    The second casarole cover is fine for home, but it still has to be covered when going outside. {plastic or towel}The first one wpuld be the best choice when taking a casserole somewhere. When I made one, I did not use hardware. I used small fabric tubes and sewed them inside the square. The handle was also sewn inside the square. It was a tad bit narrower than yours. I loved your fabric choice.
