You were throwing out chickweed which is medicinal as well 😊if you make a tea with fresh chickweed 1l hot water 14 gr or a good handful chickweed cower , leave it for 24 h then you get the ful medicinal affect 😊
Where I live, the very last one you showed is called cleavers. Other than dandelions and stinging nettles, I also like chickweed and bitter cress. Broadleaf plantain and narrow leaf plantain are great to eat as well as to use for bug bites and stings. Weeds are awesome!
I make a salve by infusing EV coconut oil with plantain leaves, then combining with good quality EV olive oil and Shea butter, with medicinal essential oils. Great stuff, and very healing.

Another great informative video. Another tip for you that I do myself. I own a large fish tank and do a 25% water change every week. I put that water into my water butt as its full of nitrates and my vegetables seem to love it
I capture rainwater in a large open container as I wish to keep it's paramagnetic energy. I then keep it topped up with water from a canal along with oxygenating pond weed to keep in clean and full of microbial life.
@@sibit1 A perfect example of how you can't judge a book by it's cover. I certainly don't agree with you though. But guarantee this man has achieved more than you ever will despite of how he presents himself. He looks perfectly normal to me.
Agreed, I've been watering my plants regularly with water from our fish tanks since the 90s, and they do absolutely love it! And, on the occasion that we lose a fish or two, I bury them in a plant pot, and the plants get the benefits. Just an inch or two of soil keeps a small fish from stinking up the place. Obviously you would need more for a larger fish. Or you can do what a friend does, and blend the fish in a blender with some water, and put small amounts of the resulting slurry into three or four small trenches around each plant, then cover with soil. No waste, and the plants do great.
Comfrey is an amazing plant here in Canada. My apple trees do so well with comfrey planted all around. I planted clumps last summer and the bees loved it too.
Good, I realise how many things I see from my grandmother , a lot a things that you say they done in they own garden when I was child , thank you for what you doing all they are a great knowledge a big Thanks 😊
Thank you SO much for this video! I was amazed at how much weeds can be beneficial in acting as mulch; adding nutrients back into the soil etc. I have never used weed killer in our garden and as a results have plenty of weeds - I am always wondering how to dispose of them - not any more! It all makes sense now I can put them to good use; who would have thought! Carry on teaching us Alessandro and thank you:) Mags
And i wanted to say to u that i applicate a lot what u are doing for raising awareness to all of us ❤. From the advice for the water wasting to plastic pollution.
Great informational video! ❤ your humor sticking the weed to yourself. I compost all of my weeds currently- but you made a great point on getting those nutrients back in the soil quickly.... maybe fermenting is in my future!

Just amazing ideas and explanations of what weeds can do for our garden. They are not all bad at all x love watching your content, am currently studying horticulture in Aus.
When the cleavers, sticky willy, bloom the Mexican women will put them on their long skirts. Beautiful plant…did not know about the connection to the liver. Good info in this video as always, to the point.
@@SpicyMoustache it's my understanding it's filled with nutrients that the new growth can push through that think husk.. it can b used as a natural pgr.
Great video, thanks! I have s question about the fermentation and liquid compost.... can I use all sorts of weeds/ veg food waste , leaves together, or should I keep plants separate and make separate liquid compost? I want to combine all the weeds I have inherited on my allotment into one ferm3nted or liquid compost, but I am getting a sense of keeping things separate?
Mainly the things to look out for when adding weeds into compost are aggressive weeds/weeds with seeds, dry diseased and pest-infested plants! Another great add on to any plant, are ground up egg shells, and depending on the plant, coffee grounds! Such as with tomatoes, but no more than 20% of the soil should be mixed with coffee grounds!
Probably, but there might be a fairly steep learning curve in the experimentation process to find the right amount to use. But if you go with his ratio of roughly 100 to 1 dilution, that seems like it might be a good starting place, and I'm with you in that I'd rather go with natural rather than purchased nutrients. Then again, you can switch to aquaponics, and let the fish provide the nutrients - more fun and less work in the end.
@@Keyspoet27 thanks for the reply, I found your chanel through " keep on growing with Mike", I did soil growing years ago and had mixed results and took a while to get the ground right with digging in muck and then it turned into a building site 😭 now it's getting to look more like a garden but I don't want to have to re do all ground works again so I've been watching hydroponics for a long time and with various methods it looks simple, aquaponics looks like a good all rounder but that's a massive cost and steeper lurning curve. The idea of using waste from the garden to make nutrients made me think so I think I might start doing some experiments on grow with compost with water and home brew nutrients and just water, as I'm also in the UK I might be a bit too late in the season. I've binged watched a load of your videos and you are a talented grower 👍👍

What about the weeds with stickers are those okay? I have a bunch of weeds with stickers (seeds) and some weeds with thorns. Can I still use this method?
Compost them, or ferment them into plant food, as he shows in the video. You can compost nearly all plant materials, and bean shells are small enough that you wouldn't even need to chop them first, though they'll compost faster if you do. You don't want to compost allelopathic plants, such as black walnut leaves, husks, shells, or wood chips, because they contain a chemical that prevents other plants from growing and thriving. But pretty much everything else plantwise is good for compost.
This is the guy you want on your team when the apocalypse comes

weed seeds do not die unless temp of compost is fairly high, correct? If you agree, what temp and duration of heat is needed?

I didn't really pay attention to that, that they re release nutrients again... that means most landscaping jobs of cleanup after is very much extra.

Can I use brown sugar if I have no raw sugar??
1 Tbsp in 15 litres of water is a dilution of 1 in 1,000.
You need 150 mls of concentrate in 15 litres for a 1 in 100 solution.
I've only seen plant growth potion in cartoons.
You made it in real life.
