I noticed the minimum speed on those dewalts are 16,000 RPM, so I have to ask because I have one of these mega Vs in shop. What feed rate are you using and are there 2 flutes on that bit? Just curious, thanks.
Nice video...I just started playing with my millright mega v xxl....what bit did you use....and is there specific bits for aluminum (metal) or is this the bit that cam with the unit
Thx for sharing. Good to know that the Mega V can indeed mill aluminum. Might be good to shorten how much of the bit sticks out of the collet to reduce deflection and use ramp entry to reduce the risk of chipping the bit. Did you use masking tape and super glue to hold the piece on the waste board?
I inserted the bit as far as I could before it started getting into the flutes of the bit, I need shorter "0" flute bits for sure! Ramping in will definitely be something I pay attention to in the future! Tape and glue was the hold down method here and it seemed to work really well even with this aluminum piece! Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback!
I got mine put together but won’t move. Motors are locked up and holding. I have the plasma version so the next thing I’ll try is to hook up the serial port attachment. It’s frustrating to learn a new machine with no instructions!
Jeff Verdin believe me I’m subscribed to them both! It’s hard for me to get time to dig into them working full time with overtime, so it’s usually just weekends. I’ve noticed there isn’t allot of plasma versions though
Check out corvetteguy50. He has tons of info about all things cnc. Now he is selling his products, but he has videos on mach3/4, sizing stepper motors, all kinds of stuff. Helped get mine running.
Thanks for watching! As far as I can tell its keeps very tight tolerances. For most of what I've been doing with it, super tight tolerances aren't critical but its nice nonetheless. The machine is very rigid and uses pretty thick extrusion.

Looks like the tape and glue hold is doing pretty good job!
Tape and glue works great for many applications! If you havent tried it yet you should!
Thanks for watching!
Those plunge cuts are giving me goosebumps! It would be really good if you could ramp in to those instead of straight down.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of setting up the laser. Good video
Maybe Thursday or Friday I will have the laser setup video!
Jones Company Customs looking forward to it.
Just curious instead of plunging into the material can you set it up so you enter the stock from the side?
I'm still a noob when it comes to fusion 360 but I think that is an option. My design skills and toolpath skills need improving!

@@jonescompanycustoms7208: Aren’t O-flutes for plastic? I thought More flutes are what you use when cutting metals?

Are you getting help in any Facebook groups or other forums?
There’s two MillRight groups on Facebook. Trialnterro.. I would suggest starting there.

trialnterror there’s a couple post on the MillRight Pro group. You are correct and there not being a lot of information out there yet on it

Each pass sounded like a Tusken Sand Raider screaming for 15 seconds
Haha it does get pretty loud lol
Thanks for watching!
Is this machine as accurate as they claim?

Could this be the best made and best value cnc router in its class?
I think so! That's why I chose the Mega V!
Well the people from xcarve disagree with you and i...they are obviously brainwashed
How did the bit fair?
The bit did great! Like I said, it's the bit that came with the machine and so far it's the only bit beside my tapered bit that I've used!
Say bye bye shapeoko and xcarve lol
