  • Winston showed up out of nowhere and dragged me outside to show what he bought for the show.
    Turns out he did what I explicitly didn't want him to do. He bought a Dodge Ram 8.0L V10 2500 truck...
    We don't need this.

The manufacturers brought out SUVs and polished up their pickup truck offerings since they were exempted from the CAFE standards. The pickup trucks developed a "self-reliant person with property in the country" glamour.

    I don’t why so many people bag on Americans for owning trucks a lot of truck. 4x4 trucks are such a utility vehicle for someone that has a diy mentality. You can do off-roading 4wd, has a powerful engine and can tow other things if you have a trailer. The truck bed can move furniture and other things. They aren’t the most fuel efficient vehicles (specifically this year of truck in the video) but nowadays the newer trucks get like 25-30 mpg which is pretty good.

  • @chemech
    @chemech 3 года назад

    The good news is that these trucks are relatively easy to work on.
    The not so good news is that parts, while readily available, aren't cheap. You should check out the truck junkyard in Oceanside, on the 76 just inland of I-5.
    Also, oil changes are going to cost you $$$
    The bad news is that you got the V-10 engine with the automatic transmission... Guaranteed to guzzle gasoline. Check your paperwork - if you got the 4.10 differential, she'll pull up stumps, but the fuel economy is worse than with the 3.73.
    Also, you got a 4x4, with all of that extra weight and friction to overcome...
    Me, I'm very happy with my 2004 2500 with the Cummins diesel, even with the automatic and the 4.10, but my fuel economy could be better...
