- It's time for another GMBN face-off! Neil Donoghue, Blake Samson and Rich Payne go head to head fighting for the crown of the best tyre combination. Each of them will set a series of challenges they all have to complete, whoever loses on the challenge will gain a letter. The first to spell out G.R.I.P. will lose, the person with the least letters wins! 🏆

2.35 vittoria barzo front and rear. great grip in the current Dutch wet weather.
Cant go wrong with a set of Nobby Nics.
Trusty maxxis ardent
Mazza Enduro front and rear on the EEB and Mazza + Martello Trail on the trailbike
Currently schwalbe 2.25 ice spikers on the hardtail.
Maxxis. 2.5 Dhf front and 2.3 minion ss rear on the fs trail bike.
Not using the DH bike at the moment but I'll try some Michelin next summer...

That was fun to watch. Blake truly is a powerhouse though, he flew on that last bit. When it comes to jumps, let's just say British Airways probably has less air time than Blake. Neil is definitely king of downhill. Rich on a light bike is going to bring his XC skills to bear for sure. Now what on earth caused Neil's mechanical at the end there?

Anyone know what trail they were on for challenge 3? Been to Surrey Hills a few times but don't recognise that one. Also the trail for challeng 5, thought it was Supernova but I'm not sure?

20:04 the last big crash i had was on a takeoff like this trying to triple a jump. How do you hit a kicky takeoff like that at race pace without getting booted?

How about a "Game of Bike". Between GMBN and GCN. So GCN don't cheat. Have all challenges on either mountain bikes, gravel bikes or a mix of both.
On my squish I’m running a 2.4 dissector exo+ on the rear and a 2.5 assegai exo on the front. On my hard tail running specialized eliminators front and rear in there grid trail T7 in 2.6
Which brand do you prefer out of the two? Or are both of them great?
I think the Ebike should be faster, especially if he is also pedaling

What tyre combination do you have?
@@gmbn 29x2.5 attack hpl top 40 compound on the front (outrageously sticky) and then just a simple 29x2.35 crown gem folding tire on the rear. Want to go with a tackee compound flow snap tire on the rear for faster rolling. That enduro casing is TOUGH
Im 40 in a week!. Wasnt getting and eeb till this spring.. but i got one last... for my 39th. Dont regret it atall.. thanks to life now. Feel every bit of 40.. zero energy these days. Eeb is the one

Emtb’s are just the sickest thing! More riding & just very capable machines. Mtb’s are for the young & carefree but again, are still brilliant. Just enjoy whatever you do on whatever piece of kit you are on.

I don't understand the hate for e-bikes I don't have one I have an itis written though and love it but you can't all tell me that you guys really love days where you're bogged out and you want to ride but it just feels really miserable going up the slightest hill me and my buddies are constantly stopping at every top of every trailhead and we're sitting here resting and waiting then you see the guys on the e-bikes go by and they're talking and laughing and looks like they're having a great time while we're sitting there with our hands on our knees breathing heavy and just waiting to recoup before going down the hill when really that's all you really want to do is go down the hill and lots of you guys ride up on a shuttle van but that's not cheating I don't understand lose the hate If you don't like it you don't like it but still don't understand the issue with e-bikes

Nobody's angry for ebike because we all know you had to fulfill your contract with tire manufacturer and showcase all of them. We all know deep inside you would otherwise be riding a Normal bike for normal people 😅
