I think The Tower of Terror should get its own bar at Disney Hollywood Studios as its the number one ride and the resturant will take tourists into the movie of dinning in the actual tower as apose to just riding it. How cool would that be.
Actually they once planned to have a bar right in the area when you exit the ToT ride to the left (I really mean the ride, not the building). The space is still there. Unfortunately they never finished the project.
@nickfilms8828 they are not planning a retheme of the ride, what they will be doing in the future is retheming the shop to Scarlett Johanson's new movie that is in the works, much like the 1997 TV movie with Kirstin Dunst the movie will be filmed at Disneys Hollywood Studios.
AGREED! Hopefully the Beyond Big Thunder project does lead to that restaurant, as Jack recently noted could have a chance of happening so the path to the new land(s) won't be too empty.
Good god i'd love to see a Haunted Mansion restaurant going crazy with the theme and make it like the ballroom with large fake windows revealing a perpetual thundering night sky.
I can't narrow down which one would be my favorite, but I love that they are all getting the drink treatment! I could definitely see options for all the classic rides, like a Western tavern for Frontierland with wild west saloon antics at hand; a Swiss Alps Beerhouse for the Matterhorn (or pushed further with a SEA flair into Steampunk theming and gears and clocks and stuff); a Villains dark tavern for the villain land; and a Galaxy Lounge in Tomorrowland to enhance the views of the coaster's story (similar to Space 220, but only focusing on the Space Mountain concept, history, and "future"). I could also see some sort of hidden "escape room" 1920s vibe bar in Main Street, maybe paying homage to Disney's home and stuff; a Royal Castle bar showcasing exclusivity for the nighttime show or daytime parades or something; and even a Tiki tavern to help accelerate new life into the Enchanted Tiki Room.
One of most exciting announcements & new projects I’ve heard in a long time. Not bc of the alcohol but because of the doubling down and expansion of the themed attractions that made them what they are today. LOVE this.
Jack: I visited the "Pirate's League" space COUNTLESS times in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s... when it was the original "House of Treasure" gift shop! That's why all of the theming in still on the upper walls. The current Pirate's retail space was basically an open courtyard at the ride's exit, and did not "become" the new gift shop area until the original "House of Treasure" was converted into the Pirate's League. It's a relatively SMALL SPACE for a bar, maybe smaller than Trader Sam's Grog Grotto....
It’s small, but many others also reckon it will be that location as well. Tortuga inside dining is very small as well. So either way, this is sure to be an intimate bar area.
I think a Tangled themed lounge would be sooooo much better than the Tangled bathroom that is currently there in DW. We obviously would call it the Snuggly Duckling
You might want to look a little closer because in the 1996 when we where down there, they had a Adult area and it was nothing but bars that covered the 70's-80's and 90's music all with different themes of dance and drinking of alcohol and games for the adults. If I remember back then it closed down at midnight and you get a coin when you go into that area.
Disney: attendance is declining as guests have started visiting Universal instead. What do they have that we don’t? Disney: well, it can’t be customer service and park upkeep. It’s must be the alcohol! Brilliant! Let them booze up. They’ll stay here, and get so drunk they won’t even notice we’re charging $60-90 for one drink!
You are spot on correct!!! The magic is gone from Disney. All the original imagineers are now gone, as we have seen with the movie content they are putting out recently, and the only way they are going to keep the parks is by catering to the childish adult trying to recapture their childhood. Roll out the booze!
I am most excited about the Haunted Mansion bar. Hopefully it is bigger than it looks! This bar will be super popular and they need room for more people than the typical DCL themed bar.
Hopefully any new bars might actually give you a CHAIR to sit on, unlike Olga’s Cantina at Disneyland. Nothing like having a late afternoon cocktail after walking 8 miles that day only to have to stand with your drink.
I'm so sorry to ask an unrelated question, but where did you buy those wall panels? They look amazing, and my husband would love to put them in our tattoo shop :)
Hopefully we will get a haunted mansion restaurant extended on to the haunted masion if villains land happens, they can tag the story as if we are dining in their
Building bars is just a cheap cop-out on the part of Disney. They know people want alcohol, they know they can charge a lot for the privilege, and they know that bars are far less expensive to build and operate than restaurants or attractions. But ultimately, bars are bad for Disney. They ruin Disney's reputation as a family-oriented entertainment company (Disney+ is definitely helping with that, too), they proliferate intoxicated guests who are likely to brawl, and they create more exclusive experiences that require guests to pay to play.
Both the Pirates and Haunted Mansion bars sound really cool and I'm excited to see those come to life. I think Disney should bring the Pirates one to Disneyland in California because a lot of really cool stuff only seems to come to Florida or one of the international parks. Either way, great video Jack!
I wonder if you, Jack "Sparrow" Kendall could enjoy Disney's Very Merry Christmas Sing-Along Songs from 1988 or the Behind the Scenes clips of both American Disney Parks from 2006; I watch the first one to enjoy Christmas more, and I saw the last three to commemorate Disney's magical centennial, along with several Mickey shorts, Walt Before Mickey and Once Upon a Studio as well as Frozen II.
I expect the last half and final film of the Pirates of the Caribbean series to release sometime before the end of the 2020's. Then all the movies can be bundled together and Disney's Castaway Cay can feature the world of Pirates of the Caribbean along with the world of The Little Mermaid.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor is clearly in the same place as the Hyperspace Lounge (Star Wars bar) is on the Wish. If the theming is anything like that one we're good to go and it will be busy. As far as lounges go, I'm thinking it's time to go to Mr. Toad's Home for a drink or two.
If Disney does it right these will be wonderfully atmospheric establishments. No matter how they do it, considering the prices Disney charges, these places will pay for themselves within a month.
I am most excited about the haunted mansion bar. Now if they put Johnny Depp in the pirates bar then I would be all in for that. (Unfortunately that will not happen) lol Ginny
Here’s the conundrum as I see it: If Haunted Mansion restaurants are going to be in the parks, they would need to be part OF the Mansion (the way Blue Bayou is interwoven with Pirates in CA). This is doable, but here’s the problem: If we are ostensibly eating “in” the Mansion (yes, I know it will probably be in a backstage show-building just like the attraction itself… but we would need to ENTER the Mansion so as not to ruin the illusion), then we can’t really experience all the signature things FROM attraction, because, then, there would be duplicates of everything, which would make no sense. It would almost HAVE to be a bar on a cruise ship or a standalone restaurant OUTSIDE of the parks. EDIT: For example, long ago, I conceived of an Andrew Lloyd Webber ‘Phantom of the Opera’ restaurant. I don’t want it to be THEMED like the Phantom’s lair; I want it to BE the Phantom’s lair. That is a massive distinction. We would eat underground overlooking the lake beneath the Opera House. Periodically, his automatons would come to life around us, and eke out music-box renditions of melodies from the musical. The gondola ride would pass by us, just like Blue Bayou and Pirates.
I think as long as it's haunted mansion themed with nods to the characters it could be a new room in the mansion that we have perhaps never ventured into such as maybe visiting a room at the end of the endless hallway or something ...not sure how they would do it but just. Thought lol
So the cruise ships are where it's at for classic Disney theming! It feels like the hotels and WDW parks are becoming generic safe plays (ex. detheming of Grand Floridian, Poly DVC tower, etc) and it's actually the cruise ships that are getting the innovation.
If you are correct about the location of the Pirates themed bar being the old Pirates League experience room then it’s going to have zero capacity compared to demand
I'll enjoy those bars when they arrive, but animatronics involving Syrena, Philip, Davy Jones, Blackbeard, Angelica, Henry Turner, Barbossa's daughter and Armando Salazar ought to be a perfect inclusion.
I love the haunted mansion! I don’t drink but I would go just for the experience. And I also agree that a haunted mansion themed restaurant would be AWESOME!!!!😆
Dear Walt, I'm sorry to tell you this but, at your theme park in Anaheim, an over served park goer assaulted my 5 year old girl. She suffered a broken ankle and was treated for a concussion... GUESS WHOS GETTIN SUED BUBBA!!!!
Wow, I never knew Pirate's League existed! (Or if I had, I never gave it second thought--though as a kid, I wouldn't have minded being decked out like a pirate. 😏) That's an EXCELLENT insight on where the tavern will probably be: While I'm sure a boy's answer to the Boutique was appreciated, it's probably not AS high on a boy's list of priorities as dressing up like a princess is for a girl. And so, gents...FETCH ME THE RUM!!! 🍻
Great video and amazing investigating as usual, I agree with your theory for the pirate lounge location. They should make a bar themed after Alice in Wonderland, they could serve tea to the little ones!
We don’t want our little ones around Disney any longer. The bars are a great idea though, as families dump Disney and Disney “transitions” into gay adult entertainment.
I’ve thought there should be a bar or even better a restaurant themed to the Haunted Mansion for a long time . I’ve alway felt that HM was a slightly more adult ride and it would be so great to extend that experience. Oh and for the few that worry about alcohol being served at Disney don’t automatically assume that some who has a drink will have booze oozing out of there pores ,staggering around and fighting. I’m sure Disney would figure out to to limit the amount served to guests. Hating soda and sugary drinks ,I have always disliked sitting down to an upscale and pricy meal with nothing but water and coffee.
With people going to Universal more and more. Specially because Universal offer a better annual pass option for non residents, offer alcohol to the PARENTS who are the ones paying for the kids!! And also just adults who enjoy rides and a good time. Yes people go to city walk to just have a drink.
💡 A Haunted Mansion Bar, Las Vegas Disney Immersive Experience, Pirates Bar, a dark ride experience similar to one you would come across at a boradwalk, and a Disney themed indoor golf course would be great additions to Downtown Disney. This is what the people want, an experience, an alternative to the parks. Stop giving us cookie cutter restaurants and retail stores that you would find at any other mall. We want to immerse ourselves in everything Disney. If I book Disney, I want everything Disney. Thank you for letting me vent. May all your dreams come true. 🏰✨️
If/when the beyond thunder mountain expansion happens, do you think they will have to clear guests out of the area for firework fallout similar to how they do for fantasyland behind the castle or how they used to do for dhs in their early years of fireworks?
Can't stand all these bars in the parks. Are people in that much of a need to be drunk ALL THE TIME!? This is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Walt and Roy wanted in the parks and what Walt saw in other amusement parks that he wanted to be different from. You want alcohol so bad? Go the the resorts, hotels, heck, even Corporate disney springs (dowtown disney at DL) and get drunk to your hearts content. You keep seeing more fights and other more serious infractions and incidents. As alcohol keeps spreading throughout the parks more and more. It's NOT a coincidence! This is a slippery slope that won't end well. Because where will it stop? It won't because there won't be any other reason for it to stop. You can't now just say "oh, this is the limit" when other locals don't serve alcohol, the drunks will want it everywhere they can get it. Then you'll get that smell you find at concerts, sports events, etc. of the alcohol oozing out of peoples pores while you're standing in line, or the bad smell of spilled beer and drinks on the ground after it's dried. It's awful. But that will be what becomes of these parks sooner or later. Yep, take your CHILDREN into that environment folks! All the while PAYING even more for the privilege.
Concept art good but OGA’s Cantina was bad. Where were the aliens? Bounty hunters? Just guests. Yes actors are expensive but why not fill the perimeter with animatronics? No vibe of star wars cantina
This is exactly what Disneyco parks need! A few beers ought to make you forget how much money you spent to get into this toilet of a theme park. Worry about selling your kids on ebay tomorrow. But hey, who needs a checking and savings account anyway???
Bringing alcohol into the Disney parks was the beginning of Disney's downfall. There is no reason to have bars and carts that serve alcohol in any part. Who wants to go to a park and ride an attraction with someone who is drunk and have them vomit on the attraction or on you then have to shut the attraction down to clean up the vomit or you having to go and change your clothes.
Wild take. I'm sure more kids who aren't drinking throw up A LOT more than any adult who is that drunk. Most adults can moderate their intake (especially at $17 a drink) and don't get as drunk as you (I suspect) assume all people who drink get. Teetotalers are fine, just don't push your ideals and judgement on other people.
So much for being a "family" oriented theme park. But honestly, catering to adults trying to recapture their childhood is the only way Disney Corp is going to survive and keep the parks. I am sure Walt is applauding this move. NOT. Disney Corp of today has abdicated its role of the company that seeks to provide good, wholesome FAMILY entertainment. Don't be surprised when someone else steps in to take up where Walt and Roy left off! I am DONE with this 'new and improved' Disney. It sucks.
Why the need for alcohol? Themes lounges are great, but our obsession with booze baffles me. Disney continues that slippery slope to become Universal, apparently.
I wish they did a better job for Tiana's restaurant at Disneyland. It is okay and i am glad she finally has something..but they missing so many key factors and more. Tiana is my favorite princess. But restaurant is okay smh..
This is exactly why I am a subscriber. Incorporating and celebrating innovation into potential future projects. Another hit,Jack. As far as another ride/IP themed bar🤔 how bout an avatar bar with water elements from avatar 2. Like you're stepping beneath the surface? Nighttime bioluminescent in the evening too
It’s amazing how much Disney is spending NOT on the core market that made them what they are, families. It’s sad watching Disney “transition” to gay adult entertainment.
Stop it with the boozy magic Kingdom. That’s not for kids. A bunch of drunk slobbering and causing trouble us gross. Stop it just stop… it’s ruining wdw

Yes!

It really feels like Disney is transforming from a family/children brand to a Disney adult brand…especially in the parks….time will tell.
Definitely the Haunted Mansion for sure!

Great Post Jack. We would love to see a Haunted mansion Themed Hotel. And a Tower of Terror Themed Hotel
They're going to need a lot of rum.
I came here looking for that comment. 😂

THE HAUNTED MANSION SHOULD GET ITS OWN RESTAURANT!
It looks like the chair they're taking out of the HM is going to be moved to the new parlour.
I’m surprised that Disney is not planning on creating the haunted mansion hotel yet

This is exactly what Disneyco parks need! A few beers ought to make you forget how much money you spent to get into this toilet of a theme park. Worry about selling your kids on ebay tomorrow. But hey, who needs a checking and savings account anyway???
Just make Disney a giant boozefest
Is this on the ship or the resort?
Interesting
I don't want any more bars at Walt Disney World. More people drinking at Disney world is not a good thing.
Is the haunted mansion restaurant for Disneyland?
Why didn’t they put the pirate bar on the ship and the Haunted Mansion bar in the park? Disney is so upside down and backwards these days.
I agree, that would have made way more sense 😂
So much for being a "family" oriented theme park. But honestly, catering to adults trying to recapture their childhood is the only way Disney Corp is going to survive and keep the parks. I am sure Walt is applauding this move. NOT. Disney Corp of today has abdicated its role of the company that seeks to provide good, wholesome FAMILY entertainment. Don't be surprised when someone else steps in to take up where Walt and Roy left off! I am DONE with this 'new and improved' Disney. It sucks.
They should put a Haunted Mansion bar in one of the NOLA themed hotels.
Why the need for alcohol? Themes lounges are great, but our obsession with booze baffles me. Disney continues that slippery slope to become Universal, apparently.
Another video already?? Jack Jr must be a good baby!
My wife is very supportive! Her taking care of Max today freed up the time to do this video! She’s amazing!
@@DSNYNewscast Tell her I said thank you!
Ah, another bar. WDW stands for Whiskey Done Wontonly. 😢
Pirates don’t make reservations!
More "fight at Disney" videos coming soon.
How about "Dopey's Dispensary" in Fantasyland?
#DisneyDiva ❤
Alcohol and fast rides... what could go wrong?
Universal sells alcohol, so does EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, all of which have rollercoasters. And it’s been fine there 😉
More booze . Great. More gross drunks and brawls. So over this place
Ladies didn't went to bars in 19th century !
Stop it with the boozy magic Kingdom. That’s not for kids. A bunch of drunk slobbering and causing trouble us gross. Stop it just stop… it’s ruining wdw
Keep Disney dry!
People have been sneaking alcohol into the parks for decades, it's not new. They are just trying to make money and distribute it safer.
what in the actual hell language are you speaking
