Well said. This guy is amazing. The best, for my money. I'm thinking he can play in any genre.......had not heard of him, because of limited exposure to blues players.
not trying to split hairs but isnt that a '52 reissue? Only reason I ask is cause I have one and it looks similar. But they could have also made a 57...but yeah that thing sounds amazing!!!!
Freakin' amazing. Different. Greg Koch is the #1 reason most guitarists today SUCK. Metal guitarists everywhere playing the same old boring shit that any kid can master in no time.........while we have guitar giants like this who most folks will never hear about. The music industry is so ass backwards & corrupt. Rap, hiphop, lady gaga....ALL WORTHLESS TALENTLESS GARBAGE.
Just read your comment, 9 years later. I couldn't agree more, but happy to say Mister Koch has come a long way thanks to RUclips, and shit loads of touring.
@@anthonygstrandwiththebandt2656 Yes, but Greg will still never become "a household name" because far too many people fail to go beyond mainstream music, which is both sad & pathetic.
I gave it a try and this is what I came up with. It's mostly correct, the video shows the vamp clearly while the rest is hard to tell but with many attempts and you at half speed, this is what I got. The vamp is A13-D9. A13 is played x x 5 6 7 3, D9 is x x 4 5 5 2 Chorus: What's matter baby: E7: x 7 6 7 x x, then the lick: E, Eb, B,D, B, C#, A,G,G#,D You know I'll never do you wrong: E7: x 7 6 7 x x, C#, E, F -> F#, E (played in octaves): C#: x 4 x 6 x x, E: x 7 x 9 x x, F: x 8 x 10 x x, F#: x 9 x 11 x x F slides into the F# What's matter baby: E7: x 7 6 7 x x, then the lick: E, Eb, B,D, B, C#, A,G,G#,D You'll never wake up to find me long gone: E7: x 7 6 7 5 x C9: x 3 2 3 3 x C6: x x x 5 5 5, passing chord: x x x 4 4 4, C9: x x x 3 3 3 I ain't got problems: back to the A13 - D9 vamp Clean up your act: E7, x 7 6 7 x x D?: x x x x 7 7 7 x (not so sure, but I think it's this) Before it's too late: C7: 8 x 8 9 8 x, Bb13 6 x 6 7 8 x (not sure about C7 but Bb13 sure sounds right)

Twistin' that '57 re-issue 'till it talks!
I’ll have to add Greg to my long list of pickers that make me want to study harder and hang it up all at the same time.
its an american deluxe ash tele with joe barden pickups - i have the same guitar you can tell by the inlays on the neck
Wow, first time hearing this guy. Man can he work a Tele! Not many can make a Tele wail like that.

Not sure about the model of Tele, but I know the pickups are not Barden. They are Ray Gerold pickups.
American Deluxe

Does anyone knows those chords?
I gave it a try and this is what I came up with. It's mostly correct, the video shows the vamp clearly while the rest is hard to tell but with many attempts and you at half speed, this is what I got.
The vamp is A13-D9. A13 is played x x 5 6 7 3, D9 is x x 4 5 5 2
Chorus:
What's matter baby:
E7: x 7 6 7 x x,
then the lick: E, Eb, B,D, B, C#, A,G,G#,D
You know I'll never do you wrong:
E7: x 7 6 7 x x,
C#, E, F -> F#, E (played in octaves): C#: x 4 x 6 x x, E: x 7 x 9 x x, F: x 8 x 10 x x, F#: x 9 x 11 x x
F slides into the F#
What's matter baby:
E7: x 7 6 7 x x,
then the lick: E, Eb, B,D, B, C#, A,G,G#,D
You'll never wake up to find me long gone:
E7: x 7 6 7 5 x C9: x 3 2 3 3 x
C6: x x x 5 5 5, passing chord: x x x 4 4 4, C9: x x x 3 3 3
I ain't got problems: back to the A13 - D9 vamp
Clean up your act:
E7, x 7 6 7 x x D?: x x x x 7 7 7 x (not so sure, but I think it's this)
Before it's too late:
C7: 8 x 8 9 8 x, Bb13 6 x 6 7 8 x (not sure about C7 but Bb13 sure sounds right)
Guitar players guitar player!
