The ready rice, and a tuna pouches are a favorite of mine on my alcohol stove. Also ramen cups, and the Idaho instant potatoes are simple as well. Just add hot water...and hot sauce! Every journey begins with the first step!!
Very good video Tony. Learning how to use that gear is really good and we'll pay you a great deal of dividends down the road. I did a review on this canteen set my channel a while back. And I use it pretty regularly. To fix the handle coming loose you got to bend the tabs out to wear when you engage it it's nice and tight. To keep from setting a picnic table or the forest on fire when using an alcohol stove, carry with you a small piece of thermal felt. I cut 8in discs out of a thermal felt blanket that I bought off Amazon. It works amazingly well and the only time that I see any kind of scorching on wood using it is if I'm doing an extended cook. For what you're doing the thermal felt would work very well. Plus the thermal felt can be folded up into very small package and put with your kit. Also if you pack more than one thermal felt disc you can use one as a make shift oven mit. Or double up the two under your stove for an extended cook. I hope these tips help you out. I have subbed to your channel and hope to see more adventures. Happy trail's brother.
Good job Tony V! You are leaps and bounds ahead of a lot of people! Dirt time is what you need, get comfortable with your gear. Luckily I live in a place where I can get out and have fun in the wilderness that’s all around me. Way to go! Keep it up!
"I'm glad I'm not going to the hospital yet." Hysterical, I have to sub to this guy! Really fun video Bro. Thanks and Merry Christmas! I'm gonna go watch some more of your stuff.
Having used the Trangia with this Pathfinder cook set I know the inside of the cook chamber gets hella hot. To keep the table from turning to charcoal you could carry around a small piece of cement board. I do the cement board on bottom with a layer of dirt or sand then the Trangia burner. The cement board is big enough to hold the cooker stand so none of the table is exposed to the heat. The piece I carry also fits in the cook set pouch. I guess in a pinch you could at least put dirt or sand on the table to give some insulation to the wood. I like the tuna creations with chicken and the rice packets too. Easy single tasty meals and small to carry around. I keep several in my go bag. Thanks for the video.
Hope you have a nice meal. I came across these sets in the british military. Usa sets were better than our type, being metal. Ours were plastic, so we usex to swap them for bears of something. Tragia burners ade good used by swedish army, i have one cant xook for ours on them 45mi ns i guess. My canteed is a swexish copy of usa cantenn, has cup, bbottle but no stand or lid. But works very well. Very simular to ww2 type. It also has a belt bag, thats not so good if canteen is full.
That's exactly how I do it (minus the lighting on fire of the picnic table) Those Ready Rice meals and tuna or chicken packs work well together and it is a super easy meal to make.
You go the most important point, going out there, having a nice meal and a good time in the nature!
That’s what it’s all about!!

Hey Merry Christmas to you too!!
Adding character to the picnic table ...
I would suggest "Old Bay Hot Sauce" for this recipe.
On about not burning the surface use a bit of folded up foil
Thank you Johnny!
Lol. If anything ever needed a disclaimer, it’s this! 😂😂😂
I'm just another "Bozo on the bus," Matt. Hope you enjoyed it.
