Bob, I'm so glad that you still make the effort to make these videos with Brad and that you are not self conscious about it. Hope you have a swift recovery. Love you guys.
Bob and Brad, I’m having company in about six weeks. I have an old mattress upstairs on the bed so I’m going to Lowe’s today to buy a piece of plywood it’s a queen mattress should I buy a 60 x 80” piece of plywood to go between the mattress and boxsprings that will extend the whole length and width for Support?
Just put a My Pillow under the mattress where the dented spot was and it's been helping my lower back pain! I wake up without aches and soreness in my lower back. Thanks for the quick fix, Bob and Brad!
I like the pillow under the mattress trick! 15Yrs ago I needed a new mattress as the pain and headaches were getting worse on what I had... but I was unemployed. What I WAS able to save up for was a piece of foam. Firm, normal beige looking foam from a foam shop - not a foam mattress, that has different firmness of foam, but just once piece regular foam. I got it 6" thick and to stop sweating/let my skin breath I got a skinny memory foam topper. WOW, cheaper than a mattress!! and it worked for my knees, hips and lower back. I was 240 lbs, my heavy parts sank but were supported in the foam, and my light spots were resting on the foam with full support! The backs of my knees, back of ankles, neck were all supported laying on the foam. I got the support of lots of pillows without them, and only use pillows for when the pain is really bad. Its 15yrs later and now!, I have the sag in the foam (i am 210 lbs round fat not muscle). The pillow trick underneath the mattress is perfect!! I now have time to save for a new mattress. I will have to test a Sleepovation in a store, as I am still partial to the cheaper regular foam. Awesome trick video! And if your really poor like, try some foam. I wouldn't go less than 6" so you can sink, but not be sinking down to the bottom. Kind of floating in the middle height area of the foam.
I have a piece of fleece for a small blanket and folded it 4-6 times in the area above the hips. I saw a tip to put it under the sheet and it stays in place pretty well
OMG! I was just at my daughters’ and told her that, not only did you guys help me greatly reduce the migraines I used to get from my occipital neuralgia, but then, you taught me to do the alphabet with my feet to improve the circulation in my legs. And now, my bed will have so many pillows, it will look 👀 like I’m sleeping in a bowl of popcorn. My daughter may begin to wonder if I joined a cult…although, I’ve got her doing the alphabet with her feet now😂👏🤗🤸🏼
@@SoItGoesCAL34 Spent 3 hours looking for you today through B&B’s shows and couldn’t find it. But Brad said he does the alphabet with his feet when he is sitting on long airplane flights, so he won’t clots in the veins in his legs. I do mine in bed (3 in a row) laying down, with my feet elevated about 1 inch. It’s quite a workout, but fun. Brad kept his feet slightly off the floor also when he did his in the seating position. Also you should do the letters relatively quickly. (Sorry you asked?😟) I swear it’s fun and super healthy.🤩🤸🏼👍
I should get the leg wedge for my husband! I’m a side sleeper so those tips are very helpful. I don’t know why I never thought to make a canal! Thank you guys!
I use a folded up (hot dog style) comfortor and put it under my mattress. It runs from head to toe and works well to get rid of sagging. I sleep on my side and back. I use a king sized pillow for under my knees when I'm on my back and then in between when I'm on my side. I don't even have to move the pillow, just my legs.
We really needed this one. I have scoliosis & denerative disc disease & need a firmer mattress but my husband insisted on memory foam mattress AND added a memory foam topper a few years ago. He's beginning to feel the error of his mattress choice.
I followed the old mattress into the spare room as my husband insisted on a new mattress I couldn’t cope with. Quite good really as we don’t disturb each other with our old folk troubles.
I agree memory foam mattress is great if you don't want to feel the springs of a spring mattress when it gets lumpy. But it does havoc it on my back. That's why I'm using different size pillows to put on them my back between my knees or under my neck and keep switching back and forth the kinds and we find more comfortable position while I'm struggling on the still nice super soft but aching making foam mattress
@@wendyrowland7787 yes Wendy full mattresses are great but after a while they're torture on the back. That's why I get different size mattresses and experiment using different thicknesses while I'm trying to go to sleep
I need a new bed and couch! My bed is more uncomfortable so I sleep on my couch. Doubling up with a thick comforter or 2 also helps. I put that on the couch. Hopefully I can get a new bed and couch next year. Thanks 4 the tips.
I have lower back pain if I sleep on my back, both shoulders hurt if I sleep on my sides. My hands go numb. I'm honestly thinking about a recliner. Plus, I snore like a dying walrus. Can't wear a CPAP, I feel like I'm drowning.
An air mattress is the best thing ever. Especially for hip problems. when you sleep on your side. SUPERB! BUT they only stay inflated for 2 months maximum (I tried them all). Its a bit like only a pneumatic car tyre is OK - no filler or foam works as well. I haven't tried a water bed.
We have a brand new Beauty rest firm mattress. I usually sleep on my right side. When I wake up in the morning my left hip hurts until I get moving around. It does not hurt while I'm laying down. The mattress is already sagging where we sleep and is still higher in the middle. When I sleep somewhere else, the hip doesn't hurt at all. I also have a piece of ply wood board under the mattress but that doesn't help. We paid a lot of money for this mattress to be doing this. I sleep with a pillow between my legs and that doesn't help. If I lay on my back or stomach then the hip hurts worse in the morning. Don't know what else to do. Thanks so much for your great videos.
I figured myself to yse cushions. Now I see they also do it. The plank under the mattress could be under the mattress protector and then different thickness of cushions. I have a hollow back and put a thicker cushion in that area. The new mattress a person buys don't last depending on what brand you bought.
I love these 'Midwest nice' Guys! We rented a cabin 'up north' for a week and the mattress was awful! lesson here- be preparied....bring lots of different size pillows! Thanks for the info!
Using pillows for knee and mid-back drives me crazy because it's hard to position them and they also tend to not stay put. However, I do find hugging a small, firm throw pillow is useful when sleeping on my side or, if on my back, using the small, firm throw pillow on my chest just under my chin. I use my firm "heart" shaped pillow from when I had by-pass heart surgery several years ago.
Pillows between the knees feel ok at first but then are cumbersome and uncomfortable later when I want to turn to the other side to take pressure off my hips. I end up fighting the pillows. The sheet around the waist might work! I am going to try it. My biggest problem is that if I use a pillow, then my lower back hurts but I can breathe. If I get rid of the pillow, my back is fine but then my neck bugs me and I get a stuffy nose.
What's a good Mattress for me to buy that's Reasonable. I had 3 back Surgerys and severe Asthma. And the bed I'm in is down to the floor, springs and all.

I got a 3 inch soft, natural latex topper. It comes in 1 inch, 2 inch or 3 inch thickness, and you can choose from 3 firmness levels: soft, medium or firm. I have fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, and arthritis in all of my joints. Laying down to sleep was always very painful. I tried so many different kinds of mattresses and just couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep, or I'd sleep for 3-4 hours and wake up pain. The latex topper has been a real game changer for me! For the first time in my life I LOVE going to bed, and I sleep a full 8 - 10 hours and wake up pain free!!! I can't recommend it enough!
