Your observation is correct per my understanding.
If Rg Veda is poetic then shouldn’t this be the aadikavyam ? Why is srimadramayanam called aadikavyam ?
Because Veda doesn’t have all the qualities that are required to be a Kaavyam; It is Apaurushéyam, not authored by a living soul.
