You can also call the shipper since brolers and shippers are liable for double paymnet if the correct party (the carrier) isnt paid. I'd try this before reaching out to a collection agency since they charge so much. In your example the shipper would have told you that Landstar was the original broker. Once you reach out to Landstar and provide the ppwk they should get this squared away. Having a factor can help explain and walk you through this process when a load is recourse back to the carrier.

Hey guys, maybe you can help us out here a little bit. We did haul a load that the receiver said it was shifted load and was rejected. The Driver helped to rework the product but they never said to take load back to the shipper and what the Broker said at the end it was ok to leave the load they unloaded. Now the Broker does not want to pay because they said they had to do the rework wich means to send load back to the shipper with another carrier do the rework and take it back again. The thing is that the Borker at the time of the incident never called the carrier to cancel on the payment until the factoring said they didn't want to pay and then they wanted the Driver to go back to pick up the load from another city and do the rework. So that was a thing impossible for Driver as he was in another State by the time they called for that. So because they never called the carrier to fix the situation or investigate what was going on and they just blame on the Driver because the load shifted, they didn't tell the Driver was not getting paid on this load, do you think insurance will cover if we start to file a claim to their bond? We will appreciate you can help us on this. Thank you!
i picked up a load with AGORA LOGISTICS. small company i guess and RTS wouldnt factor them. i made mistake and booked load from IL- CA for $8,000 . 2220 miles. i was happy with good rate. broker was very responsive and communicative. once i delivered, they requested void check, invoice and all good stuff and agree on 5 business days quickpay then they would disappear for 3 days i email/call 1000 times only to see one email saying wait for us, we will call you in an hour. and no one would call. another 3 days of repeat calls/emails they said they will process payment in 2 days. i let 4 days pass and their accounting called after 1000 email/call saying there is issue because i delivered few hours after appointment so customer wants to deduct $250. i told him okay no problem. he said okay he will call me in an hour with 100% confirmation. again, no call. and thats last they contacted me 2 days ago i filed a claim on bond but we know im not getting nothing. im new O/O so that really Fucked me up and will set me back minimum of 2 months and im going to cancel christmas plans and trip i had planned with wife because i cant afford it anymore.

These people don’t care about you or your family or Christmas. I was already behind on everything when a company called M R Crossland stiffed me for $4500. He knew my situation and everything and he still did me dirty. He’s a carrier I leased on under as an owner/operator and when I look him up on the website it doesn’t show that he has a bond, just insurance. What to do if there’s no bond information??
So that is a different situation than if a broker doesn’t pay. Is he saying that the broker isn’t paying? If so that company should be going through these steps to get paid from the broker, and pay you when they get paid. If they aren’t doing that and they aren’t trying to pay you at all, you will need to take them to court, you can also hire a company like Alexander Winston to put pressure on them to pay you.
We are having payment problems with Cal Coastal Services Inc. They are giving us the run arounds. Last email they said they scheduled a ACH Thursday evening nothing has shown up as of yet .

This is a great idea! One of the problems we ran into was a customer being a single person and not a company.

Tql is not paying me $6000. Tomorrow is the last day to pay my factoring if not, I will use this to get my money.
