

Agree. The part D3 stops by to give an interview is a plus.
Here here! Thank you!
Funny that new employees get a free backpack when they start, and someone thought a hip pack would be a good one to get.

My MR Marshall is made in Vietnam
Cool. To bad they dont make everything in the us.
True, but then people would REALLY complain about the prices.
dude seriously turn off the gangster rap while giving tours
