This woman is both stupid and annoying.
The Apple deal is PIVOTAL for Open AI the non-profit. OAI the Microsoft partner (for profit) had a huge problem with trust and mission. The Apple deal gets AI out on the most trusted platform and sets a high standard for openness and privacy. It is also the best possible “win” -Now the two top platforms have BOTH chosen OAI for Generative.
The way I see it, OAI had a problem with Microsoft -too much power. Apple has no desire or ability to push OAI away from it’s moral charter. If Microsoft had any world domination by force of AI delusions, the Apple deal deflates them. Microsoft must compete for trust with safety and verification.
It is completely absurd to believe that Open AI/Microsoft would just give Apple the ability to use GPT 4o for free the devil is in the details.
You underestimate the power of exposure. Open AI is already popular but not as popular as the amount of iPhone users. Becoming an Apple partner isn’t something small. It’s cementing their brand a big player and a very fast growing market.
How is apple controlling somthing they dont controll there own models

99% will happen on device and Apple's Private cloud compute...rarely ChatGPT. Apple used ChatGPT to hype others since ChatGPT gained a celebrity status. Apple has Ferret LLM which is multiple times better than ChatGPT except as a chatbot
