I heard of Dead Internet long time ago. It was like creepypasta type stuff before but now it seems spine chilling "too close to reality". I was lately thinking how much RUclips and content on the Internet has been going down and with my friends we started joking about it saying lit like in the Phineas. Someone mentions shity video they saw, someone responds "X, I know what we're gonna do today, We will fix RUclips". Glad to see its not just me feeling bit more dejected from it all.
RUclips has a lot of problems. What with its Algorithm prioritizing specific content over others, you slowly turn into a full on movie production that feels less and less like someone made this for You. Small creators that can’t / won’t fall in line with whatever the RUclips “meta” is get buried, and even old favorites like Markiplier and DanTDM don’t get nearly as much traffic as they once did, and a big part of that is the incentives the Algorithm puts on specific types of content creators. I don’t want to watch a Mr Beast, or whatever Cocomelons doing to kids, or the billion different short form videos that get pushed my way, I want to find small creators like You who seem passionate about a topic and stick with them. The only good thing I can say about RUclips as a platform is that it does still show the user small creators, even if it feels like a gatcha game for what you get.
@intelligencecube6752 Admittedly slow news week for yugioh. In either case, I just want to make videos about topics I want to talk about. Sometimes, it's card games. Other times, it's the life cycle of social media.
when you mentioned the fact you had 1k subs, i was surprised. you REALLY deserve more, i enjoyed this video, and i hope to see your channel absolutely blow up.
I've started to use blueskies and I've honestly enjoyed it granted I block almost everyone who talks about politics and just follow art but hey Also this video pretty much summed up all my thoughts on modern social media
Great video! I didn't expect this type of content when I subscribed to you, but I like it :D Perhaps you could think about making 2 separate channels, one for yugioh and one for whatever this type of video would be called.
@Babaroi Thanks. At the moment, I already feel like I don't upload consistently enough. I wouldn't want to not consistently upload to multiple channels. Most of what I do here is just whatever I feel like talking about. Hence, the anime/toku stuff in earlier vids.
I really enjoyed the video, and it honestly made me think how it's been a bit of a chore to try and avoid AI content for myself. Also, BlueSky is nice.
My RUclips Feed Finally Dropping a good Content!! Maybe the tomorrow internet can be very different but for now, we're at today internet Yeah that's all I have to say, algorithm go brrrrr
Tbh the internet as a whole is on a downwards spiral... good sites get burried under a lot oaf ads. Searching for stuff got nearly impossible. Twitter forget it. RUclips is on a war with its customers in how to shove as many ads in their faces as possible... a lot of games went like EA. Some uses a lot of DLC others just push a lot of microtransactions in your face... its all about consume consume consume... Am I old to say, that I miss the old times? Like 2005 to 2010
The issue is that the internet became profitable. Back then, it was harder to make huge profits from the Internet. Nowadays? Everything is a ad-covered hellscape that is self-destroying in the name of 'making money'. The internet stopped being about the individuals, about the people, and instead ended up shoved into corporate gardens and closed ecosystems where they can milk you for the most amount of money, be it through fooling you into buying that one product that's absolutely dogshit useless but 'everyone is using it!', making you content, or stealing your eyeballs and time away. In good words of David Draiman "In another time, when we weren't so blind When the world was more Than what we see online When we actually lived instead of watching life In another time, in another time"
I feel like at this rate we should just make our own Internet, an insect that is just like from the 2000s and 2010s but with a user driven search engine, better preservation and all that good stuff like what the Internet used to have back in the day.
@@TrizziEhgan could make it anyway. This in no way was comprehensive and was mostly a superficial look from perspective. I'm sure there is probably still a lot to be said.
personally , i think the era of the 'free' internet is coming to a close -- maybe there will be closed communities, or paywalls, or localised-internets (based on countries / groups of countries)
As far connecting with a group of people I don’t know in real life I just use Discord/Locasl/RUclips(kinda), but mostly Discord since it’s like being in a early 2000-2010’s MMO guild at times. Never got into the big social media platforms since I’ve never like the idea of some rando coming around just to try and ruin my day for no reason.
2000's AIM was the shit, but most of my friends interacted with each other through Skype, until Microsoft did their thing and we swapped between Teamspeak/Mumble/Ventrilo/etc. It was a simpler Internet and I still miss those days from time to time.
@ Now I think about most Social Media is equivalent to going to a MMO town hall where everyone’s spamming their prices on in-game items. Like you know most either afk or bots trying to play the market. While everyone else is just moving through them doing quest hoping you don’t your computer does crash due the lag.

Social media is dying?

Here from Egad's stream! Neat that you used tracks from Sims 2 for background music. Also subscribed!
@happyfaults Ayy, someone got it.
I like to try and pick tracks that aren't as heavily used on RUclips and sometimes are relevant to the topic.

Commenting for the algorithm, but I'll edit my stream where I talk about your video and post it sometime in the future too.
first video I watched by you and you earned yourself a sub m'dude. I wish much prosperity for you :)

The Internet is like that Warner Brothers frog at this point. It might dance and give you what you want, but not likely when you need it to.

@@traplover6357 just for you. I'll add it to the description of the video.
This is why I stick to Tumblr. It's so irrelevant that it's avoided all this mess.
Do you know tumblr is also dead?

if i took a shot everytime i saw an EOE style thumbnail on youtube id be dead xd
i was thinking about making a video about twitter, but this video already sums it up. welp, video idea cancelled.

Real talk? If it wasn't for discord, work, and video games, I wouldn't use the internet at all.
Just mute what you don't want to see. It's honestly easy to trim Twitter down to what you want it to be.
