I had spend my time reading Wiley's book on Tchaikovsky's ballets (featuring an English translation of the libretto and the original cast) and when "Le lac des fees", an opera by Daniel (!) Auber, was mentioned as possible influence for the ballet; I was thinking again whether the Mattel Team had actually read this book for the movie. Well, let's see. Well, I haven't seen Dance Academy, but it sound like a thing many dancers experience on the ballet ground, a lot of competence and pressure. Also around the time I did the video it happened the scandal of Sia's movie that didn't make justice to the autist community. (Although I'm neurotypical, it annoyed me the negative reaction Sia's stans had because the autist community was offended) Many things landed over Maddie Ziegler (The dub of Camille in the english version, and the dancer who always do Sia's music videos) She was elected by Sia to tho the role of the autistic girl and she... didn't do it well. She didn't want to do it from the start because she was afraid she could offend someone but Sia insisted. This wasn't Maddie's fault, but I feel so sorry for her because since she was a child people hs been very manipulative with her. Anyways, going on other subject, I did see you uploaded a new video but somehow, videos with stuff to read make me a bit anxious so I decided to check it later. 😖 But I really think is very worth to see! And more if you did a traanslation from the original script! 😃 I'm also looking foward to your content! 😊
@@analivehorses Yes, it is indeed rather much to read, but I could perhaps try to do include an audio. It is actually because the original libretto is very long! I'm also working on an video essay on Barbie of Swan Lake and I will probably refer to the original libretto. I just need a bit the courage for recording myself; and I try to get the copyright on my side (I guess, for comments, using pictures as quotes is allowed.). So, perhaps you could also wait; because I think the libretto needs some explaination. I have always guessed that the Barbie of Swan Lake movie is using the original source; and I would love to explore it. I can't promise when it will be done.
