    Hey everyone,
    This song took quite long to make, simply because the solo was as far as I have ever pushed myself with one. Never done tapping before this, nor a run as long as this, nor connected melodic lines with them... so it is suffice to say that this was a first time for a lot of things!

    Very evocative, and the description story resonated with me heavily. I have very frequent nightmares as a side effect of severe generalized anxiety disorder, worsened by ADHD. When I was a child, I was scared to fall asleep, because the nightmares would traumatize me so much.
    Now that I am a bit older and medicated for ADHD, my nightmares have subsided somewhat. I feel that I am on the other side of fighting my own head for sleep, the vast majority of the time. To me, this song seems like an anthem for finding victory in resilience, in fighting the long fight against mental struggles.
    Wonderful song!

  • @kengored_alt
    @kengored_alt Год назад +23

    Even tho i don't relate to the description story, this song feels like constant running from something, and that something never gets off your tail, like you are in a loop of running, but the more you run, the more you feed the beast. Also i like that throughout the song the leitmotif stays the same most of the time and even when its not there, your mind "hears" it subconsciously, its like nothing except environment changes from running, but the problems always stand right behind your back, even when it seems that you finally got away. Thats what an ouroboros is for a mere human, not a mythical creature, but a state of constant pain and running, a never ending cycle of suffering without an option to fight, draining you until you wither away, and then get absorbed by the beast, joining the others who failed.
    Edit 1: OOOHHH i also just noticed that the small tsk in the beginning and similar parts is like a clock ticking, indicating that time cuts short and you have little to no of it to make a decision, keep running till you die, or finally take your chances and fight. But then, in the end of the song it suddenly stops ticking entirely, while the sounds of eternal cycle only fade away, claiming another victim, and going for another...

    Oddly relatable, as someone who struggles with bad dreams and was afraid of going to sleep ever since i was little
    Nowadays i go to sleep with the help of having conversations with friends over the phone, and it helps a bit, but it doesn't take away the fact that the nightmares might still come when i least expect it lol

    Some of that higher guitar accents reminds me of stuff like Soulfly, an example being Soulfly from the album Soulfly, and the general melancholic musical void of filled sounds it puts me in reminds me of Archangel (another Soulfly song) or Floods and The Sleep (Pantera). Listening to this I imagined a massive blue dragon covered in highly conductive metal armor, wielding a to-scale crossbow it made itself. They call him the Eye of the Storm, because whenever this legendary marauder is on the hunt a storm fit to electrify miles of sky, land and sea follows in his wake. Lightning is his herald, and thunder his *wrath*!
    Also just imagine a five story dragon in armor with a crossbow that shoots Redwood Tree sized explosive tipped bolts at you. Talk about a pants shitting image haha! Anyways great work, you've made a song that gives me *You are at the heart of the storm, faced with what should be a myth* vibes. Easily going into my all-time favorite tracks next to *Tenebrae Rosso Sanguie* (Might have misspelled it) from *Ultrakill.*
    Either way it is a privilege to subscribe to you.
    Edit: Have you ever considered doing a cover of *In The House In a Heartbeat* from *28 Days Later*? I think it'd be right up your alley!
