Why is the film being overhyped by few critics?? The film starts off well, makes you excited only to fall flat afterwards. It’s pretty much a mediocre attempt from Vivek. I feel his sensibilities need to evolve to understand action drama. One thing that definitely stands out in Vivek movies is cinematography and music, which fail to make an impact in the movie. All the characters except sj surya are badly written. Hero is an LIC employee who does the work of agent. cI being that powerful is not convincing at all. It’s better to not even talk about sokulapalem- what are they even doing in the movie? The whole second half drags mostly. The audience is waiting to see some smart moves but anyone who just thinks in the movie understands everything about Saturday and surya that easily, come on - living in 2024 but still the writing is so bad. I feel certain section is trying to make up for audience making Ante an average movie. It’s an average movie - accept it. Ajay, Ajay gosh, his grandkid, supreet, kallu father - no pay off nothing, they just come and play to the convenient screenplay. Hero sister character is useless addition as well with no emotional attachment. Hero beating her father in law also doesn’t make any sense and makes you question his maturity. Hero can do such things but establishing over a small disagreement is such a silly thing. Also, the menarikam angle and hero meeting his aunt first time in years - saying aunty, then athayya- man what a writing annattu leptunaru. I appreciate both nani and Vivek but this hype is making me angry as industry may believes this is what audience want, examples being dhamaka, waltairveerayya, nags recent soggadu cinematic universe. Why has the effort gone down so badly? 20 years back Anji, Sneh Kosam, Deviputurudu were flops but still watchable - now acahrya bhola sarkaru variopaata, essentially either they are good or unbearable. Directors Need to collaborate with writers if you want a better output.

I would never accept that ante is an average film . For me ante is my comfort film and it's my fav film... I can sit for a vivek athreya film in the theatre so confidently ...
@@MutthuluruSiddartha let’s agree to disagree. Ante is a great film as compared to Saripodaa but as a a film it has its own flaws. But I do agree that many may like it for what it is, more so for the names of Vivek, Nani, nazriya and certain nostalgic magic it creates at few moments. Nani and Nazriya just being together can make you fall in love.
I watched it in the theatre and felt the second half was going nowhere. Compared to ante, athreya’s earlier movie was much better in terms of writing. Few issues I felt with ante and the reasons why it ended up average according to me -
1. conventional Brahmin vs hardcore Christian conflict doesn’t resonate with most telugu audience (not saying it’s a bad thing). Reason why most people from Kerala, TN love this movie.
2. The change in the arc of the love story toward pregnancy (a story has to be true to itself and one emotion needs to stand out as compared to subplots for such kind of movies).
3. Nani himself admitted he was too big a star for ante, just like sivakarhikeyan was for Prince. Both are good movies but unfortunately a star make the budget flare up and such movies can only collect a certain amount, which makes such movies always end up being average (in terms of box office collections) and sometimes a failure (radheshyam)
4. Also, editing was an issue with directors loving too much of their work
5. At certain places you see the cringe or easy writing taking place playing to the convenience of screenplay (minor compliant)
6. The movie appeared to be comical and loving as per the trailers and other content but there was too much drama which audience was not prepared for. Laughs were minimal too

The Movie Is good But has massive potential to be extraordinary. The fights are bad. The music is extraordinary it saved the movie. Overall Happy for vivek athreya.
