    The reason they Sound so Different, is because; the EHX is cutting-out some of the Bass ( so in essence ) - you are getting all the top-end shimmer from the Mistress. The Mooer E-Lady is Full Frequency, and not shelving-off the Bass end. I am not saying One is Better then the other. ( as with everything in life ), it is all: Personal Preference. I am currently using the Mooer and I absolutely Love It. No Volume Drop. No Bass Drop. Studio Quiet. I can Duplicate: David Gilmour or Andy Summers.

    • @gilmourishofficial
      @gilmourishofficial  7 лет назад +4

      Yes, that's the case with the early EHX but the Deluxe, well mine anyway, has no low end cut but a slight volume drop. The late 90s version that I have sounds different than the more recent models.

    • @michael_caz_nyc
      @michael_caz_nyc 7 лет назад +4

      I am telling you. ( I am Extremely Picky and Difficult to please ) and the Mooer is Fantastic. It gets me All the Sounds I could ever want ( or need ) for Gilmour or Andy Summers ( I also use then in conjunction with: a Phenomenal Chorus Pedal & equally Impressive Univibe )

    • @Topsy_Krett
      @Topsy_Krett 7 лет назад +3

      I recently got the Mooer and I can clearly hear a slight volume drop -- especially when the Color control is set low. But this is what the Mistress circuit does, and the Mooer captures the Mistress sound extremely well. I just put a Spark mini booster right after the Mooer and it's perfect. (I also own a semi-functional Hartman flanger)

      @isher9035 5 лет назад +5

      Mooer actually builds pretty accurate clones. I had the Ensemble King for a while, and it sounds exactly like a CE-2, and better than most CE-2 clones out there. They're using good parts on the circuit boards in these things.

      I think the Vintage one has a slightly less top end then the easy lady and that's why I think I prefer the electro-harmonix cuz it cut some of that high and that turns into plinky 2010e crap that just doesn't sound electro-harmonix does not have that real high-end rashes so it sounds really smooth cool

      Michael Caz : I wish that range sweep would have been opened up a bit more. Per the EHX DEM manual: "The RANGE control allows you to set the lower limit of the sweep. ... Turning the RATE control clockwise lowers the low limit so that the sweep extends further into the bass." A little more control variance in general would have been nice, as there seems to be a big discrepancy in the rate controls, but overall this is a good demo with useful summary at the end. The verdict for me is to hang on to my vintage DEM for recording and intimate small-board local shows, and if needed for a larger-board and or road show, the Mooer e-lady seems perfectly sufficient, compact and board friendly - plus I would care as much if it got broken or stolen :)

    Six years ago I bought not one , but two little angels called Mooer Eleclady because of this video. One is still sealed in box , and the other one in in my humble pedalboard and I save the box. The circuit board and components are top notch. You know something ?, this thing have a real old panasonic mn3207, I’m in my fifties, I have almost 40 very old and wonderfully sounding analog pedal. CE1, electric mistress 2 bateries etc. so Belive me ; the chip is not a cheap chinesse falsification. All said; this thing done something no one of the Self Proclaimed “boutique makers” NEVER DONE, a good sonic replica of the holy grail old ehx deluxe and electric mistress. This thing is a gorgeus sounding pedal; ah!, and of course KILLS my Hartman Flanger; -really well made , original panasonic mn3007!, made in USA bla bla, but I hate it!, too trebly sounding. Well done Mooer

    I compared the Elec lady with my 3 Electric Mistress pedals. The one that sounds closer (model wise) is to the Sovtek/EH Deluxe Electric MIstress Reissue from the 90's. The DLX reissue uses a reticon RD5106 chip . When i compared it to my standard and deluxe electric mistress that runs on the SAD1024 both sounded more "warbling and cloudy" than the eleclady. Also the regenenation (feedback) on the eleclady has more bass than any of the above. It seems that the mix is set a bit stronger on the wet side on the eleclady. In a live situation you won't distinct the difference much and its true bypass allows you to have a better low and high end response which sounds very close to the gilmour sounds on the wall "live". I assume Peter Cornish true bypassed most of gilmour's unit on his pedalboard which would contribute to the clarity and presence on those live records. An eleclady can pretty much nail the tone of the solo on "mother" on the wall live. just add a chorus to the mix and you're all set. VERY GOOD PEDAL for the price if you don't wanna sacrifice your original electric mistress.

    • @Les61232
      @Les61232 8 лет назад

      Alvaro, Peter Cornish (from what I read) was not a fan of true bypass and used buffered bypass on all his pedals and board builds.

    • @vkuolema79

    Excellent comparison video! I love EHX, but I've often wondered whether it was completely out of necessity to have such large pedals, or if it was more out of tradition. I think this video proves the latter; they sound nearly identical. The size difference is unreal. Is the ElecLady true bypass? If so, this may be the go-to flange pedal for me!

  • @benharris5210
    @benharris5210 2 года назад +1

    The EHX is probably slightly better in a studio enviroment, for miking up a cab with for example. But the Elec Lady is such a great clone those of us who just want a small board friendly sized copy for live gigs, the little intrinsic differences between the two most people will not notice in a live enviroment, but you will notice the difference in board space and your wallet, which is why i opted for the Mooer. However if i was a heavy flange user, i probably would fork out the additional extra for a real electric mistress. There is no right or wrong answer, for my needs the Mooer is plenty and good value.

      HI Bjorn ths for your reply and for a great resource btw, its been useful to me on many, many occasions.
      I guess it would be more correct for me to say that in my speakers the guitar signal sounds slightly less present or "atop the signal" in the mooer than the alternative, maybe due to discrete voicing differences.
      I agree the characteristics are surprisingly similar. I guess ultimately if what I hear in my monitors is how the Mooer performs in real life as well it would be more of a feel issue. In some pedals the signal seem a little more immersed in the effect wash, which for anything but ambient stuff I'm not usually so keen on.
      But yeah its very slight differences, that could be due to a variety of things
