It’s infuriating to see how these attention seeking kind of misinformation earns more trust from people not only on the internet but the general public. The truth sometimes get buried butt deep into Marianas trench of the web and ignored for long time. Though it’s also relieving that people like Mutahar or others works to their hardest on making people aware on these types of trending topics (even if there’s a few times when Muta had to make apology videos for misinformation).
You should see some of the FB mommy groups out there, half the members think real life is a Liam Neeson movie because you always see people sharing "close calls" with child traffickers at the local Walmart or Target but they're almost always something like "I saw a guy in the same aisle as me three times" or "a lady came up to me by herself and complimented my baby but then I saw her standing with a man outside the store" (the implication being that the guy must be a trafficker/kidnapper and he sends in a female accomplice to scope out potential victims in order to put them at ease". There was one where the mother claimed she saw a document open on a stranger's phone with a description of a child and her son fit the description, which meant she was looking at a kidnapped-to-order form from one of the "trafficker's" customers and her son was totally about to be snatched. (Although if you admit to spying on the phone screens of strangers closely enough to where you can read what's on it, who is supposed to be the stalker in that situation)

Yeah, according to my local news five middle schoolers were arrested for making "terrorist threats" against the school they went to when that was going around tiktok. Daily use of TikTok and Twitter is like drinking and smoking pot simultaneously, it's good from time to time but nothing good comes from the addiction.
It's baffling how many people would rather record this shit than researching it first. I swear if if hasn't happened already, there will be someone who instead of calling an ambulance, will Livestream themselves dying for clout.
It's like twitter or facebook for younger generation in the sense that right when something happens the first thing they do is film it vertically or tweet about it (or in this case make a tiktok) before even thinking about wtf is happening. If they have a serious car crash and their own car gets totalled, when they wake up completely crushed inside the car they will use their last 10 seconds of life to make a tiktok about it instead of calling emergency services. Ofc I'm exaggerating... or am I?
When I was in AmeriCorps we literally had an information seminar about human trafficking, how it happens, how prevalent it happens (it's a disgusting billion dollar industry, but the qults aren't upset about that for some reason), where it happens, and the signs to look out for of someone being trafficked. It's disgusting that people want to believe information that makes them feel good over information that's factual and possibly hard to stomach.
Why are thieves using a tracker that alerts the person they're following? Simple They don't. This is just a bunch of clout chasing kids who don't have much imagination.
You're dumb if you think that. Millions of people are probably trafficked a year and I'm willing to bet that some popular people are involved in it too.
I'd say that even before social media became big, generations and their values were getting more diluted. I feel that we as a society need to start parenting kids again.
I mean that is something that will always happen. When you pass something on to someone it will always get diluted/altered. Problem now is that with tiktok/social media. Kids are practically raising themselves. So instead of having something like "one should only have sex after marriage" change into "one should only sleep with someone they truly trust and care for regardless of marital status, as long as both parties consent and are of appropriate age" now we are dealing with extremes, no moderation at all. You fuck? You better fuck all the way. You eat? Mfr u better eat till u can't walk no more,... Imho normally when a generation would have these thoughts their parents would come in and be like no this is wrong you should do it like that. And then they would find a middle ground and compromise. Hence values dilute.
@@tounsiforlife2317 "Kids are practically raising themselves" i saw a video yesterday about the lack of oversight in roblox, where a 16 year old recalled how she was messaged what she called ERP by a pedophile when she was 12. I thought i grew up on the internet but these kids literally have not only spent significant time online, but the ones who have been victims of what we consider the pits of hel are growing up in a culture that does not place a significance on getting offline for a while, looking at life, realizing what happened. I thought it was crazy.
Reminds me of an older post, think it was 4chan. Someone was convinced they were being followed, seeing the same vehicles following them around and cars started parking down their road pretty soon after, so naturally they got suspicious and searched their vehicle. Somewhere underneath it they found this black tube looking thing, it looked like official stuff. They brought it in to an expert and was told it was a serious government-used tracker, needless to say in a couple days men in suits knocked on their door and demanded its return because that stuff is expensive. Turned out they were being investigated in relations to a drug trafficking ring, of course the case never went anywhere but at least it made for a neat story

There was one where the mother claimed she saw a document open on a stranger's phone with a description of a child and her son fit the description, which meant she was looking at a kidnapped-to-order form from one of the "trafficker's" customers and her son was totally about to be snatched. So... if they put it on a car and the car drives out into the middle of nowhere there would need to have another person come by for the nefarious party to even see the location. It's NOT a GPS locator.
Not to mention said iPhone has to be within ~30 feet of it for the bluetooth connection to work ( i don't use em but i'm gathering that they use BT to connect to the phones and then use the phone as a longer range announcement)

I can think of some examples that are kind of close, but ofc they're not fun to talk about.
Imagine getting information from TikTok in the first place.
After the facts there was a audio interview where the girl describe ERP with like they were describing a location to someone, it was very sad to not hear the tone of self awareness that the talk had gone into, and this poor girl was able to describe all this like they were describing something completely devoid of emotional impact. I thought i grew up on the internet but these kids literally have not only spent significant time online, but the ones who have been victims of what we consider the pits of hel are growing up in a culture that does not place a significance on getting offline for a while, looking at life, realizing what happened. The video went on to show that roblox has a whole market set up for people not ready to make good decisions with money to waste hundreds of dollars on avatars and the comunity is rife with unchecked toxicity, as it perpetuates their online transactions.
@@alexanderleatherman - No one should care about her trauma. She should learn and face the reality at some point anyway.
The reason why kids get so much trauma nowadays because they weren’t exposed from reality, parents instead neglect their children leaving them getting deluded by the media and TV shows. Making them think life is all beautiful and loving.
Just wake up, life isn’t heaven, evil do not get punished and morality is just a human made belief, it’s just an excuse to not get any consequences from their stupid actions.
How long will humans realize that there will never be a system that can achieve equality and complete freedom.
